Got mine 4 weeks ago.. absolutely love it..
Fantastic, it’s a awesome bike to ride I was certainly impressed. Enjoy 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
It's awesome to hear that the S1000XR caters well to both riders and passengers. Thanks for the detailed review!
Our pleasure!
When you put the bike in the Dynamic Pro setting the exhaust sounds a lot better with pops and bangs on the overrun.
That’s good to know, I didn’t really get to open it up so didn’t realise that 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
I will try
I had a 2018 XR and just picked up a Gravity Blue one The M endurance chain is standard on all bikes not just the M package. Have to get the panniers painted as BMW does not have blue lids yet. In USA not complicated all the standard bikes come with premium package and other than the panniers and radiator guard you don't need much else I did get the bike wired for a Garmin XT2 as I find it the best option for trips rather than the connect ride cradle
That’s fantastic news. I didnt know that about the M Chain. One great bike all round. It certainly impressed me, a shame it wasn’t all ready ran in because I would of like to pushed it a bit more. It was a pleasure to ride. Enjoy your new bike 🏍️ 💨💨💨💨
Just as an aside: I don't know which country you're talking about (USA?), but it's not true that the M-chain is standard in all configurations everywhere. At least in the Europe/Czech Republic, Austria, Germany (the country of the motorcycle manufacturer) the M-chain is only standard if you choose the M-package option. In the other two model variants it is not standard and is only available at an extra cost. I have now looked at the BMW Motorrad UK website, there it is the same. In the configurator, the M-chain (on the Sport/GravityBlue and Black Storm Metallic variants) ) is only available at an extra cost of 155 British pounds. So when you ordered the GravityBlue variant, did they give you a free M-chain? Aha. or you bought it in the US - bcoz´n USA all the standard bikes come with premium package :-) as you write.

Great meeting you and your partner yesterday at Ashby Folville Bike meetup Simon....Really enjoy the channel
Cheers Mick. Nice to meet you to buddy. Great turnout. I see you at the next one 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
Your insights on its performance and features are super helpful. Keep up the great work
Much appreciated!
Was on my list, but went for Multistrada V4S - very happy with the choice
It’s always a tough decision but BMW and Ducati don’t make bad bikes. I personally prefer the looks of the Ducati but ultimately it’s what you want out of a bike, the smaller wheel in the XR is Sharpe on the road, it feel sporty for sure. It’s a bit tall for me on the seat height but I did like the ride.
Same with me. But I got a V4 Pikes Peak and I couldn't have done better. Especially since I borrowed a new S1KXR for a weekend at the dealer a month ago and had the opportunity to compare the sports/technical/travel values of both particular bikes (not talking about price). Pikes Peak fits me personally much better (bio: 183cm, 90kg), I am very, very satisfied. Sure the XR is an excellent motorcycle, but for me the Pikes Peak is a much better model. Only the consumption is higher (I ride on average 6,8l/100km, I am a solo rider) yes, Ducatis V4 engines are thirsty. But who buys this type of motorcycle and equipment, then this is not an issue.
@@hewlett62 I am also on a Pikes peak but tempted to try one of these--even the M1000XR and install the S1000XR rear end for bags. 650i had a recent video of dynos of the M1000XR; the PP and the RS. The BMW motor was really impressive in it have good torque and crazy top HP (19X). It was 40 pounds lighter than a PP, as well. I love my PP but always looking. What did you not like as well on the S1000XR? Thanks.
Wow, the 2024 BMW S1000XR looks incredible! Your review really highlights its versatility and cutting-edge technology. Can't wait to see how it handles different terrains. Great job!
Glad you like it
Glad you like it. Great bike I was only just scratching the surface of its capabilities
sharing this around🔥
Appreciate that
This in-depth review is just what I needed! The BMW S1000XR seems perfect for long rides and adventure trips.
Glad it was helpful!
An adventure ride? Yes, let's say so. For me, an adventurous ride equals a long one :-). And by long ride, I mean 300km or more a day? Then watch your seat. Even though on this new model they've tweaked it somewhat compared to the older models (negative feedback from users), I can't imagine long rides (outside of an iron butt race). And I have an athletic build and a fairly muscular butt. Unfortunately for the S100XR I have a comparison: the V4 Pikes Peak, the Ducati seat is comfort, seat anatomy completely somewhere else -) from my practical experience. I expect someone to quickly post here that they have an S1KXR and put hundreds of miles a day on it and it feels great - OK. Congratulations. However, I stand by my opinion that the Ducati V4 series has a much better standard seat.
@@hewlett62 PP. might have a better stock seat--I own one--but I opted for the heated seat option right away. BMW has seat options as well, that will probably work.
Very nice bike. It’s one of my current short list WANT bike.
Good choice!, its a great versatile bike. I don’t think you would get the use out of the M version, but this one is great fun. It was just a little tall for me but a lower seat would sort that out
I'm surprised you got out of LE without road works , it's your lucky day 🤣🤣 , and you get to ride some nice kit sir👍👍
Cheers buddy. Midweek ride isn’t so bad on the roads 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
As a pillion rider, comfort is a top priority for me. ❤️
It is for me to, I do have to consider the Mrs
Wait 'till after the first service when dynamic pro becomes available!
This was a bit restrictive
Very good video. Do you think this XR is more confortable than a 1300gs or V4S ??
Interesting question and a difficult one to answer. I don’t fine either of them uncomfortable but if I had to choose one I would say the XR felt the best.
A brit a blonde and a bike had one if I remember correctly and it had issues with the forks leaking.
Any issues on a brand new bike would surely be covered under warranty
@@thatbikersimon It was a 2017 model and the fork issue started just after it was out of warranty. The dealer replaced the fork seals but it did not fix the problem. His wife did not like it as a pillion (too much wind in the face). They traded it in for a GS1250. The warranty issues with the bike are discussed at 17.30 in the video. th-cam.com/video/_KNoaSVHPCc/w-d-xo.html.
That’s a lot of options gets a bit complicated for me 🤷🏼♀️
Lots and
Lots but that’s great for people that don’t need everything on the bike. The TE version I rode was well specked
Not riden the XR yet but looks a bit out my price range
It’s not cheap but excellent quality 🏍️💨💨💨👌
Very Nice
Thanks
It's much better for the pillion when the padded top box is added.
Very true
How does this XR fair against the V4 Multistrada?
For me personally I would have the multistrada but saying that it would need to be the pikes peak because of the 17in front wheel. The XR is to tall for me and doesn’t have the quality of the v4. Its still a great bike but overall Ducati beats it on a few things. Also you have to consider Ducati is more expensive
I bought one of the last run out models at a great price with luggage. At 6'2" the stock screen is rubbish. The wind noise is appalling and you can hear it in this video. You almost cannot hear the engine. I bought an MRA X-Creen to replace the stock screen and all the wind noise is gone. Best money spent.
I think you definitely have the advantage with your height, it’s a tall bike and that’s interesting about the screen, I’m sure people reading these comments will find that useful
Hey mate.
Got my ride.
Just bought last week an 25y old Freewind, with original 5000km(History proofed) in Mint Condition for 3500€ quit.
Now have to customize it.
EDIT: An Bike, that costs 27Grand is ridiculous, even it is an Beeemdubbleyou. 😂 For that Money i buy an very, very good road car. Maybe 2 in one Day.
Nice one 👍

Upps. Early Bird mate? Its 6.30 am!
@@brummil always up early 😎
So its the Supersport S of BMW
Crosstourer adventure sports I would say. A very good all rounder
The XR 1000 is not the best for passengers. The GS would be better.
Yes the GS is undoubtably a comfortable pillion ride but I prefer the sporty engine in the XR
