The ordinary Yaris (the hatchback) is a full-on Toyota though.. it's the latest 'Yaris sedan' (nee: Scion iA, then Toyota Yaris iA after the Scion brand got the axe) that is actually a Mazda 2 in disguise.
I would honestly love to see both the hatchback and sedan under the TNGA platform (same treatment done with the new Camry, Avalon, Corolla, and RAV4, which are all awesome new vehicles from the brand) for the next Yaris, and Mazda to bring back the 2 here in North America.
Considering how Mazda is one of the most underrated automotive industries that are small, they deserve a lot more attention than you think.

Scotty. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with 160000 miles on it. Runs amazing and regular routine maintenance. However every time I go to the gas station to fill up, my truck cuts off when I have to press the brakes a little hard to slow down or stop. Should I be concerned and/or what can I do to make sure my truck last for me. It only does this after I fill up. After a quarter of a tank burns off it's back to normal. And I have tried three gas treatments three different times.

As a previous Kia optima owner (2008) , my experience with Kia and Hyundai was pretty good. I got the optima back in 08 as the original owner (This is the time frame when Kia and Hyundai's were built to be cheap) and while it was cheap , It was a reliable car (I got rid of it in 2014 with about 284k and replaced it with with one of my current dailys , a 2015 Lexus es). Modern Kia's and Hyundai's have improved quality wise (I sat in the newer optima and sorento and had to keep remind myself that this was Korean and not German).

Hi Scotty. About Hyundai, I gotta tell You my experiance.
Long time ago I bought 5 years old Elantra 2002, and had it for two yerars. Zerro problems, just oil changes. Than I bought a newer one, 2 jears old and had it for 8 years, put 90.00 miles on it. Everything i've done was timing belt change (thanks for your video ), one brake pads change and one spark plug changes. And of course regular oil changes. Than in 2016 I've purchased a new Hyundai i20, just fill it up with gasoline and drive.
My wife bought a new Hyundai i20 in 2010, had it for six years and absolutly nothing went wrong, nut even a light bulb. Now she is driving Hyundai i10 for 2 years, nothing wrong either.
Same expirience got my father, who is also driving Hyundais for 10 years now.
Yeah, they are a litle bit chip made, but about a Toyota Yaris first models, they where horific too.
So, if You ask me, Hyundai is an excellent car maker.

I love my Toyota, Sienna! I bought a 2000 with about 180,000 miles on it in 2015 for $1000, put about $2000 into it, and it's been running great since. They are also known to be one of the safest vehicles on the road. I love mt Toyota!

Hi Scotty, love your show. I'm thinking of buying a used 2017 honda odyssey SE. What do you think about it. I know Toyota are good but I found this one at a really good deal. How are the Honda's engines and transmissions on these vans- Adrian Gutierrez from San Francisco
