Questions: UN wants ceasefire. Israel would not agree to a ceasefire unless Hamas' release those hostages, lay down their arms and surrender. In order for ceasefire to go through, what do u think Israel should do to ensure it will not imperil the release of those hostages????
On Palestinian Statehood: Both Israel and Palestinians do not trust each other. Trusts are completely broken after the Oct 7th attack. Conflicts bet the 2 have been simmering since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Hamas wants an Islamic State and Koran as their Constitution, hence the reasons they do not want to recognize Israel as per their Hamas Charter 1988. Do you think Palestinian Statehood is feasible w/ Hamas still in play? Why and why not?

Thank you, P.M. Sanchez, for showing us what statesmanship looks like again. It has been greatly lacking in the West, especially in the U.S., for many years. The current state of affairs clearly demonstrates this fact. Kudos also to Al Jazeera and this journalist who exemplifies "professionalism". His questions were poignant, very thorough, very respectful, but he was relentless in demanding valid responses from the P.M. Al Jazeera is doing important work here.
Speaking as a Canadian, I respect Sr. Sanchez for his strong, courageous, and honorable stand on the Israel/Palestine issue, in stark contrast to the inadequate, and cowardly position of my own country's government and PM.

This shouldn't be about whether our own countries look good, though of course we all love that. This should be about what happens on the ground. I'm afraid Palestinians will keep suffering despite all the best wishes of many world leaders. If you gave me the choice of Spain looking good but with children still dying, on the one hand, and on the other we looking bad but children playing and being properly fed, and the hostages back in their homes... I'd take the second option. (by hostages I mean all of them, certainly the Israeli ones who are suffering tremendously and unfairly, but also the Palestinians languishing in Israeli prisons, often for minor issues like throwing stones.
