  • Hey guys! Another busy week around here! Dean and I got the gas tank sorted in the 1937 Chevy, and then a trip to the GCFCE to see how the Suburban 4x4 project is coming along (and some rattle-can action)...
Tom and Myles were over and we decided that we would fill up a few "hopeful" engines with diesel so that they might be ready to work on this summer!
Thanks to everyone who ordered a Fury shirt! They are now shipping! You should receive an email very soon if you haven't already. Also: We just got in a new shipment of "Same Old Shit" coffee mugs, so get yours today while they last, haha!
Oh! I do not have a Telegram account or any bullshit contest going! Do not respond to any of these "contest winner" replies; they are a scam.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

I don't expect an answer, but was that Marvel Mystery Oil
you were pouring down the plugholes?
Krikey! You need to hit them up for a sponsorship!
Also: 1950s Nash = Pininfarina, did you know that?
I loved to see all the old crocks in the yard.

It's a shame that the TH-cam algorithm does nothing for such an inspiring channel. It's refreshing to see content that is genuine and aimed at bringing back cars that otherwise would dissappear of the planet. With all the junk channels out there with large amounts of subscribers It's hard to understand the logic in it. Thanks again Scott and all the agents for putting this together every week, your dedicated die hard fans will always look forward to coming along for the ride! Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧

  • @briquetaverne
    @briquetaverne ปีที่แล้ว +7

Scott, even though I really want the SM to get finished I am also torn towards directing your attention towards improving the 58 Studebaker (Packard) because of the rarity of the car. When I was part of the Studebaker (start-up) organization's administration back in 2011-2012, those of us in the inner circle discussed the possibility of building new "old cars" with the CEO. The idea was to build just a few "renaissance reproduction" models of certain years in precise limited amounts, in order to slide just under the denoted number the Federal regulations would qualify as standard "production" vehicles. Since all of these Studebakers were built before any of the safety and environmental protective standards applied, none could pass modern requirements. However, like the Shay Model "A" Roadster replicas, something like a 1955 Studebaker Speedster with a few differences in the motor, electrics, suspension, brakes and add-ons which didn't exist in '55 could be produced up to 99 examples and qualify as concept or experimental vehicles and not a replica or continuance full production car.

    • @briquetaverne
      @briquetaverne ปีที่แล้ว +3

Oh, one other thing, that automatic transmission should be a Borg Warner, which was pretty much the standard for Studebaker.

Myles has some nice cars there. That Newport of his has the best sound when he goes by. You need to make a segment of sayings and curses by Tom. You would have a whole episode there. That Suburban was out of this world. No damn rust. They all vaporized by me here in New Jersey. Everytime they hit a pothole, the rust would fall off with a body part. Great Job saving those engines. They need your help. Can't wait to see that 37 Chevy running after all this time. You guys are tremendous. Go Canada!

Perfect spring day in the yard plus 37 Chev progress and cop tank update. Bunch of sick cars for a sick planet!
We have CWM dealer stickers on both our classics and it starts a lot of conversations when we're out. Most think our cars were from Alberta originally. 😏 Cheers 🇨🇦

Another great episode with a lot going on! I think that it would be cool to see that diarama of the collection again sometime in the credits. That looked like it took a while to do and would be nice to see again. Hi Agents and Frankers!

Appreciated Dean jumping right in helping you with the Chevy gas tank, top job, Dean! And long distant High Fives to Myles and his "Overkill" attitude...4 hand rubbed coats of gloss black on the brake drums. Wouldn't be surprised if he clear coated them, too! And shop vaccing the cobwebs off the old straight 8 when you said just get the stuff around the plugs, "no it's nasty it all has to go!" my kind of car detail nerd! Because that's what he does, awesome! And the Suburban is rapidly taking shape, a gem of a save for sure. Love his application of his brand of TLC. Another stellar video installment hoping for Spring in the North Woods. Same for us down here in Colorado. Totally over Winter. Cheers to all, Scott!

Scott, nice to know that Frankers knows when it's time for dinner, otherwise you and Dean might never quit wrenching! Turns out Dean is not only a very good friend but also is a very heads up mechanic! I guess I've been distracted by his giggles and greasy flips side. I'm totally gob smacked about how solid that 37 Chevy is! Wow! And you're right about the old gas not rotting everything into oblivion. Ethanol is the enemy of old iron. Thanks for the is it stuck? tour! My dad was a Packard fanatic and owned several in the early to late 50s. He moved from a 'mint used 42 to a brand new 56 before falling back to Mopars for the rest of his days. Thanks for the memories! Cheers from New Mexico!

Nice day outside in Alberta , i’m installing the carburetor back in my 1985 Honda 250 Rebel , with 4100 original Kilometres , been parked in a heated garage since new . 1987 my friend busted tail bone so bad , could never ride again . I have been trying to get that Rebel since 1987 , i had one then , wore it out , had another one in 1998 , 450 Rebel wore that one too , lol , now my lovely wife last fall got her fingers on this bike that i have been waiting for decades , got it running but , of course carb is varnished so bad . This bike is an absolute treat ! Time capsule ! How ever , i’m gonna enjoy put miles on it , and i built a fully contained heated shed to store it in ! I’m in heaven ! What a great Wife i have for last 40years + ❤

Another enjoyable episode as usual! It's funny that today's episode kind of parallels the points I am at on my current AMC Spirit project. I am working on cleaning out the gas tank that hasn't seen fresh gas in about 17 years and also spray painting the light box the console gauges sit in. I felt that "smoker's lung yellow" probably wouldn't reflect light as well as white would so I cleaned and painted all the surfaces in the two clusters that had bulbs in them. Two tasks down, 1,736.4 left to go!

Finally I have time for youtube car fixing videos. For ten days I have been fixing things and tinkering on my oversized fleet of old junk. I got rewarded driving around with one of my oldies, that I did not had the chance to drive for many years. But the more I work on my cars, the more problems there are to fix on most of them. That is a battle I can never win!
    But I probably need that.
Now that I have a moment to breath, what am I doing: Watching other people fixing their old junk! That shows that I am a sick bastard.
It is interesting to see the Canadian lamp system. Once we were fixing a Buick of a customer: We desperately tried to find out how to switch off the lights. At the end the customer told us that he brought this car home from Canada and the headlights could not be switched off while the car was running.

    *YAY SPRINGTIME!* *60.5K!*
Wow, was it just me or was this last winter a rough one to endure?
Damn thing never seemed to want to go away....
Always great to "visit" CWMC world, of course - because of the people, moreso than
the beloved cars even - but if you watch long enough, you'll see the underlying strength
    of the channel, too:
Namely, there is a driving force underneath it all and it's all about *progress* - constant,
sometimes stubborn as hell - but progress is always being made.
More of that "positive wave" stuff, man. Attitudes, projects, even fooling around with the
yard art is always positively presented and that's just a wonderful thing for the soul to watch.
It's why Ive been here for all these years, anyways...

Hi, Scott The '37 Chevy is really coming along. You are putting Dean to working next to you on several of the cars. The Suburban work looks great especially the spray can paint the doors. Tom looks real happy to be hanging around with you and Myles putting the loose juice in the cars to get them ready for the season runs. Please tell me Myles I will send the clock to your house. I've been busy the past weeks. I had to go to Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in Maryland for my quarterly check for Persian Gulf War health screening. I will get mail out on Monday morning. I'll have all shipping information so it you know it's delivery time. Thanks Scott, my best wishes to everybody. Cheers!
