Thank you Dr Gilbert. My father was a general surgeon and an anesthesiologist. He worked for the Red Cross in Palestine with other medical colleagues before I was born. He imbued in us to volunteer. When we were older he volunteered with colleagues MSF to do surgeries in Haiti and the Domican Republic - and other remote areas. Often we accompanied him with my mother brother and sister to help out however and whatever was asked of us. On his retirement he was a translator at the UN and interpreter in court situations as he spoke seven languages. He’s gone now and he is so missed. You remind me so much of our father. Dedicated. Kind, and compassionate. He would be horrified , saddened and depressed at the situation in Gaza today. Were he still alive he would be on the first plane out there to help and even alongside you. Thank you for all that you do in your amazing work. There is a star in the universe with your name on it.

Mainstream media outlets are part of the problem.
If information is monopolized, people end up relying on a single source, which becomes an obvious target for special interest groups.
By influencing the narrative of that source, they shape public opinion.
Basically, monopolization of information is a massive vulnerability, which is one of the reasons why the internet is so important.

And there lies the problem, that so many feel utterly helpless to stop it when if you only realised it, you're not.
United we Stand, Divided we Fall.
It is possible to change the whole political system and vanquish the psychopaths of the Western world but the people need to want it enough.

Just when you think it can't get/ be worse than what we're currently witnessing, the details of what all has happened in the past, during the many decades of occupation and colonialization, is beyond scoping. It's truly hard to compute, not only all the crimes themselves (some which reach down to the most banal aspects of daily life) but the repercussions resulting out of each one; practical, economical and human. Some of which reverberate for years, like trauma. What a stain on humanity.
Dr. Gilbert is an extraordinary man, God bless him.

@@Ex_877 Fidel Castro gave a speech at the UN General Assembly in 1979 to the Palestinian people and against the Israeli occupation policy.
      Translated:
For the nonaligned countries, the question of Palestine is the core of the Middle East problem. The basis of just peace in the region begins with Israels total unconditional withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories and means for the Palestinian people the return of all its occupied territories and that of its inalienable national rights, including the right of return to its homeland to self-determination and establishment of an independent state in Palestine in accordance with resolution of 3236 of the general assembly, which implies the illegality and nullity of the measures adopted by Israel in the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories as well as the establishment of colonies or settlements in Palestinian lands and in other Arab territories whose immediate dismantling is a requirement for the solution of the problem, as i said in my speech to the sixth Summit, we are not fanatics, the revolutionary movement was always educated in the hatred of racial discrimination and progressives of any kind and from the bottom of our souls we repudiate with all our strength, the ruthless persecution and genocide that Nazism unleashed against the people in its time Hebrew but i cannot remember anything more similar in our contemporary the eviction, the persecution and genocide that imperialism and Zionism carry out today against the Palestinian people, stripped off their lands, expelled from their own homeland, dispersed throughout the world, persecuted and murdered, the heroic Palestinians constitute and impressive example of selflessness and patriotism and are the living symbol of the greatest crime of our era!

Thank you for such a comprehensive assessment of Israel’s regime brutality and Palestinian resistance by Dr.Gilbert. When such outrageous behavior is allowed to take place, like the good doctor said. ‘Who will be next’. You are a witness to all this and thanks for sharing it with us.
Also as was said by Dr. Gilbert, this is the ugly history of colonialism and imperialism against indigenous peoples-in North America, South America, Europe, Australia. etc against Native Americans, Africans, Aborigines, etc.
Yes, you are right Dr. Gilbert for pointing out that’s is why this grotesque war machine by Israel is aided and abetted by US and Europe. It is a travesty to use the claim of anti-semitism for standing against this brutality.

Thank you for this. It was so eye opening. It's very important to get outside perspectives and this is someone who has been involved medically in the community for 40 years and has developed relationships and understanding of the Palestinians and has seen first hand their struggles. I really hope more people would take the time to listen to this interview.

I’ve also been thinking ‘If they get away with this who’s next?’. Unfortunately the Israeli lobby is extremely active in the Western world.

To anyone who has any issues with anything that the Palestinian Resistance Factions have done or are alleged to have done-on and since Saturday October 7th, 2023-ask yourself:
How many of the purported “Israeli civilians” were actually military/police/security reservists, settlement security volunteers, or workers in Israeli military or dual-use industrial/communications/logistical/material support roles? According to Israel’s own doctrines, standard operating procedures, and rules of engagement, any such persons would have been fair game to target, even if unarmed at the time. *_Nothing_* that the Palestinian Resistance Factions have done or are accused of doing, violates _any_ rules, doctrines, SOPs, and RoEs that the Israeli regime claims to hold its own operatives, personnel, and constituents accountable to.
Your problem isn’t with the Palestinian Resistance Factions. It’s with Israel’s official doctrines, standard operating procedures, and rules of engagement. Israel and its allies wrote the rules. Don’t blame the resistance factions for following the rules. You don’t like their actions or alleged actions? Change the rules, and hold everyone accountable fairly. The Dahiyeh Doctrine-amongst other such things-is just as applicable to the Gaza envelope and Tel Aviv, as it is to Beirut or Gaza. Accept that.

@samy7013 By any standards, international or common, Hamas did engage in war crimes when it attacked those NOT serving, just living civilian lives. Your excuse for their behavior, never mind Israel's atrocities, does not hold.

    • @samy7013
      @samy7013 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@thegroovypatriot : Wrong. The Palestinian Resistance Factions _literally_ haven’t broken even a single rule under International Humanitarian Law (IHL) or the Laws of Armed Conflict (LOAC). This is a *_FACT_* . You don’t get to make up the rules to suit your whim.
