    Sulphur sensitivity due to gliotoxin / fungal colonization exposure, hugely under-reported connection.

    Totally agree, I was stuck in the restrictive diets mode for a long time. Learned even eating small amounts of tough foods was helpful, gradually increase.

    My joints get so inflamed when I eat sulfur. I am stuck with chronic SIBO due to a loop in my small intestine. I'll never be without it 😞

    You are amazing!!! Thank you Nicole. Your videos have shown up in my life at the perfect moment. I've been struggling to get my doctors to understand what's going on with my gut and overall health for the past few months. I have really bad histamine intolerance, and I'm sure it originated from a high meat/fat diet as you said. I did NOT know this before. I also had a flatline SIBO breath test, but my GI MAP showed high levels of H2S bacteria. Your videos have helped me so much in understanding and navigating my situation. I've tried so many things and some things worked, specifically the things you mention in your videos. I can't believe I have finally found someone who cna provide information about H2S SIBO. This is incredible. Please keep doing what you're doing. You are saving lives in a way. Thank you.

      I can't relate to going to the doctors but I can definitely relate to being on a carnivore/keto diet and experiencing the high histamine intolerance as well. Shit got me so depressed and hopeless at the time. But when I found out that I had H2S (from researching why my gas smelled like disgusting rotten eggs), It gave me hope to finally fight this dragon that I had been dealing with for 6 years of my wasted life.

    Interesting that the carnivore diet appears to work really well in UC in spite of all of the sulfur.

    Thank you so much! I am still left with so many questions but I appreciate your well researched information. I was already vegan but I have been trying to eat very few fodmaps for months now while waiting for tests results but it totally makes sense that I should stop this if it hasn’t been making feel better!

    Hey Nicole! A question, does H2S bacteria overgrow because of low stomach acid? Low stomach acid causes protein and fat indigestion. The undigested protein and fat can't be broken down by bile and pancreatic enzymes, than the H2S bacteria thrive on undigested protein and bile that can't break down the undigested fat? Is this theory plausible?

    NO desulphubrio / klebsiella and about 15 other specific H2S producing bacteria do this. Its far more complex than u are making it. However i agree about your non restrictive eating. You need to educate yourself.
    Start with learning about molybdenum, matcha codonopsis

    I love your videos Dr. D! I have high methane and high disulfovibrio overgrowths.. I did low sulfur for a short while and notice no difference! I’m bringing some of those high fodmap high sulfur veggies back in.. any other great tips? Thanks for the work that you do ❤️🙏

    I did a vegan low fodmap diet b4 doing the herbal protocol for methane sibo. Never went back because my gut feeling is/was that diverse wholefood vegan diet will recreate a diverse microbiome. I hoped the sulfide sibo would go away on such a diet but it did not, tired of smelly gas, bloating, chronic fatigue.
    On a side note, I never restricted sulfur rich foods and apart from chronic sibo I haven’t caught a cold for 3 years so immunity can’t be impaired.

    I’ve tried every diet. You are correct that low fodmap and meats make it worse. I felt great doing a 27 day grape fast symptom wise like akathisia depression anxiety. I still got gas really bad though. I didn’t take any antimicrobial or bismuth. I also felt good eating only crucifer vegetables but I was also putting a lot of coconut oil on it like a freaking broth. Every time my doctor tries to get me to go back to the freaking Paleo diet with the meat. I get the really bad diarrhea again going all plant-based it went away. I Recently Added back chicken this week and I noticed that the diarrhea is back. I know that chicken breast is really high in sulfur.

    wow. so helpful. but so confusing. i am already vegan, since 2016. would you say this could have had a negative impact on my biome? my doctor is wanting to treat me for H2S sibo and said i should follow a low sulfur diet but based on your definition of low sulfur (avoiding meat cheese and eggs) i already do that. i’ll check out the next video! thanks!!

      @gutmicrobiomequeen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmmmmm... well, first of all, a low Sulfur diet isn't necessary for treating H2S and it might even make you feel worse. So, I wouldn't sweat that piece of it.

    Carnivore is much better than low foodmap for severe sibo cases but in case of h2s sibo I am not sure..

    thank you so much for this video! i was diagnosed with SULT1A1 genetic defect this past summer and have had a hard time coming across any information online about it. Does the info in this video pertain to this specific genetic defect? Do you have any resources you might be able to point me towards to learn more about what diet I should be following with this genetic defect, and if that diet changes at all during pregnancy? Thank you!

    What are your thoughts since I was on one of these really restrictive diets while I was on a lot of the really restrictive diets for three years I ended up getting down to five foods after I get rid of sibo and sifo what do you think about a vegetable mash to build the gut microbio back up to where I could start adding foods back in to where I’m not having oral tolerance to everything?

    In one of your videos in the past you talk about sometimes needing to boost your immune system if your having immune system issues. How does one do that exacting?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the nature of what's going on with the person! My first thoughts would be:
      - Ensuring you're eating enough calories
      - Making sure you're getting enough Zinc
      - Astragalus (herb)
      - Eleuthero (herb)
      Hope this helps!

    So I am curious, if someone has major symtoms of H2s only when they eat high fodmap & things like fruit, beans, peas, etc… but not from meat dairy or eggs?? What does that even mean?

    So if FODMAP foods restricted H2s producing bacteria, why do FODMAPs promote H2S in some people. I don't understand how it can work both ways, could you explain?
