Very interesting to come back to one of your earlier videos and see how far your technical and presentation skills have come. It would also be interesting to see if Iceland are still stocking those pies and how much they might be 17 months on.
Sadly Iceland have stopped stocking these pies, stating that they were not commercially successful, even though from personal experience they were always the most popular of the Ramsden's range at my local store at least. Asda are now selling a Ramsden's steak pie (in fact 2 in a pack), but the product bears no resemblance (appearance or quality) to the ones in this video. I bought a pack, and found them inedible, - it would be interesting to see Gareth's take on the Asda ones.
You could've served that gravy by the slice! 😂😂😂 Pie seemed a bit lacking in meat tbh. Try the Lidl Deluxe range of pies - their steak & ale pie is spot on and at about £2.80 (serves 2) is full of meat too.
Hey Hey Barry as an expat your videos are not only informative but are “TASTY” We don’t have some of the stores that you have so I can only drool over many of the video So keep them coming,
You have convinced me that I need to try one of those - with gravy!!! Looks spectacular - You have a good sense of humour - where are you from??? Mash would be nice with it too.
Cor that looks lovely,I'm going down Iceland this weekend and Sunday tea time is going to be a nice old test out ,All the best from the south coast and by the way nice touch with the army and navy 😜🇬🇧🍀👍🏼
Loved this pie till they stopped it but have just purchased their new version today (2/5/24) and apparently it's no way near as good as the original you have just reviewed. Will cook it over the weekend and see!.......a review on the new one from you would be good!......Great reviews mate and keep them coming....Graham & Gill 10:20
I live in Gibraltar and can buy Iceland product through The Food Company, your lucky only paying £4.00 for one, we went shopping for one today and paid £7.50 here, hoping they taste as good as your review. By the way the added cost we have to pay is mainly transport charges and administration charges caused by Brexit.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Enjoyed the pie, not sure it was really for two servings :). While it was as good as you said, I do not believe it was £7.50 good, maybe not even £4.00 good, think its mainly trading on Harry's good name.
Had one a few weeks ago , well between two of us , half each . With spuds n veg . Very nice for frozen but a bit steep , I agree with u. I love the gravy addition 😋removing top .Nice vid and good banter keep it up .
I LIKE WATCHING YOUR FOODIE VIDEOS,WATCHING FROM MALTA,I EXPECT YOU GET COMMENTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TOO,A QUESTION I WANT TO ASK YOU IS WE GET MEAT PIES HERE ALSO PORK PIES,BUT NOTHING LIKE THE PORK PIES I HAD AS A BOY IN WALES THEY WERE GREAT AND WERE CALLED PALETHOPS PORK PIES,DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE HEARD OF THEM.CHEERS FROM WELSHMAN IN MALTA.
I suppose you get what you pay for most of the time. But £4.00, for a 400g Harry Ramsden's Steak Pie!... that's literally three times the price of an Iceland's Family Steak Pie 700g, for £2.39... I've no doubts that the Harry Ramsden's Steak Pie, is a better all round quality product. But the price is off-putting to those on a budget, with hungry mouths to feed. If they could lower the price to nearer the £3.00 mark, i think more people would be tempted to give it a try. I'm going to try one myself!, but i'm also going to give the Iceland's Family Steak Pie a try too. Then i can test for myself, if the extra price is worth it... or whether it's simply priced higher because of the Harry Ramsden's brand name. But I've checked the meat content for both items, and the Harry Ramsden's Steak Pie, has 30% Beef content... and the Iceland's Family Steak Pie has 26% Beef content... That's not a lot of difference between the two of them. So i'll order one of each on my next Iceland online delivery, and give them both a try. Thanks for the review my friend. Cheers. 🍺
Cheers Rick as always an outstanding comment. Yes I say its pricy also mark it lower because of that. It was tasty but even better with my gravy 😂 cheers Rick, go steady pal 😊😋👍
It looks good hun, but it didn't look too full. Being a veggie more into the chips and salad cream sandwiches! Yum! I'm going to get one for the old hubby see what he thinks. Always a great video to cheer up my lunch break. X
@@BaldFoodieGuy can't say fairer that! £4 not too bad for a meaty pie 😋 if you share it and cut it in half and serve with mash, veg and gravy that's 2 quid each....not bad lol!

I think your camera had been drinking, some of that red wine! You did say their was only a bit left.
