How To Cake It I love your channel ur amazing it would mean the world to me if u made a dolphin 🐬 cake plzzzzzzzzzz I ❤️ u 💖💖💖💖💜💜💜😍😍😍😍😻😻😻😻😻😘😘😘😘😘😻😻🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🐬🐬🐬🐬
Seems like the stereotype of food stylists being condescending is true. Thanks Donal for being down to earth and having fun with your vids! It makes them quite enjoyable.
New subscriber here! I used to live in Dublin for almost a year and when I saw that you lived in Dublin, and saw that your videos and recipes are all so fantastic, I quickly subscribed! I remember when I was in Dublin, I tried all the good bakeries in there. You guys are just very good at baking stuffs. Looking forward to your next video!
I'm not sure why I found that moment at 4.59 so hilarious! It could have been the look on Donal's face, or perhaps it was the thought of you both going to the fridge just to put the cake in. Either way, I re-watched it over 20 times laughing my head off!
'No bake baking' step one: buy pre-baked flan cases. Maybe step two will be equally earth-shattering, like getting a Victoria sponge from your local supermarket or something.
LOL. That's a cute mustache Donal... i think the marshmallow mixture wasn't set enough while you taste it directly from the mixer. :D But the cake is absolutely amazing.... I like it!
I was watching this video, and then she brought the book out. A few seconds later, revelation, my mum literally bought it for me from costco a few weeks ago :P
Donal Skehan Admittedly, I haven't had the chance to bake anything in a while. I'll certainly try to tackle something from Sharon's book soon though :) The cake looked really great - and that trick with the skewers is awesome :P
If most of the recipes in her cookbook are like this cake (i.e. Involving the purchase of a baked cake or option to bake it yourself), then the title is deceptive and should be called semi-homemade recipes non no-bake. Either way the marshmallow filling looks delicious.
Hi.. We Folks in Indonesia doesn't know what "Continental Sponge Flan" is. Can it be replaced with ANY baked cake? What would be your best recommendation ?
Hey Donal, is it absolutely necessary to get the sugar mixture to 130degrees? Would it be possible to estimate that temperature? (I don't own a sugar thermometer) :(
yes it has to get to 130C but you can check hard ball stage by dropping a bit of the mixture into cold water - it should turn into a hard ball. it takes about 10-15 minutes of simmering to get to this point. good luck!
I wonder if this would work with agar agar or if it would be firm enough with a marshmallow fluff instead of the gelatine filling. I hate finding beautiful desserts that I can't make because they're not vegetarian :(
can i substitute black berrys with strawberries or mulberries...?What other fruits can be used?we usually dont find black berries so easily in india...:(
Just discovered your channel and LOVE IT! This looks so amazing I need to try it.

I LOVE your videos!!!!! You just made my day with your contagious smile and laughter, but you did make me a bit hungry! :)
But if you have to bake the sponge, is it really no bake? Either way it looks scrumptious and the finishing touch was brilliant!
the 'cake' part is continental sponge flans from the supermarket (or you could use a regular sponge) so absolutely no baking involved for you ;)
Sharon Hearne-Smith Oh!! Makes much more sense now :)
Can't wait for YOUR next cookbook!!!
I'm working on it! :)
YAY!

I was watching this video, and then she brought the book out.
A few seconds later, revelation, my mum literally bought it for me from costco a few weeks ago :P
Luke Gibbor ah no way! How cool is that Sharon Hearne-Smith ! :)
Donal Skehan Admittedly, I haven't had the chance to bake anything in a while. I'll certainly try to tackle something from Sharon's book soon though :) The cake looked really great - and that trick with the skewers is awesome :P
I'm all cleaned up now! marshmallow on adorable chin.
What are the alternatives to metal skewers

Can I use corn syrup instead of maple syrup??
Would I be able to substitute lemon curd for the Black Berry compote?
ouh yum, that sounds like a great idea!
