I'm surprised that Scotty has yet to mention that Toyota said EVs will never be more than 30% of the market with hybrids, fuel cell and etc comprising the rest
Scottie…YOU FORGOT….BESIDES common sense …you need a WORK ETHIC!!!
That's not a mustang!!!
i ask whos gona fix the ones that were bought? no ones keeping the mechanics on hand
Calling it a Mustang was their first mistake.
The customer has spoke. Now to convince them the gas powered ones aren’t worth $80,000
They are charging more for gas vehicles to pay for the 36 thousand dollars they are losing on each ev sold. Plus we are paying for the government tax breaks.
You can get a brand new Toyota Camry for $28,000
They're passing the cost of electic cars onto the gas cars. Ford, Toyota, all of them are doing this. If Ford didnt charge 60k for a base f150 then the electric lightning would be over $100k.
Its an attempt to force consumers to stop buying gas
The point I'm making is you don't have to spend $80k on a new car. You can spend $28 on something that you can drive for another 15 to 20 years.
@@Skelterbane69where?! Show me! You must mean an unfinished jigsaw puzzle project for below $2800
I think in reality "The EV Fantasy killed off the Ford Motor Company".
And I was holding out for an Edsel EV...😆
No, EV didn't "kill off" Ford Motor Company. Like Disney, Coke, Target and Bud Light, Ford made a catastrophic mistake in going woke.
Are they going to feel the effects of this terrible decision for AT LEAST a decade? Without a doubt!
Will they learn from their terrible mistake? That remains to be seen.
We were a Ford family for generations... until Ford started down this road of bsd decision after bad decision. Now, Ford is going to have to EARN our business and loyalty back.
Until then? No Fords for us.
@@harveyhankerson8359that and the newer Fords are just garbage compared to the old ones. Even outside of EVs, Ford has the most recalls in recent years. They even manufacture their vehicles in Mexico now too
@@harveyhankerson8359 yeah car prices have gotten ridiculous over the years (especially trucks now). Your 06 F150 is a workhorse though and should last for even more hundreds of miles with maintenance (especially if you have the diesel version)
More like EVs put the final nail in the coffin. The Ford Motor Company died when they stopped selling cars!
Because all of these cars are way too freaking expensive! People are fixing and keeping the cars they have.
You can only do that for so long..
@@rogerthat.9105 Tell my neighbor with the duece coupe.
@@rogerthat.9105😂😂😂😂
@@rogerthat.9105I passed a car on the highway today that was from the 50s or 60s. Properly maintained cars can last a very long time. Even when they do finally go it’ll still be cheaper to buy another used gas car
Your so right.. why are all these electric cars so expensive? No wonder why no one is buying them and hanging on to their old cars.
The Mach E was supposed to be cheaper because made in Mexico but they are still losing tons of money on them!
Ford don't know what tyhey are dfoing with EVs. They need to team up with chinese companies so they can learn from them.
Made in Mexico was supposed to be cheaper for the consumers. thanks NAFTA
Labor cost is a small portion of the production cost. The components are not made in Mexico, meaning the component cost is the same wherever they assemble the car. The most expensive component for an EV is batteries and software.
Expensive flashlights!
I was driving behind a Mach-Me the other day. It was one of the saddest experiences I've ever had on the road. It was just screaming "I am, TOO a mustang....yes, I am....stop making fun of me!"
When my trusted and beloved 99 Mustang was in the shop - for a fuel pump at 228,000 miles - I took an UBER - driver had a Mach E Mustang - what I call the Mach-Ugly. What a boring vehicle - might be fast - but interior so bland - definitely NOT a Mustang - of any sort. Just a boring SUV.
It may be somewhat Edge-E, but calling it a Mustang is an abomination. Somebody was out of Focus.
HAHA Ford FOCUS right? (F**k Off Cuz Ure Stupid)@@pyrotech7210
The HIDDEN reason auto insurance companies want you to put the recording device into the OBD port is to record any potential bad driving data in case you file a claim. Then they have proof to deny your claim! ROFL
And they don't care if it kills your car either.
Cars have been doing that for 20 years you just didn't know it
That and also raise your insurance premiums later on. Been there l, done that.
solution, Carborator.
An ev, is the best way to destroy the American auto industy...its happening right now!!!!
Ford like nearly every manufacture is ditching the EV because it is unstainable due to ultra-high cost, lack of all-season range and safety because of the volatility of Lithium-Ion batteries.
I understand Toyota has helped develop a salt-based battery So while lead is bad, it’s common enough and inexpensive so lower energy density is good for reliable recharging. Apparently the salt battery is a higher energy density than lead but doesn’t create the high-health risk mining of the lithium and cobalt metals. Suck it CCP, you keep stealing lots of tech but aren’t worth much on ingenuity.
Too bad US and USSR failed to join forces then defeat their common enemy of CCP before 1970. Nixon would have been better off, and GHWBush would likely not have been able to become so friendly. I have yet to hear of Chinese expats longing for CCP once out of that country, regardless of CCP adopting much capitalism in economy.
EVs are a religion at this point. Despite all the evidence saying they are not practical, people are still pushing them and defending them. You can make a very efficient, NA 4-cylinder engine. What more do you want?
They are now using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries that don't catch fire, give good range and cost less.
@@steveinoz8188 but are still not very widespread as of this date. I too wish to wish to see these as well as Iron-Phosphate batteries come to the fore.
Tesla is selling there model 3 at a 26% profit margin... It can be profitable but Ford unfortunately is not doing it correctly. Tesla model 3 short range finally uses the lithium iron phosphate cells which are fireproof and don't have thermal runaway issues
Ford did the opposite of what they were supposed to do. They built the largest EV instead of a small one. They should have built a Maverick EV instead of the F150.
Ford di the opposite of what they were supposed to do. Ford made an BEV period. Only the incentives made people buy BEV and those dumping them on the used market even with 50% depreciation in 2 years just to be rid of them.. Money saved equals ZERO! Or Negative.
It's kind of like rent control and building restrictions where developers are given few choices for building or pricing, so they're forced to only build luxury apartments.
If a business is forced to be limited in what they can sell, then they might as well try to sell the most expensive thing they can build because customers won't have a choice anyway.
So it's pretty logical that they'll build gigantic luxury EVs instead of small affordable ones.
The Chevy Bolt, and Nissan Leaf were created when the market was allowed to have a choice.
Now The Bolt and The Leaf are both being sunsetted within two years and the plan is to replace them with expensive luxury EVs.
Or be better and don't make any
@@dougsmart3678😂😂😂
Nobody needs an EV, it’s a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.
Scotty, you speak the truth, even though I’m one of those mechanics that you rag on all the time because I work at a franchise transmission shop. But I digress I put one of those devices in my car for my insurance, I didn’t put it together right away but my battery would go dead over three or four days Did a parasitic draw test on it and yeah, you guessed it. It was that device killing my battery.

Ford in my area willing to give me 12k discounts on all of their electric vehicles
Tel them if they GIVE you 13K you'll consider it.
Yeah but its still only 12K off a 88K Ford Lightning lol
Now that they're done marking them up 12k
The reason Ford's quality dropped is that they put so much more time and resources into EVs that it caused them to neglect their bread-and-butter vehicles which are ICE-powered. Toyota even told Ford and other carmakers that their quality would suffer because the public wasn't ready for EVs and they were right and that's why Toyota didn't jump on the EV bandwagon.
4:45
Not to mention that your insurance premiums will skyrocket if your not careful with one of those devices.
I saw the picture of the TEsla with a portable generator in a basket on the tow hitch on its back ....Its generating and charging as your running down the road ...THat is your Long distance driving
That would also heat the batteries badly, driving while charging, TOASTY.
Crazy fees are not only in California, it's all over the country !!!
The older Ford vehicles are more reliable. I hear good things about the older Crown Victoria, Mustang, F-150, and Ranger.
2017 5.0 was the last year of good F150s
Crown vics were solid cars, that's why they were police units.
Ford's rwd panther platform cars (Crw Vic, GM, TC) were probably their best products in the past 40 yrs. But of course they discontinued them, and tried in vain to get all of us into expensive SUV's, huge 4dr PU's, and bloated electric everything minivans. They don't understand that a lot of us ONLY want sensible, good looking, durable 'old school' style sedans and coupes - BUT w/o all the extra cost unwanted electric option crap. It's hard to find a solid rwd car w non-turbo 6 or a small V-8, no stinking sun roof, and & w/o every option that I never wanted to distract me while driving. I can disable DRL's and some options, but shouldn't have to pay for what I don't want.

Mach-E Mustang … Ford’s modern Edsel moment.
Edsels were not bad cars. I knew a guy who had one still running 35 years later. They had air conditioning and other things people didn't want to pay for that are standard on practically all cars now.
Unlike Edsel's, Mach E's will NEVER be considered REAL Mustang's and never be classics. These Franken-Mustang's are another failed, dumb idea. What few are still around yrs from now won't be worth the cost to keep running. Only douche Elon's POS fugly cyber thing is worse. 😂

Would you by any chance live in Kentucky? I remember hearing that Ford picked a place in Kentucky to build a battery plant. There was another state too but I forgot which one.
Cool story bro 👊 🙄🙄🙄
Run!!!
Thank God! Only Potato Head wants Electric cars.
A toyota he mentioned had 140k and they didnt have any issues.....thats not impressive....my hondas, mazdas and older fords have all had over 300k and ran fine ..my 5 spd civic SI has little over 300k and runs exellent
I love Honda. Owned several Accords.. Fit and finish superior to Toyota. I’ll take my 4Runner over any Honda, however…
I’m thinking of buying a Mazda CX~30
Happy to hear your Mazda is good vehicle
@richsweeney115
You mentioned Honda, Mazda and an older Ford racking up some high mileage and running fine. What you didn't mention is a newer Ford... hmmmm 🤔
Toyota's are not perfect but they happen to be one of the most perfect overall 😉
You didn't see how Toyota cars run in Asia region, especially Toyota Hilux. 300k mileage is a piece of cake for Toyota drivers in Asia. Honda makes good cars but we all know Toyota makes better. Roads in Asia region are no joke.
Moch-E is still going above 50K in my area. I'd only CONSIDER one if it's 35k or lowers.
Ooops. I've had a COBB access port plugged into my WRX OBD port for 5 years now.
