I love the Fire Pro games. I remember when I first started playing them, and having a slight issue getting the move timing down. You just have to play on 1 difficulty, and youll get it. Now I play on 8. Fire Pro Wrestling World is the best wrestling game you can buy. Best wrestling game to play vs bots, or sim. Best wrestling game in terms of years you'll get out of it. The support with wrestlers, rings, and moves from the community is insane. Especially on PC. One PC the game runs on a toaster. More steep learning curve than the WWE games, but WELL worth it. Your review was spot on.

I “played” Fire Pro Returns for 10 years, constantly. The WWE games really offer a totally different experience. The fundamentals of Fire Pro are so good for what they do, it makes it so easy to come back to them. Glad to hear you’re a big fan!

I owned and played the original Super Famicom Fire Pro, for many years. I skipped the others and then went on to Fire Pro X Premium, translated to English via emulation. These are amongst my most played games, 20 years on I am still playing. As you say, the challenge is getting your head around the timing system. I would loan Fire Pro, to friends, most hated it. They wanted to bash buttons fast, like WWF games. Well Fire Pro, was all about skill and the Japanese instructions made this clear, if you could read Japanese. But many did figure it out (like me) and that is why this series has such a following.

While I was never into the gameplay of the fire pro series, I will always adore it for the creation and booking modes(Fire pro world on PC specifically). It's crazy how a seemingly limited game still has features and replay value that most newer games lack.

Opening up the AI to the user is pretty big because you can really tailor the experience to your play style. The default roster usually has pretty bad logic, but there are some incredible Edit makers out there who have mastered the Logic system and can make some really compelling Edits.

I wasn't introduced to Fire Pro till Returns on PS2, the series has however become probably my favorite. I enjoy both playing and watching Fire Pro, I find the timing mechanic quite fun and interesting actually... Still wish World got ported to Switch as it'd be perfect for it but that never happened. lol

Great video! I am also a fan of simulating matches. I Only have fire pro returns, but it's great for fmw style deathmatchs which is my obsession atm.

I love Fire Pro Wrestling so much, I've played almost every game in the franchise.
The first 3 SNES Fire Pro Games were really great, and the series got much better later on!
I'd love to see you review every Fire Pro game!
    Good luck

How do you execute a move in those games. I can't get the timing right.

Wait until the knees dip, then immediately press the button you want to press

@battinghat Sorry for the late reply, I watched it on my break but didn't yet get to the bit where its explained in the video. Thanks for replying, it's hard but rewarding once you get the hang of it though.

We loved Fire pro on the SNES. I remember the guy with the wrench 🤣.
Pro wrestling on the Sega Master system was great too

Such a cool video .... Love Fire Pro. This game is so addictive. I’ve started playing the Dreamcast version it on my phone (posted a few vids). Amazing you can play such a classic game on the go now.

The 33 Million for a single Fire Pro Wrestling doesn't really make sense. However, if it is the sales figures of ALL Fire Pro games, then it makes more sense. For context, all the major Super Mario games sales figures are about 430 Million. And the sales figures for all Super Robot Taisen games sit at about 19 Million.

Do you guys think that this game engine is the same or designed the game engine for the N64 revenge no mercy series?

The first 3 are damn near impossible I beat the first one with misawa the only move I could use was his running elbow to win it wasn't until the easy type where it was actually playable fire pro wrestling is the best wrestling series but those first three on snes are way to hard

Super Fire Pro Wrestling is definitely unfair even at its lowest difficulty. It's hard to get good when any success seems to be pure luck. I never win a lock up 99% of the time. No matter how hard or how much I mash the buttons. Constantly getting surfboarded and abdominal stretched by Jushin Liger isn't my idea of fun.
