  • Asics Novablast 3 TR Review! Buy This Instead Of The Novablast 3?! All you guys have been commenting on my Asics Novablast 3 review videos that the trail version is much better because o the outsole! This road to trail shoe comes with a superior and more rugged outsole. Is though the trail version of the Novablast 3 the shoe to buy instead of the road version?

    I skipped the normal version and bought the TR version, I love it. By no means an aggressive lugging system on the shoes, but a bit more grip for wet roads or snowy winter days as compared to the normal version of the shoe.

    Hi,the NOV 3 TR has become one of my all time favourits over the road version.I've been running 70% in the woods with lots of fun.Sometimes I had to lace up again,'cause it started to cut in a bit.Although its breathable its the only shoe that makes cheese feet.20-30 km can be run effortlessly and on the way back the TR version will carry you home with no aces.I really love this shoe.

  • @RaigarRogue

    I have both - do all my running in the TR version, road or not. It’s a great shoe!

    I have this TR version along with the regular NB3 and the TR moniker, for me, is TRaction than TRails. It's very good for road to light trails but the high stack and softness really isn't good for trails that can even lightly be considered technical. It's also very good for wet tarmac over the regular version but, living in SoCal where it's bone-dry around 98% of the time, the traction of the normal NB3 has never been an issue for me. Also, the TR version does weigh about an ounce or 20g more than normal in my US size 8.

      @reynemanzano 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I live in SoCal as well. Considering the TR strictly because of the widespread concerns over lack of traction from the standard. I like the color ways of the standard and planning on adding a Brooks Cascadia 17 GTX for my trails ones. That said, i run through light gravel on my regulars road runs and it’s usually bone dry. Can I get away with the standard novablast or should I just go with the TR for peace of mind? I mentioned liking the standard color ways but I prioritize function at the end of the day

      @@reynemanzano I didn't find the traction on the regular NB3 to be bad, just not really good compared to some other road running shoes out there. The traction on the TR is definitely better but it also adds nearly an ounce in weight so that's something to consider as well.
      For my road-to-trail excursions, I've now settled on the NB FuelCell SC Trail as I run both road and trail quite often and wanted a shoe that can handle both in one session without compromise for either.
      I can say that the NB3 TR is not a trail shoe. In fact, I tweaked my knee running a trail (and nothing technical although it was very hilly) in it one time and I vowed to never do it again. But for light gravel, I think it will be fine.

    Yeah man , you are spot on with this , i bought the nova blast 3 when it came out , best daily iv ever had , but they struggled a bit in wet , wet leaves etc and started to wear quickly , ,, and then BOOM -- enter the TR version and i get everything i loved about the NB 3 but now i get grip through the winter months ,even more comfy than a Hoka mach 5 , they're not on a 'Speedgoat' level for the more extreme bizniz but defiantly the best all round road to light trail for me , yes yes yes , good one Fordy

    How is it with puddles? I absolutely love the base model but the upper is a puddle sponge. Is there any extra waterproofing/resistance or is it the same fabric?

  • @KenDiaries
    @KenDiaries ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How’s the upper! Waterproof?
    Or should I duct tape it? Lol.
    I have the regulars blast3 and thinking of getting the TR version for runs in the snow in Toronto.

    I skiped the normal version and just bought the TR, around 130k in them and still looking good. Fine on the tracks and trails I run on, a comfy cruiser when I need to use roads to get there.

    I was looking to upgrade my Novablast 1 to Novablast 3 but probably will pass because v3 outsole seems not as durable and lacking traction. For me, v1 had one of the most durable outsoles even on highly abrasive asphalt roads I normally run. I might get a Novablast 3 TR on discount since it will be an easy day shoe for me. I have other shoes for faster runs so increased weight in TR does not bother me. I expect it will be heavily discounted when sprint comes to clear the inventory.

  • @andresgroove
    @andresgroove 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm thinking on get a Novablast 3 but the outsole has been an issue for my decision. The normal version looks very weak and easy to worn and damage the midsole. I won't even call it trail shoe either (TR V), just has the grip that should have.

  • @chrispeters4042
    @chrispeters4042 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fordy, do you think this could do the job of winter shoe and summer shoe? or would you get a regular novablast also for summer?

  • @VJRiviere
    @VJRiviere ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Since I bought them (mid-sept) they have been on my feet for almost every run featuring the LV towpaths. Really good grip for it, although they do still struggle a little on the 'bombsite' after a proper raindump (the potholed section that leads to Dobb's Weir).
    Still not tried them round Epping Forest. Curious to see if they can cope with the trails there in the wetter months - sounds like they should be up to the task.

    Hello guys! I bought a pair of Novablast 3. They fit super well and size is perfect (43.5). I just got a problem, after some days I saw on the box that I bought the woman version (I am a male). Do you think that there may be some differences with the male version?

    I am very interested in this shoe, but currently run in the Nimbus 23. I have googled "asics tr" and it seems that all Asics "road" models (cumulus, nimbus, gt...) have their TR counterpart. Any idea why there are no news reviews on those shoes? I would like to see a couple of Nimbus 24 TR reviews but there are none.

    Saucony Speed 3 Runshield came out (on the Canadian website at least). It's a water resistant version. Would be interesting to hear a review of it once the UK has it. Sounded like a great winter shoe but seems the sole is the same unfortunately.
