But I pretend it's my girlfriend talking and Im saying whatever to her. Bc i said it once and she punched me so I dont get to....but the bitch talks a ton of shit. But she got a big ol booty so I deal. Oh and I love her or something.
just when i think i know everything there is to know about skyrim, this guy proves me wrong. had no idea about the torch making it easier to lockpick (which makes sense) and the way the pick breaks is where the sweet spot is. im starting a hunter/theif character so this works perfectly
that random spanner that likes cheese I don't think anyone will argue with that.but I dont have the money or time to build a pc so for me a ps4 Will have to do
The trick about the torch is inside one of the books that levels up your lock pick: the thief that wrote it actually gives some tips about how to pickpocket.
The Elder Scrolls VI: A Shopkeeper's Perspective, where one of the skill trees has a perk at the top that enables you to remove baskets from your head. And another lets you buy and sell at intelligent prices.
That immediately made me think of the scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where the german soldier is slowly sinking his bayonet into the american soldiers chest while saying the same thing...gave me chills watching it...
Before you get access to a fence, stealing animal skins and turning them into leather, or ingots and turning them into something else via blacksmithing also removes the stolen tag. You don't get as much gold for them, but you do get some.
Here's another good tip, if there's an item you really want to take but everyone will see you pick up the item and carry it out of sight. It won't count as stealing. Once you're hidden you can steal the item
Thanks I haven't thought of that, I was trying to do the steal from market Square quest in riften but my character is a bretton so I am too short to see the ring in the display case while crouched
The final perk in the sneak perk tree is the most overpowered thing in skyrim. because it let's you initiate sneak attacks (which cause 15x damage with one of the sneak perks which can be increased to 30x damage with one of the dark brotherhood hand mits) in combat just by crouching.
matthew hurley when in combat you can turn invisible by crouching. This let's you pull off stealth hits. Paired with the 15x and the gloves that multiple sneak damage of one handed weapons by 2 you'll be doing 30x dagar damage. Basically you can one hit everything in the game expect dragons because you can't sneak when they see you.
you dont even need shadow warrior to be overpowered just about 2 or 3 of the first perks making it harder to detect and level up the bow and even at low levels you are making it through anywhere without really raising any attention. sneaky builds are the most overpowered class in this game without taking a long time to be effective where as magic sucks balls in the beginning and warrior takes awhile too.
As a very experienced thief in Skyrim, I would say there are a few more things you can do to be a better thief. The biggest thing that will help you is completing the Thieves Guild quest-line into the Nightingale quest-line up until you have to return the Skeleton Key to the Twilight Sepulcher. DON'T return the key. Instead, keep it. This will allow you to have infinite go's at picking locks and allow you to get into ANYWHERE to can lock-pick. This is the best way to get loot. Also, keep an eye out for the shadowmark for fences. It looks like a kite with a little hat (alternatively just google it). These places/people will buy your stolen wears so you don't have to keep trekking back to the Ragged Flagon. Yes, good thieves work alone but this is a video game and followers are very useful. If you can, stick with Lydia as your follower until your carrying capacity is at a boss level. This is because, the more you change followers, the lower their carrying capacity becomes so stick with the first follower you get. However, if you have the Dawnguard DLC, refuse Lydia and get Serana instead; her stats are MUCH better (if you can deal with her sassy remark) Try to mostly steal light things like gems, coins and jewellery. These will have much higher value than weapons, armor or ingots and also do not weigh NEARLY as much so you can take, keep hold of and sell more. Also another tip is to look for shrines or sacrificial tables (e.g. shrines of Talos or tables used by Foreswarn/Hagravens/necromancers). These have "offerings" such as gold and gems which, if you're a thief, isn't that morally wrong to take - I mean, they're just left out in the open. The Gods aren't going to use them are they? Finally, I would recommend getting the Steed Stone. This increases your carrying capacity so you can carry more stolen goods.
The one good thing about Switch skyrim that aaaalmost makes up for missing out on mods is that the sweet spot on a lock ticks in a different way to all the other ticks, thanks to the controller rumble. I haven’t broken a lockpick once thanks to that!
I think it's sacure system to unable pickpocketing trainers, I pickpocket them anyway, but Im stealing gold from them everytime like 500-1700 gold, thats how I get 100 pickpocketing skill : D
This guy is like the only Skyrim video guide channel you will ever need he makes clean helpful content that isn't clickbait or fake. Personally I would love to see some lore videos from ESO because this guy is the best Skyrim player I have ever seen. Please keep producing the content you have been. It has helped me from a Imperial armor wearing noob to a level 69 Dark brotherhood assassin. So thanks!
Awesome guide. The loot mark tip outside of homes, as well as the direction in which the lock breaks, are incredibly valuable pieces of info. It's amazing what's right in front of our noses in this game, that goes unnoticed. Thanks for the upload.
Guys, I've also found that around the sweet spot for the lock there are little markings, like white spots. It doesn't always help, especially for expert and master, but it always works for lower level locks
I knew everybody playing as thief has something wrong with them. This one tells us how Lockpicks break in the direction of the sweet spot, then when the Lockpick breaks to the left, the player goes further right and finds the Sweetspot immediately.
The most enjoyable Skyrim playthrough I've done so far was being a thief-assassin hybrid. My female wood elf was initially a non-violent thief then moved to being more of an assassin after finishing the Thieves Guild quest line. I got such a rush after eliminating people with stealth kills. Sadly, I think the "daylight robbery" exploit is patched now. Because whenever I placed a bucket or basket on the merchants head, he or she would instinctively move to get the object to object off of their head.
Yeah but it was slightly left from the spot it broke on last time. He doesn't mean it tells you what side of the lock to sweet spot is on, it only tells what direction you might wanna move in if you ever wanna get that lock opened up.
It's crazy, I always think I'm going to click on your videos and learn nothing because everyone posts the same content, but your videos always teach me something new. Thanks man
Waaaait! No "get invisibility spell"? No "just save and pickpocket stuff"? No "find 24 stones of Barenziah"? Also, I've heard rumors about "torch being helpful", but didn't think that actually works in the game xD. Does Khajits "nightvision" work as well? Or any other light spells for that matter? Or is it torch-exclusive? xD
I know this is super old. But for all you Thieves out there I have a little tip. If you’re trying to display stolen items in your house there is a small chance they may glitch out and fall off the rack/wall/display case.... whatever you might be putting them on. Selling your stolen items to a fence and then buying them back negates them being stolen. Allowing you to display them in your house without the glitch. I ran into this with displaying stolen weapons on my weapon racks. Great video btw! Awesome tips!
I like the idea of a thief but I feel it’s better in oblivion or other elder scrolls as being the Dragonborn and being in Skyrim in general makes me feel like a warrior is more appropriate.
This is best heavy armor build for early players. You can get it as soon as you join the Blades and get into Sky Haven Temple. The enchantments are optional. P.S. you can get the Blades sword in the basement of the Sleeping Giant Inn when you first meet Delphine. Blades Armor(Fortify Health/Stamina Regen) Blades Gauntlets(Fortify One Handed) Blades Boots(Fortify Weight Carry) Blades Helmet(Fortify Archery) Blades Shield(Fortify Blocking) Dragonbane Blades Sword(fire/frost/shock damage enchantment) The Steed Stone(+100 weight carry and conditioning for heavy armor) Lastly, I strongly recommend choosing the Path of Might when you read Oghma Infinium when you get it in the quest Discerning the Transmundane given by Septimus Signus, who is found north of the College of Winterhold, at Septimus Signus's Outpost.
Awesome video bud. Keep up the good work started playing skyrim again the new remastered addition for the first time and I am loving it. These videos show me just how little I know about the game. 👍🏽
A quick tip from me if you are trying to build the guild back to full power but hate going on the missions the top I have for you guys is sorta based on luck Ok talk to delvin and ask for the bedlam job (steal 500) now and here's the luck part talk to vex and ask for a sweep job (steal 3 items) if the two jobs are in the same town I.E. sweep out battle born house and bedlam whiterun (same place) its a two for one job Alternatively the bedlam job can be done another two ways 1: stealing an unusual gem (stone of barinzya) p.s. clearly I can't spell) and 2 if you have the other shops open in the ragged flagon you can do the bedlam right there
Maybe the tip about the direction of the lockpick breaking was true at one time, but no longer. It's essentially random. I've tested many times. (I'm on SkyrimVR and have the unofficial patch installed, but I never witnessed it to work in pancake SSE either.) Dated July 2019.
Here's another great trick ... go to the mine south of Riverwood, find the 'secret entrance' ... now walk in, find a dark corner and sneak. ... the enemies will register you, without detecting you, and the skill will climb!
Wow, I just started 3 days ago because Skyrim came with my RV and got even more anxious to play more and more on my new VR headset my loving boyfriend got me for Christmas! I love TH-cam vids on tips n secrets, let’s me faster know a lot more about how to play b4 losing interest.
I'm kind of surprised you didn't mention Arvak in the horse tip. I find him the most useful horse in the game, as you can summon him anywhere outside a mayor city, and because he's a summon you don't have to worry about losing track of him or him dying. Also he's a freaking skeleton horse with purple flames for a mane. Otherwise I loved the video, lots of stuff I didn't know.
Lock picks break in the direction of the sweet spot?!! I've picked so many locks and broken so many picks that I intuitively "sense" the direction of the sweet spot. I knew the game was providing some kind of feedback that I was picking up on subconsciously but never worked it out. Suspicion confirmed!
I didn't realise there were marks left outside houses or on barrels etc. This is quality. Yes I know 2018 and I've just started Skyrim!! Lol but it's awesome. Good video very helpful.
I knew all of these but the torch and lock picking tip. Thanks! But if you're a Khajiit, could you use night eye? Doubt it, but that would be so much more immersive if you could.
The torch thing is actually because of the heat of the torch, one of the lockpicking skill books mentioned it. I just never knew it helped in the actual game.
Maybe that would help with older locks, but lockpicking (at least currently) depends more on touch (feeling the tumblers move and stick). But that would still be interesting.
Your over-encumbrance tips are great, but you’re missing something that I find to be much easier and much more effective, which is using a dead thrall. If you have the dead thrall spell, you can bring or kill somebody into or near the place you plan on robbing, grab all the things, put them in the dead person’s body inventory, and then reanimate them. You can do this with temporary reanimate spells as well, but once you fast travel somewhere, the zombie will follow you and then disintegrate into a dust pile wherever you ended. If that happens, you will have to lug your stuff over to your home, which will still take a while.
I'm pretty sure that the torch thing is false, and most of the tests suffer from confirmation bias, mostly due to people actually testing it with mods that allow you to visualize the sweet spot (which never changed size) and even tried just outside the sweet spot to test it and guess what? The torch did nothing.
Also, I've never once observed that lock pick breaking direction thing, as much as I want to. If someone could actually show me a slowed down video of what to look for, that would be great.
Omg number one is HILARIOUS! And thank you for the lock pick breaking in the right direction tip! I’ve been playing this game for years and there’s still so much to see
Hey ESO. Please notice me because this is really helpful. There is a standing stone called the tower stone. It automatically picks expert level locks and below once a day. Hope i helped someone out.
+HeSoMoe Not necessarily if you consider that open lock magics used to exist, in Oblivion The Tower Birth sign was not that good exactly because of this.
another tip for pickpocketing is quick save just before you do it so in the case you get caught you can just re-load to the point that it didnt happen and just keep trying until you get the stuff u want / need. also decent for if your trying to level pick-pocket without the riften speed level deal

Yes, good thieves work alone but this is a video game and followers are very useful. If you can, stick with Lydia as your follower until your carrying capacity is at a boss level. Try to mostly steal light things like gems, coins and jewellery. I've played so much skyrim and there's still always so much more to learn this game will always be my favorite
#6 - how do steal the WHOLE of markarth???
I'm also curious I want 8000 corundum
I think it was a joke about what Markarth's architecture is composed of, as I believe Corundum may be an ingredient in Dwarven metal
I am so impressed right now. Ive played as a thief so much, I thought I knew it all but obviously not. Liked and subscribed.
Maybe the tip about the direction of the lockpick breaking was true at one time, but no longer. It's essentially random. I've tested many times. (I'm on SkyrimVR and have the unofficial patch installed, but I never witnessed it to work in pancake SSE either.) Dated July 2019.
Ive never been a successful thief in skyrim, but have always wanted to be! This will help me loads. Thank you ESO ! ^_^
Here's another great trick ... go to the mine south of Riverwood, find the 'secret entrance' ... now walk in, find a dark corner and sneak. ... the enemies will register you, without detecting you, and the skill will climb!
Shopkeeper: *gets basket placed on head*
Hello darkness my old friend...
Wow, I just started 3 days ago because Skyrim came with my RV and got even more anxious to play more and more on my new VR headset my loving boyfriend got me for Christmas! I love TH-cam vids on tips n secrets, let’s me faster know a lot more about how to play b4 losing interest.
"Just waddle over to your local stable and purchase a horsie."
The crack in the lockpick showing where the sweet spot is, is such a great touch.
While lock picking look at where the lock pick matches with the background. It help with harder locks. Hope it helps
What
You make the best Skyrim video walk-throughs.
Never knew about the shadow marks, very interesting and helpful. Also having the companion with you to open the boxes is brilliant.
ESO you never fail to deliver! Very well made video, yet again ;D
Hahah so early always good to watch some skyrim vids von Eso :)
Started Skyrim SE from beginning after long time and i'm fascinated with that basket trick, masterful!!!
5:58 and its especially useful if you have dawnguard dlc to get the spell ‘summon arvak’ because you can use it to summon a horse
Or Summon Kykrim, if you have Odin or Apocalypse mod installed.
Are orcs you're favourite race ESO???? ....... they sure as hell are mine
His are Khajiit :3
Snailybob I don't think so .... I mean his highest level character is an orc
No, he's said that his favorite is a Khajit.
Abhishek Salandri in what video
BloodBathGaming Guy A lot of videos, also check one of the top comments he says his fave is Khajiit :D
You have committed crimes against Skyrim and her people, what say you in your defence?
Take me to jail
Ain't nobody got time for that
I'd rather die than to to prison!!!!!!!!!!
I’m part of the guild. Maybe we could forget this whole thing?
I didn't realise there were marks left outside houses or on barrels etc. This is quality. Yes I know 2018 and I've just started Skyrim!! Lol but it's awesome. Good video very helpful.
I knew all of these but the torch and lock picking tip. Thanks! But if you're a Khajiit, could you use night eye?
Doubt it, but that would be so much more immersive if you could.
The torch thing is actually because of the heat of the torch, one of the lockpicking skill books mentioned it. I just never knew it helped in the actual game.
Erik Lewis interesting, although I think in a dark dungeon the Khajiit should get a bonus with night eye, that would be so immersive.
Maybe that would help with older locks, but lockpicking (at least currently) depends more on touch (feeling the tumblers move and stick). But that would still be interesting.
I thought I knew everything about skyrim. Thief shadow marks, and the gear drops blew my mind!
If that happens, you will have to lug your stuff over to your home, which will still take a while.
could you use this with the ritual stone? i was concerned the thrall would just disappear
Man I'm late but ESO your content is very helpful so glad I found you on youtube
I should be playing Skyrim right now, but this one bandit keeps kicking my ass
thanks I've been playing Skyrim for years and haven't noticed these tips
I’ve been playing for about 7 years and never knew what those marks were. I didn’t even bother to look it up.
Oof
I didnt even see them
I didn’t know about tips 10-8. Keep up the amazing work!
Gallent Bristle did you even watch this video?
probably too busy watching my little pony
Yes, in fact I did watch the video. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known what to comment on. Also, I haven't actually watched mlp in quite a while.
You're right, it doesn't work. It's just an urban legend.
I've been trying to make an Assassin/Archer build and this and your archer guide helped a good bit.
Still waiting for the 'thief mods' video.
Omg number one is HILARIOUS! And thank you for the lock pick breaking in the right direction tip! I’ve been playing this game for years and there’s still so much to see
Everytime ESO says major cities I always hear Mage's cities.
you can also youse the tower stone to auto-open locks.
Last
Original. I like it.
that's like infinitely more wrong tho
TheRealSlimShady
nope .
you are not .
Not any more lololol
ESO you make the best skyrim thief videos and skyrim build and tips videos!
Hey ESO. Please notice me because this is really helpful. There is a standing stone called the tower stone. It automatically picks expert level locks and below once a day. Hope i helped someone out.
no
it's a normal standing stone. I think it's east of dawn star and it's on a cliff. Just activate it. It's easy!
Bab00n 5465 Good standing stone but loses the immersion
+HeSoMoe Not necessarily if you consider that open lock magics used to exist, in Oblivion The Tower Birth sign was not that good exactly because of this.
Another great guide. Very useful! And LOL at the basket tip. =)
Eso, how do you steal the contents of Markarth or is that just a joke?
These are great tips! Especially the one about followers being able to pick locks
I literally laughed to myself when I watched #1!😂
another tip for pickpocketing is quick save just before you do it so in the case you get caught you can just re-load to the point that it didnt happen and just keep trying until you get the stuff u want / need. also decent for if your trying to level pick-pocket without the riften speed level deal
