Mighty RA aight so if you do some Special Jobs™️ from the Guild in order to get a sleeveless set called by killing/pickpocketing a Summerset Shadow named Linwe. Or, if you have the Dragonborn DLC, hit up Glover Mallory in Solstheim, do his (pretty easy) quests, and he will give you access to a pretty dope room in his house.
Mighty RA if you got Dragonborn, go to raven rock, talk to Glover Mallory (have to be in thieves guild to make it work), say you notice the shadowmark on his door, go through dialogue, he’ll tell you to go to castle Karstaag caverns or whatever, grab the improved bonemold from the dead guy, don’t f with the Rieklings or whatever, get back out, give Glover the thing, he’ll give you key to his house, go down stairs open door, blackguard armor will be in display cases, can get this done in like 15 mins
Whats nice is once you complete most of the thieves guild quest and return the skeleton key you get a option to pick a power to become invisable so you wont need the shadow stone

Blackguard's armor is really easy to get and you can get it as early as you want. You don't have to fight anything in Soltheim to get it. All you need to do is get the quest after you get in the Thieves guild and speak afterwards to Vex about it and then Delvin. Then travel to Soltheim and get the quest from the blacksmith. That way you have a 25% to prices and 40% to pickpocketing really early.
Seriously, fuck the speech skill. I played a thief build and sold EVERYTHING and after completing the Thief Guild, DB, Main quest and DLCs it was at 50.
I have a build idea that is pretty fun so listen up! So he's a breton who uses the transmute spell to change iron and silver ore that he mines into gold. He smiths the gold into jewelry like a goldsmith to make a living. he is a mage character who uses conjuration to summon creatures to kill and give the enemies something to focus on, illusion so confuse his enemies (or if they get to close because he doesn't really use destruction magic) to kill his foes. Followers are also a plus and i like to use them with this build. Now of course you can be whatever race you wanna be but I think that a Breton is very fitting for this build. I have played this build and it is really fun to play. I dunno if fudgemuppet will read this but if they do this is a great idea for one of your builds and it would be pretty cool to see it up. And a name like the gold smith is pretty badass in my personal opinion
It is unfortunate that basic Skyrim has weightless lock picks and gold. It removes the necessity to invest in lockpicking. I always invest in lockpicking, whenever I play a thief character, both on console and on pc. On pc I use mods to add weight to picks and gold, which for me makes the game more enjoyable, as amount of picks and gold carried now have concequences.
Get the Ordinator mod, it makes the worst skill trees like Lockpicking and Speech more than worth it in amazing and lore-friendly ways. You can hack dwarven robots to be your mates, and send a rabbit to fetch you stuff. I can't imagine any build without that mod now.
My idea of a excellent thief is someone that wears a disguise to blend in with their surroundings, here's what I have in mind for enchantments for extra thievery proficiency, Torso clothing: Fortify alteration, and fortify illusion (because the clothing you'll be wearing won't actually be armor, just clothing, and you'll need alteration and illusion in case you run into trouble) Headwear/Circlet: Fortify lockpicking (won't need this if you're that good at lockpicking) and fortify restoration (for some extra insurance) Gloves: Fortify pickpocket and fortify sneak (why the hell is sneak fortification a enchantment for gloves in Skyrim?) Boots: Fortify carry weight (if you want idc) and muffle. Ring: Whatever you think will benefit your sneaky and thief like needs. Amulet: Same as previous. mk I'm done. Oh wait I forget to mention fortify barter, that makes selling prices better.
I think imperials are great for thieves cause if you are caught you can use voice of the emporer because it calms enemies enough for you to fast travel or just run
not to mention they have a racial 10% chance to find extra gold in literally every thing they open, i still prefer Khajiit though, be an actual cat burglar with natural night vision goggles :D

Wait a minute..... When he was talking about the Wood Elves' bonuses, he mentioned that they had +5 bonus to alchemy. Due to the roleplay of the Bosmer people (the Green Pact).......... How the hell does that make any sense?
The forgemaster build As the name suggests the forgemaster has maxed out their smithing and craft their own armor and weapons More than that though the forgemaster is more than a mere smith as he is also a master enchanter able to create weapons of great power and armor that can provide incredible benefits to the wearer They are a master of speachcraft thus ensuring they receive only the best prices for their wears, after all skill is only half of being a smith, the other is convincing others to but your wares The forgemaster can wield most any weapon though personally I go for the sword and shield, the forgemaster is a Nord though you can make them almost any race you like The forgemaster will NOT use magic as while they see the merit in enchanting their faith is in things he has made with his own hands Being a Dragonborn the forgemaster Ofcourse will be a master of the Thuum and eventually will Don a set of dragonbone armor as he is a master dragon hunter (can provide a story if you are interested fudge muppet)
idea for a fallout 4 build ( No I am not a big mgs fanboy.)( MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) Big Boss High charisma, strength , intelligence, endurance. Was a colonel in the army . Always wanted a private army. Joins the minuteman not because of goodness but because he can be leader. Joins brotherhood only for the vertibirds. Destroys the Prydwen so the minuteman will have their own chopper. Uses unarmed and highly advanced weapons . pacifys since they can be counted as new recruits. Preferred companion is Preston since he is a subordinate. Uses power armour. Preferred gear is Heavy polymered combat armor with ballistic weave mark 5 clean military fatigues. uses fully upgraded assault rifles, fully upgraded plasma weapons, fists. Stealth perks melee perks all weapon damage increasing perks. Favours base building. Especially at the Castle since it is the closest to a military base. Introduces standardized uniform and armour for all minuteman.(Ballistic weave army fatigues and heavy combat armour) Wants to make the minuteman the most powerful faction in the Wasteland. Uses X01 mark 6 with jetpack
Love Thief builds. I've got a few tweaks i think would enhance the character. Imperial. Imperials naturally find more gold wherever it can be found. They have the Voice of the Emperor ability. Which will be extremely useful if you are caught thieving and end up having an army of Bandits coming at you. You shout at them, calming them, then quickly disappear in to the shadows. Just don't get caught twice in one day! Steed Stone. +100 carry weight. Mo pockets mo loot. Armor weighs nothing, meaning you move faster and it also reduces your chances of being detected. (Thief stone until you have a few perks in Sneak) Only use a dagger. Thieve's Guild usually frown on killing. A true thief would not see a group of Bandits as enemies that need to be put down, but instead they see homeless thieves and beggars. They don't need to die simply because they have something he wants... Unless he is getting paid to do it, of course. Sneak your way to your prize instead of killing everyone in sight. Use the crossbow if want to use archery. They're loud so make sure you're well hidden when using it. But it's smaller than a bow and the bolts are more discreet. Easier to carry. Something more discreet and silent would be good - *Requesting blow pipe mod!* Alchemy. If someone needs to die, it's done by poison. And that is only if they absolutely must die. If someone stands in your way you drink an invisibility potion to slip by. If there is no other way around, use a Fear poison and a light stab to get rid of them. Sell only to fences if you're with the guild. Every Septim you earn, every gem you take, every shirt you pluck from someone's back should be shared with your fellow thieves. You sell to the middle-man and they make a profit to go in to the guild's pocket. Don't be OP and balance the game. You specialize in sneaking and bargaining. You aren't a mercenary so you won't have crazy defense or sword skills. If you get caught you're in trouble! Rely on your sneak attacks to deliver big damage with your dagger if needed. Your armor is designed for carrying loot, not for tanking hits, so limit your Agile Defender perks. Rely on your poisons to fend off enemies while you run for the shadows. Wear clothes around town and only wear your armor when on a mission or treasure hunting. Blend in to the crowd. You aren't a shady character in a hood, you're just a passing pilgrim looking for a bargain. A mix between role playing and a pet hate for me. It always bugged me how someone can walk around a city in TG or DB armor without everyone freaking out.

The Assassin build is like the opposite of The Thief build, but sneak and one-handed is primary, while archery is secondary for the assassin, while the Thief build does not really use spells, and primarily uses the the bow and sneak. COOOOOLLLL!
Personally I prefer to be an Imperial, you got balanced on most skills, and you get extra gold, upping the reason for a thief. Also, you're daily power is great for escaping
My thief is a traditional Bosmer born in Valenwood. Exactly like a Bosmer from the “Is it worth it” series... He’s on a personal thieves guild resurrection mission, and similar to this video as far as siding with the empire. After he’s gotten the thieves guild back on track of course. Plus he’s a little dead inside. With dreams of nightingale gear. Mainly because it looks so cool... Which will resurrect his vain soul.
Hey Fudgemuppet, for a future build, you should try using the alchemists shack as the player home. It would be good for a character that prefers to be secluded and uses a bit of alchemy. The location functions similar to a house as items placed in the containers here do not disappear. I think it would add a bit more to the roleplaying aspect if you talked about using it as a home.
My main Skyrim character is a nord thief but he’s an allrounder & a werewolf xD I use magic as a supplement like alchemy, alteration, illusion & fire spells w/the occasional conjuration useful for breaking out of prison & summoning weapons. Enchanting is useful for any build.
Fallout 4 Synth Build Please, back story revolves around implanted memories of Shaun's father/mother which are altered to think he/she wasn't killed during the recovery of Shaun. The player will then find out he is a synth slowly over dialog with; Kellogg, Nick Valentine, and Shaun.
If u r making this type of their that he is suggesting then when u get nightingale armour then mix and match them bc some of the pieces r quite useful such as the boots which r muffles ur feet so u r harder to hear and the gloves that give u 15% lock picking and makes it where u do more dmg with one handed weapons, this will also make it where u can do backstabs with even more dmg.
I watched all your Skyrim builds on your channel i decided i wanted to make mine well explain the build i went with on my character. Its called : The Storm-caller You are a Conjuration / Destruction / Alteration mage also you will use bound sword when needed to you want to level conjuration asap and same with alteration. you need Storm atronach and ebony flesh to stay alive The back story (only for role play purposes) You are a native of Marrow Wind a Dunmer (Dark Elf) and you were born in a harsh family on solsteim in order to get a living you wanted to study magics so you spent a lot of time getting spell tomes and learning you loved conjuration you were mostly lonely until you were strong enough to conjure a Familiar wolf he was your best friend always helping you. But as you grew to the adult stage you started expanding learning new things and you heard for the College of winter-hold so you set out knowing good routes you traveled to Cyrodiil first then to skyrim, On the way there you find Lokir the horse thief you get caught up with him and imperials get you both by surprise (once you escape helgen you want to do a part of the story and get your first shout then head to the College) you later find out you are dragonborn and when you do you know that you have the Spark of creation. First time doing that sort of thing hope you guys liked it hehe

Rusted Blades So basically you are a wood elf living a privileged life in the Somerset isle. As soon as you are able to you join the army because of your skills with a bow and arrow. With the army, on a trip out to valenwood you and your friends get lost at night and have to survive for days. You love both the bosmer way of life and the wilderness. Your life becomes consumed by the hunt and the survival skills you had to utilize. Packing a small bag you announce that you are going to travel tamriel, you will really be surviving in the wild. Years go by and an old friend in the military comes to visit you in valenwood, this is unusual as you are a hard man to find. He is a member of the dark brotherhood and one of there scouts had their eye on you. You accept his invitation seeing it as a way to re introduce in society after many, many years. Life in the brotherhood is good, you treat your kills like a good hunt and the moral effects don't harm your wild soul. This is until one day you get married and prepare to leave the brotherhood. They do not take to this kindly and you wake up to see your same friend killing your wife. In a frenzy you kill him and as many brotherhood members you get your hands on. Picking out the ones who where good to you, you and your now allies travel the the wilderness. You can't count how many years go by but you know it has been a lot. You are but a hollow shell of what you used to be, still however, with a deadly bow and dagger. You see many things from deadra to bandits on your travels and kill anyone who comes in your path, however, unless they prove hostile you leave them a lone. One day you are caught on the border of heaven ect ect. When in skyrim you will re introduce into society, possibly going to the brotherhood due to its tighter niched family and feeling of regret that you likely had something to do with there demise. the players can join the thieves guild if they wish and the companions is a good choice due to the affinity for the hunt. He will complete the main question with it at the back of his head though. He will side with the imperials because he understands the power of the dominion and that the empire is the only hope.

My thief build was a hoarder to an extreme. She stole all she could that had value & wanted to nab everything seen as rare or one of a kind. Ariel's Bow & Shield, Daedric artifacts, dragon priest masks & staves and of course gems galore. If its not nailed to the floor & is worth selling, it was hers. Roleplay wise it was simply that she just loved to steal but also wanted to amass a fortune so her family back in Blackmarsh would never have to have financial worries ever again She had a mix of Blackwatch armor (hood & chestpiece) and Deathbrand armor (gloves & boots) to max out carry capacity. She also had a knapsack (role-play & actual carry capacity increase), got the dremora butler (extra 180 carry), has the Atherium Crown to hold the Steed Stone ability and of course bought every available home where she could use as safe houses to store all her loot She was so much fun to play until my extended storage got corrupted... Rest Easy, Minderni/Lifts-Your-Loot. You were a damn great thief and a damn great friend
Every playthrough of Skyrim I play starts with the focus on three skills the work for any build. Smithing, enchanting, and alchemy. With these three skills you can make gear that will make daedric artifacts look like toys. The potions you make are also legendary in their power and fetch a price that only a king could afford.
If you want to role play sure don't go for a companion, BUT having a companion and a spectral assassin when you join the dark brotherhood is awesome when you are in sticky situations. They both will tank so you can lurk off to the side and pepper enemies with arrows.
I made a breton thief so I can use a bit of magic/illusion at the start to cause some mayhem and conjuration to distract others when I get spotted. Also for rp reasons. Any race is viable, it's nice to have a boost at the start but later it doesn't really matter anymore. that's the beauty of skyrim.
Theives also use alchemy! Gotta bump up weapon damage, calm someone after a failed pickpocket, or send a powerful enemy into frenzy while you hide in the shadows! Alchemy is also a means to invisibility, critical when in a tight spot, plus a high selling item.
I'm going for a duel wielding vampiric dagger theif I use too much archery in every other playthrough so I'm going to try to ignore it in this one I don't really care for character backstory but my main skills will be Sneak, Speach, One handed, pickpocket, lock pick (taking no lockpick perks as they're useless) and also alchemy Plan is to get enough money to buy a heart fire home, build a paralysis farm and use that as a way to get my way out of dangerous situations, progress through theif guild as well as dark brothrrhood not sure if I'll bother with civil war as of yet Going to use ebony mail the dagger obtained by dawnstar quest... not sure about what else to do As for your races you recommend i always use wood elf and i dislike characters with tails so I'll go imperial
For some reason my thieves have at least a little bit of Illusion, I usually go with the silent casting perk so I can cast Fury or Frenzy if I get caught or even pacify
You wanna grab Cicero's gloves too man! Nothing can be better than x30 damage for daggers. On any difficulty that is an insta kill for pretty much anything
+Matthew Almond A fully leveled thief fight goes like this, crouch to activate shadow walker at least I think that's what it's called then immediately attack to get that 30x damage boost=everything dies, literally everything, and of course have an ebony dagger and power attack maybe a few enchantments if you really want to be powerful. Oh and it's always fun to walk up to someone casually crouch attack and then suddenly you've teleported behind them for the assination.
Whoa with mehrunes dagger is makes a whopping 330 dmg, a little less then the max dmg werewolf build, this on is more op tho, since you'll be pretty much invisible
Using this build with some tweaks (removing points in stealth dagger dmg, some lockpick perks; to put in destruction -augmented flames 2/2) for a Dunmer thief using some magic as close combat backup.
I did a dark elf morag tong assassin who's a thief who uses the ebony blade. He's charitable and tends to use persuasion instead of intimidation. He only kills someone who he has a contract on. His killing skills tend to be better than his thieving. He can do burglary, but isn't a good pickpocket

Torso clothing: Fortify alteration, and fortify illusion (because the clothing you'll be wearing won't actually be armor, just clothing, and you'll need alteration and illusion in case you run into trouble)
Headwear/Circlet: Fortify lockpicking (won't need this if you're that good at lockpicking) and fortify restoration (for some extra insurance)
Gloves: Fortify pickpocket and fortify sneak (why the hell is sneak fortification a enchantment for gloves in Skyrim?)
Boots: Fortify carry weight (if you want idc) and muffle.
Ring: Whatever you think will benefit your sneaky and thief like needs.
Amulet: Same as previous.

Oh wait I forget to mention fortify barter, that makes selling prices better.
I think imperials are great for thieves cause if you are caught you can use voice of the emporer because it calms enemies enough for you to fast travel or just run
not to mention they have a racial 10% chance to find extra gold in literally every thing they open, i still prefer Khajiit though, be an actual cat burglar with natural night vision goggles :D

The forgemaster build
As the name suggests the forgemaster has maxed out their smithing and craft their own armor and weapons
More than that though the forgemaster is more than a mere smith as he is also a master enchanter able to create weapons of great power and armor that can provide incredible benefits to the wearer
They are a master of speachcraft thus ensuring they receive only the best prices for their wears, after all skill is only half of being a smith, the other is convincing others to but your wares
The forgemaster can wield most any weapon though personally I go for the sword and shield, the forgemaster is a Nord though you can make them almost any race you like
The forgemaster will NOT use magic as while they see the merit in enchanting their faith is in things he has made with his own hands
Being a Dragonborn the forgemaster Ofcourse will be a master of the Thuum and eventually will Don a set of dragonbone armor as he is a master dragon hunter (can provide a story if you are interested fudge muppet)
I always take a couple of perks in restoration. Just because early on that channeled healing spell you start with is a life saver.

Joins the minuteman not because of goodness but because he can be leader.
Joins brotherhood only for the vertibirds.
Destroys the Prydwen so the minuteman will have their own chopper.
Uses unarmed and highly advanced weapons

Preferred companion is Preston since he is a subordinate.
Uses power armour.
Preferred gear is Heavy polymered combat armor with ballistic weave mark 5 clean military fatigues.
uses fully upgraded assault rifles, fully upgraded plasma weapons, fists.
Stealth perks melee perks all weapon damage increasing perks.
Favours base building. Especially at the Castle since it is the closest to a military base.
Introduces standardized uniform and armour for all minuteman.(Ballistic weave army fatigues and heavy combat armour)
Wants to make the minuteman the most powerful faction in the Wasteland.
Uses X01 mark 6 with jetpack

Love Thief builds. I've got a few tweaks i think would enhance the character.
Imperial. Imperials naturally find more gold wherever it can be found. They have the Voice of the Emperor ability. Which will be extremely useful if you are caught thieving and end up having an army of Bandits coming at you. You shout at them, calming them, then quickly disappear in to the shadows. Just don't get caught twice in one day!
Steed Stone. +100 carry weight. Mo pockets mo loot. Armor weighs nothing, meaning you move faster and it also reduces your chances of being detected.
(Thief stone until you have a few perks in Sneak)
Only use a dagger. Thieve's Guild usually frown on killing. A true thief would not see a group of Bandits as enemies that need to be put down, but instead they see homeless thieves and beggars. They don't need to die simply because they have something he wants... Unless he is getting paid to do it, of course. Sneak your way to your prize instead of killing everyone in sight.
Use the crossbow if want to use archery. They're loud so make sure you're well hidden when using it. But it's smaller than a bow and the bolts are more discreet. Easier to carry.
Something more discreet and silent would be good - *Requesting blow pipe mod!*
Alchemy. If someone needs to die, it's done by poison. And that is only if they absolutely must die. If someone stands in your way you drink an invisibility potion to slip by. If there is no other way around, use a Fear poison and a light stab to get rid of them.
Sell only to fences if you're with the guild. Every Septim you earn, every gem you take, every shirt you pluck from someone's back should be shared with your fellow thieves. You sell to the middle-man and they make a profit to go in to the guild's pocket.
Don't be OP and balance the game. You specialize in sneaking and bargaining. You aren't a mercenary so you won't have crazy defense or sword skills. If you get caught you're in trouble! Rely on your sneak attacks to deliver big damage with your dagger if needed.
Your armor is designed for carrying loot, not for tanking hits, so limit your Agile Defender perks. Rely on your poisons to fend off enemies while you run for the shadows.
Wear clothes around town and only wear your armor when on a mission or treasure hunting. Blend in to the crowd. You aren't a shady character in a hood, you're just a passing pilgrim looking for a bargain.
A mix between role playing and a pet hate for me. It always bugged me how someone can walk around a city in TG or DB armor without everyone freaking out.

The Assassin build is like the opposite of The Thief build, but sneak and one-handed is primary, while archery is secondary for the assassin, while the Thief build does not really use spells, and primarily uses the the bow and sneak. COOOOOLLLL!

I'm really enjoying this style of build video! The length and detail are absolutely perfect.
Personally I prefer to be an Imperial, you got balanced on most skills, and you get extra gold, upping the reason for a thief.
Also, you're daily power is great for escaping
I like that it is a argonian instead of a khajiit most thief builds use the stealthy cat race, nice to see someone else using a different race.

My thief is a traditional Bosmer born in Valenwood. Exactly like a Bosmer from the “Is it worth it” series... He’s on a personal thieves guild resurrection mission, and similar to this video as far as siding with the empire. After he’s gotten the thieves guild back on track of course. Plus he’s a little dead inside. With dreams of nightingale gear. Mainly because it looks so cool... Which will resurrect his vain soul.

Hey Fudgemuppet, for a future build, you should try using the alchemists shack as the player home. It would be good for a character that prefers to be secluded and uses a bit of alchemy. The location functions similar to a house as items placed in the containers here do not disappear. I think it would add a bit more to the roleplaying aspect if you talked about using it as a home.

My main Skyrim character is a nord thief but he’s an allrounder & a werewolf xD I use magic as a supplement like alchemy, alteration, illusion & fire spells w/the occasional conjuration useful for breaking out of prison & summoning weapons. Enchanting is useful for any build.
I love this format. I got really annoyed when they changed back to the old one.
I personally think the game is so much more fun when you play like this. I also think its more of a challenge.
Fallout 4 Synth Build Please, back story revolves around implanted memories of Shaun's father/mother which are altered to think he/she wasn't killed during the recovery of Shaun. The player will then find out he is a synth slowly over dialog with; Kellogg, Nick Valentine, and Shaun.
I just got anniversary edition and I'm revisiting this build with some of the awesome new creations to spice things up a bit

If u r making this type of their that he is suggesting then when u get nightingale armour then mix and match them bc some of the pieces r quite useful such as the boots which r muffles ur feet so u r harder to hear and the gloves that give u 15% lock picking and makes it where u do more dmg with one handed weapons, this will also make it where u can do backstabs with even more dmg.
This build is basically identical to how I play Skyrim anyway
With mods this game is so complete! I love this game. Played fall out 4 and it was fun for a short period but I went back to Skyrim.

You are a Conjuration / Destruction / Alteration mage also you will use bound sword when needed to
you want to level conjuration asap and same with alteration. you need Storm atronach and ebony flesh to stay alive
The back story (only for role play purposes)
You are a native of Marrow Wind a Dunmer (Dark Elf) and you were born in a harsh family on solsteim in order to get a living you wanted to study magics so you spent a lot of time getting spell tomes and learning you loved conjuration you were mostly lonely until you were strong enough to conjure a Familiar wolf he was your best friend always helping you. But as you grew to the adult stage you started expanding learning new things and you heard for the College of winter-hold so you set out knowing good routes you traveled to Cyrodiil first then to skyrim, On the way there you find Lokir the horse thief you get caught up with him and imperials get you both by surprise (once you escape helgen you want to do a part of the story and get your first shout then head to the College) you later find out you are dragonborn and when you do you know that you have the Spark of creation.
First time doing that sort of thing hope you guys liked it hehe

Rusted Blades So basically you are a wood elf living a privileged life in the Somerset isle. As soon as you are able to you join the army because of your skills with a bow and arrow. With the army, on a trip out to valenwood you and your friends get lost at night and have to survive for days. You love both the bosmer way of life and the wilderness. Your life becomes consumed by the hunt and the survival skills you had to utilize. Packing a small bag you announce that you are going to travel tamriel, you will really be surviving in the wild. Years go by and an old friend in the military comes to visit you in valenwood, this is unusual as you are a hard man to find. He is a member of the dark brotherhood and one of there scouts had their eye on you. You accept his invitation seeing it as a way to re introduce in society after many, many years. Life in the brotherhood is good, you treat your kills like a good hunt and the moral effects don't harm your wild soul. This is until one day you get married and prepare to leave the brotherhood. They do not take to this kindly and you wake up to see your same friend killing your wife. In a frenzy you kill him and as many brotherhood members you get your hands on. Picking out the ones who where good to you, you and your now allies travel the the wilderness. You can't count how many years go by but you know it has been a lot. You are but a hollow shell of what you used to be, still however, with a deadly bow and dagger. You see many things from deadra to bandits on your travels and kill anyone who comes in your path, however, unless they prove hostile you leave them a lone. One day you are caught on the border of heaven ect ect. When in skyrim you will re introduce into society, possibly going to the brotherhood due to its tighter niched family and feeling of regret that you likely had something to do with there demise. the players can join the thieves guild if they wish and the companions is a good choice due to the affinity for the hunt. He will complete the main question with it at the back of his head though. He will side with the imperials because he understands the power of the dominion and that the empire is the only hope.

Never thought I'd hear "Your race choice matters" when referring to Skyrim. TES6 better have unique play styles built in to races.
My thief build was a hoarder to an extreme. She stole all she could that had value & wanted to nab everything seen as rare or one of a kind. Ariel's Bow & Shield, Daedric artifacts, dragon priest masks & staves and of course gems galore. If its not nailed to the floor & is worth selling, it was hers. Roleplay wise it was simply that she just loved to steal but also wanted to amass a fortune so her family back in Blackmarsh would never have to have financial worries ever again
She had a mix of Blackwatch armor (hood & chestpiece) and Deathbrand armor (gloves & boots) to max out carry capacity. She also had a knapsack (role-play & actual carry capacity increase), got the dremora butler (extra 180 carry), has the Atherium Crown to hold the Steed Stone ability and of course bought every available home where she could use as safe houses to store all her loot
She was so much fun to play until my extended storage got corrupted...

Every playthrough of Skyrim I play starts with the focus on three skills the work for any build. Smithing, enchanting, and alchemy. With these three skills you can make gear that will make daedric artifacts look like toys. The potions you make are also legendary in their power and fetch a price that only a king could afford.
Yeah and as someone who's done that it's boring as all hell. want the enemies to actually stand a damn chance at killing me.

If you want to role play sure don't go for a companion, BUT having a companion and a spectral assassin when you join the dark brotherhood is awesome when you are in sticky situations. They both will tank so you can lurk off to the side and pepper enemies with arrows.
No mods? Please. Get immersive jewelry for thief loot and Perkus Maximus for useful illusion magic, traps and rope arrows.
I made a breton thief so I can use a bit of magic/illusion at the start to cause some mayhem and conjuration to distract others when I get spotted. Also for rp reasons. Any race is viable, it's nice to have a boost at the start but later it doesn't really matter anymore. that's the beauty of skyrim.

Theives also use alchemy! Gotta bump up weapon damage, calm someone after a failed pickpocket, or send a powerful enemy into frenzy while you hide in the shadows! Alchemy is also a means to invisibility, critical when in a tight spot, plus a high selling item.
would you consider making a shadowscale build ? Argonian assassin :D

I don't really care for character backstory but my main skills will be
Sneak, Speach, One handed, pickpocket, lock pick (taking no lockpick perks as they're useless) and also alchemy
Plan is to get enough money to buy a heart fire home, build a paralysis farm and use that as a way to get my way out of dangerous situations, progress through theif guild as well as dark brothrrhood not sure if I'll bother with civil war as of yet
Going to use ebony mail the dagger obtained by dawnstar quest... not sure about what else to do
As for your races you recommend i always use wood elf and i dislike characters with tails so I'll go imperial

For some reason my thieves have at least a little bit of Illusion, I usually go with the silent casting perk so I can cast Fury or Frenzy if I get caught or even pacify
You wanna grab Cicero's gloves too man! Nothing can be better than x30 damage for daggers. On any difficulty that is an insta kill for pretty much anything

+Matthew Almond A fully leveled thief fight goes like this, crouch to activate shadow walker at least I think that's what it's called then immediately attack to get that 30x damage boost=everything dies, literally everything, and of course have an ebony dagger and power attack maybe a few enchantments if you really want to be powerful. Oh and it's always fun to walk up to someone casually crouch attack and then suddenly you've teleported behind them for the assination.
Whoa with mehrunes dagger is makes a whopping 330 dmg, a little less then the max dmg werewolf build, this on is more op tho, since you'll be pretty much invisible

I did a dark elf morag tong assassin who's a thief who uses the ebony blade. He's charitable and tends to use persuasion instead of intimidation. He only kills someone who he has a contract on. His killing skills tend to be better than his thieving. He can do burglary, but isn't a good pickpocket
