It really is wild to me that they didn't make more cards that count as Neos. Or back in the day make a weak Neos that specials himself if you have a Neospacian.
I think MBT was only able to get 1 attack off between 3 separate games. Doug kinda fumbled a bit with the beetroopers but it lso literally didnt matter. Truly one of the episodes of all time.
I love Doug actively trying to hype mbt’s pack during his own pack opening. “The Neos pack, seems like it might be pretty crazy”. Like, it feels so gaslight-y when you cut back to MBT pulling almost every UR out of the pack and struggling to pull commons.
Nah dog, the Neos-Spacian pack is abysmal, who'd have thought from the pack proudly displaying DIVINE NEOS as it's artwork. This was basically a force loss unless the opponent is stuck with something of the level of Arcana Force. If you plan to Roulette Respin a second season, please don't let people cook with this pack again your gonna kill people.
I know they haven’t done this before, but they did update past secret packs they pulled on b4 recently with new cards. I’m not so if they’re willing to re add those in before the finale.
I almost wonder if they should do a draft pick for the last few packs. Like take turns picking which they want to play and pit them against each other in order. That way the power of the deck is somewhat represented by the desirability of the packs. I am just worried with these mostly being the leftovers that they will be really back matchups
feel like the neos pack shouldve been deemed unplayable or maybe for packs like that and vehicroid that have no plays whatsoever they should get something like a ur craft so its atleast possible to access the relevant legacy support
Idk if they have a bandaid in mind for the roid pack but packs that focus on a specific high rarity normal monster get 2 free copies of it, not that having 2 Neos helped joe here
I feel like solo mode card quantities could be determined beforehand by selecting a card out of the secret pack and replacing the amount of pulls that singular card will get with the solo mode exclusives (Cards of the same Rarity duh). So basically unplayable pack filler pulls = Solo mode cards.
Once you’re out of secret packs have you thought of spinning the wheel for one of the solo mode structure decks supplemented with with one set of ten secret packs of your choice. This would let you extend the lifespan of the series and showcase some of the packs that are gate kept by solo mode content

Within the confines of this neos deck, we feared that there would not be enough neo-spacians. Little did we know, we just drew them and failed to draw either Neos or Neos Fusion.
I think the thing that REALLY shows how bad Neo Space Comrades is without Elemental HERO support is this. In Neo Space Comrades, there's a card, Neos Wiseman, it's not a bad card by any means for its rarity. It can't be destroyed by card effects, and, when you destroy a monster by battle with this monster, your opponent loses lofe points based on the destroyed monster's ATK, and you gain life points based on its defense. Not a bad card, except for the fact it's in this secret pack. Neos Wiseman can only be special summoned (can't be Normal Summoned/Set) one of two conventional ways for a Neos deck. Either by sending one face up Elemental HERO Neos and one face up Yubel you control to the graveyard, or by effect of Elemental HERO Neos Kluger, when it's destroyed by battle or leaves the field by an opponent's card effect while its owner controls it. Guess what two cards aren't included in the Neos Space Comrades secret pack???
I seriously think you guys for a finale episode (for this season?) should have a battle between the best packs that each player has gotten and the worst ones. That'll be hype.
To comment on the “how many solo mode copies do we give” maybe it should be ‘you get this number of them, distribute as you wish. You could max it at 2 even if you want.”
Hey Doug I have an idea for a new season of Master Roulette: Yu-Gi-Oh! has a metric ton of games, in those games there are npcs with decks ranging from actually unplayable to tier 0 (for their time), you make a wheel of the games starting from like world championship 2006 (the one that starts having more variety in npc decks compared to its predecessors) until like tag force special (you can add legacy of the duelists if you want). Then roll for two decks from the game the 1st wheel chooses. Both players then pull 10 master packs and if the deck is really bad an additional 10 secret packs that correlate with the picked deck and then duel. The decks are all on yugipedia.
Next season you could try opening double the packs, but only being allowed to use the cards from the right half of each pack (even if a card from the left half is from the pack), this way you get double the cards from the pack, but no cards from outside the pack
One way to balance solo mode cards is to give them 2 of each N, 1 of each R, and 1 total SR card. If there's somehow a solo mode UR, the player can trade 1 UR they pulled for a solo mode UR.
What would decks look like if you could craft and use any number of cards from the Secret Pack, but nothing from outside of it? Kinda like monotype decks. A lot of these packs are severely limited by rarity luck, which would get taken out of the equation.
Have you thought of doing trades for the solo mode cards? Such as like the blue eyes deck..if you get a ur you can trade for the blue eyes or if you get an SR for for a solo mode SR...etc
I say yes use cards from solo but only 1 of each if they are locked to solo only or do like a trade in if you pull a ur or sr that you dont need or want trade it for a solo exclusive card now the hard part is if someone gets dark Magician but its best card i believe are locked in structure that one is up in the air 😅
what i would love to know is if you said you can build your deck however you want but only use cards from that secret pack how things would change. especially stuff neos basically has only 2 good cards in the entire secret pack so pulling random cards will probably never give you a deck that does anything

I feel like every episode we just reconfirm how absolutely awful the secret pack system is lol. Half the pack isn't even cards you're trying to pull for in the first place Just as likely to get all your holos out of pack Like what's the thought process behind these? Imagine if actual packs were like this. You buy a box of phantom nightmare but every pack you open, half the cards are from like metal raiders and pharaohs servant xD
Its a shame how bad the neos cards kinda are all cause of their summoning rule and having to return to the deck. Theres alot more bettter support cards now for them so they are way more playable then they ever have been but they really need a lil more. Maybe a retrain of neo space at least . Give it some kind of protection or recovery abilty
Litterally all Neos needs is a dark rainbow neos retrain thats fusion material is “NEOS+Fusion Hero Monster” THAT IS PART OF THE HERO KIT! Rainbow neos isnt a hero, worst part about the card
What's the point in including packs that LITERALLY have no engine inside of it instead of you being incredibly lucky with your pulls (and that only makes it somewhat playable)...

Yeah, you don't really see much connections to any of Jaden/yubel's archetypes until 2015 onwards.
Not many monsters were a free Special summon back then, it would need some crazy restriction for people to not simply play it in anything.

Recycle a 1000 ATK monster every turn is crazy when your opponent has five total monsters, and they're all under 1000.

Beetrooper vs Spright might actually have been ok. Spright sounds like you'd need to get super lucky to get a very complete deck together.

I think for packs that have cards stuck behind solo gates. The player should be able to use one card of their choice from that solo gate.
At this point decks that has plays are now better than ones that has better pay offs since URs and Commons are equally as rare
