AcidGlow Hi, I have an important question for you, and was hoping if it is true that you would make a video on it. Is it you who provided the narrative voice for Alien vs predator extinction on the ps2?, it's been on my mind for almost a year, you sound exactly the same at certain points. might be wrong, can't be sure, thanks.
The way you explain this make it sound perfect as an RPG. -Must kill Xenomorph to get to the next "level" is the introduction -A Xenomorph queen gets is the first boss you encounter -Killing enough Queens (from raids or something of the like) gets you the opportunity of taking your squad to a hive mission. I want this to be a thing
So basically predators are sent to farm xenomorph lairs until they get 3 queen skulls so that the quest giver can grant them the next rank. Predators are gamers. We are gamers. We are predators Woosh
Its not just Xenomorphs lol. You got to remember that Predator lore existed before Xenomorphs were merged into them. Predators could earn their ranks by hunting any other fierce creatures aside from the Xenomorphs. Its just so happens that the Xenomorphs are probably some of the hardest things for them to hunt and make good sport, but their clan progression is not limited to just Xenomorphs. This is supported by the film Concrete Jungle when you get to see the Predator's trophy room and there are far more than just Xenomorph and Human skulls.
Bad blood tribes (killers), who don't care about cheating at the hunt, also develop their own technologies and domestication techniques. The Yautja hunter and killer tribes are at war. Yautja have nothing against taking trophies. Hence one might postulate that at least some of the Yautja Hunter clan's technologies are stolen as trophies from the Killer tribes. The last movie did bring back the idea of cheating Preds being hunted by their own. The interesting part being that the smaller pred actually left a killer type armour for the humans. From this, I take it that the last movie implied the bio-engineered Yautja to be so taboo that even the killer tribe decided he had no honor. (You are not killing with the abilities nature gave you. You are trying to achieve not only better technologies, but a way to improve your science skill outside of your own merit!) Hence, since the killer tribes do domesticate "allies" more often and more completely for their hunts, I guess "The Fugitive" actually wanted to make a kind of war pact with the humans. Which we might never know because : 1 - The fugitive dies. 2 - I'm really not sure I trust Disney (which bought Fox) to keep any kind of continuity with this or any other franchise. Another interesting fact with this "killer" armour is that "Earth" was always depicted as Hunter clan territory. So we don't yet know if the clan possessing earth was vanquished, turned bad blood themselves, or were challenged by the two preds of the last movie.
I had no idea that there were so many cool Yautja masks & battle army it's hard to decide which one is cooler but hey, they're all cool, different & unique just like the Yautja themselves.
i like the wolf predator from avp requiem his mastery of the whip and setting traps made i think one the deadliest of the yautja id seen of or heard of
So in a round about way, a Yautja is only eligible for role of adjudicator once it has acquired 15 xenomorph queen skulls... that is assuming they survive through the hive cleansings.
I just want a movie just strictly about the Yautja. Even if there was just subtitles of them talking in their language. That would be so fucking cool. Just a movie about 3 Yautja trying to prove themselves. But literally just have it from their perspective.
How badass would it be to get a predator movie but it follows a rookie making his way up to clan leader. Watching him take on all the tasks over who knows how long and all the epic fights and kills along the way.
Well you don't want a weak clan leader. You want a leader to follow, one that is fierce, resoursful, and adaptable. You don't want a leader that is weak and can not lead properly or one that does not bring significant honor to the clan
who in predator society actually develops and makes technology? I never really found anything about how they make their tech or produce it for each predator.
Non of this information is full-canon and subject to be retconned. Alien franchise has already rejected the possibility of avp with covenant. My theory is the hunter yautja is a part of a greater society, like a caste. Or a caste within a caste. The movies establish that the yautja are really smart. Remember the scenes where predators learned the basics of english by eaves dropping alone. Or the scenes where they easily outsmart the heroes, they couldnt outsmart their plotarmor though.
i understood that to be come a clan leader you had to clean out a hive with no more than 2 helpers and take a queen skull to become a clan leader any more queen skulls were just to add more prestige and power to that clan
@@TheEnigmaticBM39 judging by the fact how the City Hunter has more advanced technology compared to the jungle Hunter it would be safe to say that the jungle Hunter was younger.
darkman 420 it’s possible that they’re around the same age since predator 2 takes place 10 years after the first movie. The city hunters had that time to advance in skill/class while the jungle hunter was dead.
And at the end when danny glover kills the elite...and all those predators that pop out are elites and the main one who gave him the gun was an elder correct?
I own the original print comic called Bad Blood which is where that name originates. Its about a renegade predator that is hunted by what appears to he a Predator law enforcer of some type. Awesome story. Awesome art.
Comic book aside, I would love to see a movie based on humans landing on predators home planet. Showing females , young ones and life daily. Kind of a humans living with the gorillas type thing. A group of predators accept humans to live and work along side them for a period of time. Maybe to team up and kill a mega hive or something. Also show how all this tech gadgetry is produced. There's gotta be a nerd clan of predators like Q in James Bond.
I feel like this franchise should have a lore similar to Halo in terms of depth. Idk y but this story really relates to it as well. There are some very interesting aspects of this franchise. They should make more books, movies, and games with good writers to develop the story it deserves
Best predator ive seen is Wolf out of AVP2 requiem, a senior experienced hunter with many different masks and weapons at his disposal. Probably well respected on yautya prime. He took it apon himself to clean up the mess on earth being made by the Pred/Alien, and seeing him in action with all his skill and weapons of choice was really cool. He used the whip, blue liquid that dissolves anything, net traps in the sewers to stop aliens getting out, and had all the plasma cannon, extending spear, all the wrist gadgets. Yes for me wolf was a formidable hunter and almost pulled it off. And for me he is the best predator i have seen in action in any film. At the start he is sitting in his chair in the heat when an alarm starts sounding. He is shown what has happened and maybe he is chosen, but i think he takes it upon himself to clear up the mess and leave no trace. Wolf was a class act. Top of my list in predator ability and the look he had was real classy. R.I.P Wolf.
we need Predator video games that are more than just multiplayers. I'd love a single player, choices matter video game that has multiple endings that indulges us in the Yautja lore
Xeno exclusive stuff is most likely to be retconned in newer comics. Noticed they added that a predator can reclaim lost honor by hunting an engineer in the new comic Continuity.
What about their masks? Like is it a prefferance thing or is there a story behind each bio-mask? Like we see multiple preds have various masks. Like, for instance, Celtic, Chopper and Scar
Great knowledge just curious where do you get all of your knowledge? From the predator comic's? Also howcome not much is known about the highest predator rank the philosopher's and could you please let me know if you know of any comic's with more information on the philosopher's
This requires an update. Especially in regards to the female Yautja. In Predator Hunting Grounds, they brought Arnold Schwarzebeggar back to voice some of Dutch's audio logs. He became a Predator Hunter after the events of the original movie. THey were good at it, but it was a female Yautja that showed just how powerful the Yautja actually are. She hunted and killed every member of his team, one by one. They were more heavily armed that Dutch's original team and had experience killing Predators. In the end, his entire team was killed and he caught in a Yautja net. As it got tighter it tore into his face, and she let him go. He never could figure out if it was a warning or a sign of respect to another hunter. He also realized that as we learned how to fight them, they were in turn learning how to fight us. Both striving to become better hunters. He also realized that if they wanted to, they could annihilate the entire human race with little effort. Perhaps it is the Philosophers who are improving their technology to make them better hunters.
I don't have to update anything. I made 3 Videos on Dutch's return to PHG video game. I made those videos the day that Lore became available. Maybe you missed all 3.
You forgot about the Arbitrators. Those bored with the hunt and are, like Dredd from 2000 AD, Judge Jury and Executioner for the Yautja race. And if I'm not mistaken, the Predator in AvP Requiem was a nod to Yeyinde, Dachande, Broken Tusk. Who, in the movie, was an Arbitrator.
He's known as 'jungle hunter' and considered elite although there are not really elements to say that except the fact that looked like ho knew his shit
It's hard to imagine a Predator successfully cleansing and surviving 5 Alien Hives and obtain 3 queen skulls.... These things are zergs..hundreds and thousands of them who have acid blood armor piercing claws.
Different clans have different rank systems and forms of development though. Elite clans become elites if they kill a Xeno-morph. Skipping right to the top and unlocking all weapons. Other clans you gain weapons and tech over time as you level up getting bigger and bigger kills and tropheys.
The closest thing to an open world predator game is the amazing skyrim mod "Predator the lost tribes". It makes you choose between three different races of yautja and adds xenomorphs, a queen complete with pyramid like temple, bad blood clans scattered throughout and a fuck ton of armor and weapons. check it out on youtube
Who builds and maintains Yautja technology and infrastructure? Do they have a scientist caste or laborer caste? It was shown in the Aliens vs Predators comics by Dark Horse, at least the laborers side. Are female Yautja also masters of combat? Otherwise how do they fend off male Yautja that wants to mate without satisfying their hunt creds? If the males hunt as a form of near-religious ritual rite of passage, do females have their own as well to establish rank for their gender? Maybe the females are the scientists, have the largest numbers and form an organized military to rule their homeworlds, and males are fewer because they must be great warriors and survivors to mate and produce offspring with multiple females (harem). Many males die in the hunt, but those who excel, get to produce many hundreds or thousands of offspring with their hunting prowess proven to their society.
Kinda sad that their rankings are dependent in Xenomorph kills. It would be cooler if they showed other weird space creatures. I always loved seeing the “cooler looking” skulls of a Predator’s collection and imagining the kind of creature that had said skull.
Great video. Just one thing though, this species displays advanced technology and interstellar travel. Who makes their technology and space ships? Is there a special caste of scientists among Yautja society?
They mostly stole it. I have strong memories of one of the comics (or was it one of the novels???) implying that they had been a slave race at some point, but started to hunt their masters and keeping their stuff. Which in turn uplifted them in the space age without leaving the tribal stage. However... I'm starting to think this might have been "freedom in translation" or the mandela effect. I just wish I still had that source to verify. If anyone here knows the exact source, please share it with the class. As for the education system, it is mostly "show and mimic". Young pups are encouraged to train with their elders and fight amongst themselves for dominance. (Big Mama was shown to push that same education system on Ash Parnall.) They generally are encouraged to learn by being attacked and given some items for maintenance. Some form of education must also be present for their sign language to mean anything; which in turn serve the purpose of passing values and tips about tracking preys. The same philosophy of tracking must then be used by the young pups about technology. If you prefer, they learn how the ship works by looking at their elders using it. The faster they do it, the more clever they must be considered. All this being helped by their "right" to move freely around any hunter as long as they aren't too much of an annoyance. (Being annoying hurts.) In the end, they mostly "gain the right" to use stuff by proving themselves and earning the respect of other hunters. It is a strange question really... considering their education system is almost the only thing we ever really see about them. A true Yautja is always learning, always testing him or herself to get better. Yautja that do not present such competitiveness are generally relegated to live in the corridors of ships and scraping for food. Faith and history are very much more obscure. There is some references here and there that they build temples to honour fallen Elders and Ancients. The artifacts left in these tombs must then be claimed by young bloods during their initiation rituals. Temples corrupted by the presence of predaliens and / or humans are often "cleansed" with fire (AVP 3 / PS3)... Which might explain why so little of their histories are kept. Hunters do want their hunt to be known and sung, which does imply that they sing (we have yet to have an example), and that most of their preservation of the past is about strong hunters and their killing techniques. In turn, hunters that fail to the point of having to be cleansed fear / regret that their songs will never be sung again. Which points to a lot of their culture erasing itself with natural selection. Machiko Noguchi was given an history lesson about "the Prey" which was simultaneously found on many planets and adopted by many tribes. Interestingly enough... that would still hold true even with Alien Covenant. However, she believed that this tale was a lie, hiding the terrible fact that the Yautja seeds planets with their own queens, seemingly at random... just because a planet looks like a great place to hunt. This theory is more or less related to a possible "world of origin" for the xenomorphs; where they would have been kept in check by a terrible ecosystem. (Once again, not really contradicted by Prometheus and Covenant.) And... that's about all I can remember on the spot.
People think Xenomorphs are more dangerous than the Yotiua or whatever (that's probably spelled wrong) but no because 2/3 of the Predators we see have killed over 100 xenomorphs before.
I think you got it wrong.. In AVP they are granted access to the shoulder weapon in their hunt....It is how they get them....But the humans took them. Which changed the hunt..... And yest the mask records everything....Then is uploaded to the ship as proof of their kill and hunt....
Where do the hunters get their weapons? Did they steal the tech? Do they have slaves that design weapons, clothes and ships? Or are they doing that by a non-warrior class?
Young Blood- Has to kill an alien and mark their scar Bad Blood- Their outcasts and hunt with little-no honor Blooded Warrior- They have successfully killed an alien Elite- Have to have a Queen's skull Tribe Leader- Has to cleanse out a hive of aliens (more than 300 members) Ajudakaders- Have to cleanse out 5 hives Philosopher- ???

Xenomorphs are the ultimate prey... they even say that in AVP thats why xenomorph kills carry weight
This explains the end of the predators movie. I always wondered why the predator was tied to the tree
Is ther any scientist yautja or builder,mayor,president,chef,teacher,principal,i.t,student,ext.
Does anybody know, is there any comic or novel, which describes this hierarchy, or shows us the planet of the Yautja?
Great video. Just one thing though, this species displays advanced technology and interstellar travel. Who makes their technology and space ships? Is there a special caste of scientists among Yautja society?
Do you think we will ever get to see yautcha prim In a film sorry if I mistake the name
What is really intriguing me is how they developed high technologies. Do they have scientists? Education system?
(Once again, not really contradicted by Prometheus and Covenant.)
And... that's about all I can remember on the spot.
I’m just gonna say.. I think the first predator was the most OP out of all the others I’ve seen.
Philosophers or mediators between clans to maintain balance
I would like to see a movie where the Predators fight as a cohesive unit. Like the Navy Seals
Yup they should keep making movies like those at least try and not make stupid random bs
So are the Predators in 1 and 2 young bloods?
Primarily based on being resourceful and team work...
Anybody have any idea why the predators in AVP have upper teeth and less crab like mandibles than the fangs and crab like mouth in all other movies?
So is Ahab Predator a retiree?
Man.... predator is mostly like a samurai...nice
So Elder is the Clan Leader?
You forgot about the Ancients.
Kaneki Ken No, he didn't.
Tachanka's Left Nut When did he talk about the ancients?
@@KanekiKen-fc3qo At the end.
@@KanekiKen-fc3qo Why do you Skip?
Is any of this canon? If so, what are the sources?
Turn on captions and see how many different ways yautja is spelled
I like this
hey acidglow wolf was an elite veteran why didnt he mark his face with the blood of an alien in the symbol of his clan like scar and the elder did.
Because he was trying to kill them not hunt.
Plus he was elite he did his mark ages before
Does anyone no the rank of the predator in AVP 2 ? film I'm just watching them all now
People think Xenomorphs are more dangerous than the Yotiua or whatever (that's probably spelled wrong) but no because 2/3 of the Predators we see have killed over 100 xenomorphs before.
But when do they achieve the rank of Ultra or Elite Honor Guard?
I think you got it wrong.. In AVP they are granted access to the shoulder weapon in their hunt....It is how they get them....But the humans took them. Which changed the hunt.....
And yest the mask records everything....Then is uploaded to the ship as proof of their kill and hunt....
Where do the hunters get their weapons? Did they steal the tech? Do they have slaves that design weapons, clothes and ships? Or are they doing that by a non-warrior class?
Young Blood- Has to kill an alien and mark their scar
Bad Blood- Their outcasts and hunt with little-no honor
Blooded Warrior- They have successfully killed an alien
Elite- Have to have a Queen's skull
Tribe Leader- Has to cleanse out a hive of aliens (more than 300 members)
Ajudakaders- Have to cleanse out 5 hives
Philosopher- ???
Cant wait till the predator game 2020
