    Wow just discovered your channel and I’m obsessed with you! So smart and so funny. I haven’t been tested yet but inferred my h2s after taking the Viome test (which tells you what foods to eat and not eat but provides limited explanation) and all of my major avoid foods were cruciferous vegetables. I am one of the apparently rare cases that has absolutely room clearing sulfur gas after about 70% of my meals. I was working with a nutritionist who also was guessing h2s. Interestingly on my Viome all the meats and cheeses were on my enjoy list 🤔. Maybe it’s not sibo? Will you be my new doctor lol. I am also a major pimentel Stan. I also was cried laughing after your snoring video. Anyways I’m waiting with baited sulphuric breath for your next update on the pimentel study. I'm considering whether I have this problem, I have had chronic fatigue syndrome since 2015 but something changed in 2020 when I lived in a difficult, dirty environment and I got new symptoms, eventually culminating in MCS, mold hypersensitivity, leaky gut and food allergies / intolerance / sensitivity, itching, red eyes, coughing, strange reactions to traffic fumes, face flushing, extreme fatigue and sore muscles. Many more problems. I've been trying to figure out the cause and my first test with AIRE 2 was flatline, I have done a biomesight bacteria analysis and it shows HS2 associated bacteria are 5x higher than the average sample, one of these bactera, desulphovibrio ( ? ) was completely off the scale.

    Can Prokinetics slow down motility for those that suffer from overactive motility or are they more to ensure that the food moves through to avoid constipation?

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Prokinetics will not slow down motility unless one has a very strange, contradictory reaction. They are more likely to induce diarrhea, if anything, and that is dose and individual dependent. Each prokinetic has a different mechanism of action. Prucalopride is used for chronic consultation but for SIBO it is prescribed at low doses to help motility in the small intestine only because at low doses it only works from the small intestine and up in the GI tract. And low dose prucalopride is still indicated in those with diarrhea from sibo because it shouldn’t induce diarrhea at the right dose

    do you know if your anti vinculin antibodies affect nerves in the rest of your body, or just the gut? you mentioned nerve pain and mcas, i have muscle loss in limbs and hands, and pins needles/burning/numbness since sibo for 2 years, wondering if you have any of the same.

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a good question that I do not know the exact answer to. I would imagine it is localized to the gut but I don't know for sure. You may be able to call IBS Smart and ask. Nerve pain can be from many different things including MCAS, Bartonella, and maybe even SIBO. If you have systemic symptoms, it's worth looking into other conditions outside of the GI tract (in addition to the GI tract)

    Also, maybe you should check DNRS, which is a course about neuroplasticity and I know people who healed themselves from SIBO and other diseases just retraining and reprogramming the brain with the course. I took it but I still need time to put everything into practice.

    Thanks for all your videos so far which helped a lot. Especially here in Europe where bartonella and Lyme are just some imagined diseases for many practitioners.... Concerning sulfur intolerance, I was wondering if you ever tried taking molybdenum? My Mcas got worse when eating foods high in sulfur. For me one point was running out of molybdenum because it is part of the Enzyme sulfitoxidase which breaks down sulfit (toxic) to sulfat. It is also discussed to help with disbyosis in general.Additionally you need the Enzyme for breaking down all exhaust from cars or heating. I had severe breathing problems during the heating season which got better with molybdenum.

    I was told that any antibiotic could or should work for healing sibo because they are killing anything....I know rifaximin is especially for the small intestine. Do I understand that correctly: healing sibo means probably lower mcas reactions and better tolerance of other antibiotics for bartonella?

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What's nice about rifaximin is that it pretty much stays in the small intestine, making it a safe antibiotic. Treating SIBO definitely has the potential to calm down MCAS, which then may help one tolerate treatment for bartonellosis better. It has calmed mine down significantly. I still have a severe case but I was heading towards TPN and now I'm slowly adding foods in. I wish I treated SIBO much earlier in my health journey. Would have saved a lot of money and anguish but everyone's path is different

    • @kathrink.8903
      @kathrink.8903 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds really logical. Adding some foods is a great progress! 🙂! Are you taking any probiotics to build up the microflora again after the antibiotics?

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kathrink.8903 Great question. My GI doc and naturopath both have not recommended probiotics for me yet. I'm still too reactive and they are of the opinion that my food will act as pre-biotics for the good bacteria. Also, Dr. Pimentel has said that we just don't have good scientific data to guide us on probiotics. That doesn't mean they're not useful. It just means the science needs to get better in that area. He also makes the point that SIBO is an overgrowth and a motility problem so adding in more bacteria could in some instances be harmful. So yeah probiotics are a tricky thing for *some* patients

    • @BartonellaBabe

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crohn’s disease is different than hydrogen sulfide SIBO as you probably know. I’m sorry I don’t know that much about Crohn’s disease other than hydrogen sulfide is implicated. There is probably a lot to read about it in the scientific literature

    • @BehindTheBush96
      @BehindTheBush96 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I read Crohn’s is actually associated with H2S SIBO, so they’re not off-base there. I remember reading ulcerative colitis is linked with H2S SIBO as well.
      I did a 1 hour mini crash-course on H2S SIBO that Dr. Nirala Jacobi offers on her website because I couldn’t find any ‘gut specialists’ or even ‘microbiome specialists’ who knew want that about it and I’ve been to a bunch of them that all failed to get me any improvement at all.
      I’m worried I’ll never get any better cause as soon as I eat anything I get so much bloat and I’ve read H2S makes H2S producing bacteria 1,000X more antibiotic resistant… and I get even slower motility and more constipation and bloat that takes a whole week at least to go back down again with aggressive Pepto Bismol etc. and not diarrhea, but the symptoms don’t improve after years of trying to treat this 😔
