Scotty if you know where the bleeder valve on the fuel rail for a 2009 5.7 L Hemi Dodge Ram is would you please reply I ran it out of fuel and cannot find the bleeder valve

Scotty, do you ever take out your soark plugs after 30,000 miles or so just to clean them with a wire brush?? I do it, jist to clean off the deposits, almost like putting new plugs in

Scotty, when you were using your scan tool you made two mistakes. Number one you pressed cruise control, not electric drive and number two, you selected Mustang but further up the screen it had a selection for a Mach e. What would happen if you selected Mach e? Who knows. Other than that, great video as usual.

There was an option for the mach e but he missed it and went to Mustang
FYI: If your VIN starts with a "3", it's made in Mexico. "1", "4", "5" is United States. "J" is Japan. "2" is Canada.
Character 11 tells you WHERE the plant is that made it.
My 2002 Focus was made in Hermosillo MX and runs/drives like new @ 203K miles.

I noticed when you used your most expensive data device that Mustang Mach E was listed a few entries higher than where you went in at Mustang where only ICE’s were listed….
There probably isn’t much there but more than nothing. I’m curious to know how much is in at the Mustang Mach E entry point

Well it auto read the VIN number but said it didn't have the software to go any further. It gave a warning. And if it's anything like my all data information system on the vehicle, it. It would have very little useful information at all. When I clicked on electrical for the car on all data, all I got was one technical service bulletin. No information on how to test the electric motor or the battery. It was pretty much useless information

If you look at its actually not.. great performance, looks, luxury and for now its saving gas money.. until electrical costs go way up.. they start out at under $44,000… really most people would only need to charge it once a week.. i think ev’s are a huge mistake for the planet but this ford mach e is really cool.. for $44k, if i had a little more money and a garage i would really consider getting one

So we save money over time, get it all back.

The owner sent this car to work on but you couldn't do anything with it. Like you said another downside to owning an ev is sending it straight to the dealership for an unknown amount of cash to be spent.
That makes it a Very bad selling point for me 🧐

Run the other way. Ford dealerships were already dangerous and once sent me out on the road with a bad brake job. I survived that and a fuel leak from cheap plastic fuel filler tube before getting to Toyotas. I don't like the idea of being electrocuted at a Ford dealership or down the road.

not to mention that car needed a half dozen updates before it ever got to the customer
There is only 5 second of max boost regardless of SOC. Over 72 MPH you already will see the power reduced bars, under 70% SOC you will also see the power reduced bars..under 50% SOC it cuts power significantly- One of the main reason I sold mine … Ford was really sneaky not sharing this was a grocery getter and not a real GT car
It's a SUV, you cannot expect a "GT car"

I think the main reason Scotty is not a fan of Electric vehicles is the fact that they don’t have a “ Stupid engine beauty cover “ that he can toss to the ground. 😂🤣

75k for that is just crazy. I don't blame the dealerships I blame the buyers. When the banks lend 120% of a vehicle we can all see the car apocalypse is happening.
It won't be long as idiots pay over sticker but I still kinda wonder who buys $80,000.00 (start there to $100,000.00...) Expeditions, Escalades, etc. Good for them I guess; geesh. I think the second stimulus is a large part of the current inflation.

I paid 62k OTD for my Premium eAWD ER. So far I love it. I have a 2019 GT vert. If my vert was a hardtop, I would be trading it in. That is how much I like the Mach-e.

A person pays $75,000 for a car... I can't even wrap my head around that... but, $75K for a car, then you have to pay an additional $2,500 for a warranty... literally, the world has lost its collective mind.

Been to a dealership lately? Check the MSRP on a top trim truck these days. The sticker shock will make this $75k vehicle seem like a bargain by comparison. I guarantee you, you are not going to get a loaded NEW Expedition, Escalade, Navigator, King Ranch, etc. for $75k.

You can get a very nice loaded 10-year old truck for fraction of that price.
I wanted a truck myself and bought a beater Tacoma for only $3k cash. $120 tax+title and $18/mo insurance. I paid less than people pay in taxes alone for these overpriced trucks. Best part is I don't care about dings/scratches and actually use my truck like a truck.
I cant wait until they get rid of the dealership model and take up Tesla’s model of going straight to the consumer

I test drove a mach e select and model y long range and reserved the y because of the faster acceleration, range, and response time of the touch screen.
The interior of the mach e was much nicer, more familiar.
At the time, april 2021, the mach e was 46k and model y 59k.
end of story: i got neither.
I don't like Teslas and I lost interest in the Mach E. If I'm getting an SUV, I want V8. Case in point: Durango SRT

@@danielcarrillo1057 An old Tahoe would be good good. I want an EV, but when these cars are not made or supported anymore, I will have no way to get my battery replaced, so I am content with sticking with gas. That's why I got my 2013 GT Mustang. :D

Two things...First you can change the "feel" of the wheel and pedals to make it feel more tight and sporty or loose and relaxed for the handling. Second I definitely recommend the extended warranty as well and even got mine for free :-). And a P.S. if you do have issues I have had much better luck calling Ford themselves than dealing with the dealers. The dealers don't even know what's wrong or how to use anything in the car from what I have seen at the 4 dealers I have been too but when I called Ford themselves they worked everything out for me.
Good luck with the longevity. I dont know where you live but in Wisconsin nobody runs tesla in the winter or seems to take a risk when the battery is freezing
@@1WiggerMan I live in Virginia so it does not get that cold other than maybe 2 or 3 weeks. But yes you are right. I don't plan on having it past the warranty period.
Uh - Scotty lied - I have a screen copy of his third OBS2 reader that shows MachE - he skipped to mustang- Mach e was under ford - I know I’m late to this party but I can give you a screen copy .

@@robertromero8692 There are so many errors in this video that it's still easy to say, "see? Scotty is so biased against EVs that he won't even review them fairly!" Seriously: he complains that the car's price was $75k when they say it starts at $40-something, but he fails to mention that the $75k behind him is literally the top trim that you can buy of the Mach-E. That's like complaining that airlines advertise tickets starting at $400, but you paid $10,000 for a first class seat.

Looks like you missed the part in the video where Scotty says it starts at $40k something.
I don't know about that. He always mentions how much of a thrill they are to drive. You have to remember that because EV's have relatively little routine maintenance requirements and rarely need parts most old world automotive technicians see them as a threat to their livelihoods. Mass adoption of electric vehicles presents a real threat to their industry.

I like this guy's energy. I just heard of this car today and was curious about it, glad I clicked on this video.
The top speed is limited almost certainly to protect the batteries. The safe discharge C-Rate is likely right at it's limit at 125 mph. Even at 125 mph if driven for extended periods the core temperature will climb to point where the cooling system struggles to maintain a safe temperature.
Yes , there are a myriad of downsides to massive Lithium batteries powering a car. I watched non-political EXPERTS/Scientists on the matter and there are so many down-sides. AVOID AVOID.

My grandmother got one recently, premium extended range model in red. Its pretty nice. I do wish it was just called the Mach E.
Mach 1 is 762 mph. It should be called the Mach 0 (Naught).

The Mach E does look a lot better than the Model Y. The Teslas are all starting to look like jellybeans to me. At least Ford and GM are starting to bring some decent looking EVs to the table, well at least trucks and crossovers.
and there are already plans to bring a fully electric maverick and bronco, ford really is making big moves, they're gonna leave tesla in the dust soon enough

But the Teslas are Way more efficient. Mustang is too thirsty.
@@stighaaland5357 Pros and cons either way. Ford has a large dealer network which makes parts and services more easily available vs having a Tesla towed somewhere out of town and waiting for weeks just to get the HVAC checked out or power window switch replaced.
I like Ford and wish them the best of success with all their vehicle lines - but if this car is 4500 lbs, it's only about 300 lbs less than my 2019 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 pickup. That is a huge problem with electrics - is it really 'efficient' to have to lug around that much weight in batteries?
But it's still like 5 time more efficient than any ICE vehicle it's weight.

There's a lot of houses without garages , and there is a lot of roofs *NOT* covered with solar panels.

all of them? look at Björns channel, he usually has an old phone data logging battery stuff when benchmarking EVs, you need a not so standard obd2 app, thats all

The Nissan Leaf does and probably the new Ariya as well. Actually, many EV's have already been hacked and can be comprehensively scanned via the OBDII connector. There are way too many people and companies willing to do this. It may take a few months until the decipher any manufacturers attempt to protect access but all will eventually be hacked.
How often do you take a phone, TV, computer or microwave oven in for service? The stuff on an EV most likely to wear out are tires, brakes, wipers, door locks, seat mechanisms. 75% of the moving parts of an ICE are eliminated. Old school mechanics will be repairing older and older poorer condition machines. The simple to do stuff doesn't need ASE certification. The complex stuff will need better diagnostic equipment than a Honda HDS, but will reduce the number to diagnosticians, because there will be fewer modules that are more easily accessible, and they will be exchanged, not fixed in the field. THAT'S why Scotty is smart to retire now.

@Steve Jones Sure, the 86 is a Subaru engine and the Supra is a BMW engine/platform, but neither car exist as they do without Toyota. I’ve never heard an 86 owner describe it as boring. When Toyota sets out to make a fun car, they succeed. I’ll take a “boring” Toyota with rwd and a stick over an electric SUV all day long.
You can disable the feature that makes it slow more when you take the foot off the gas. That's called "one pedal driving" and you can disable it from the menu. I drove one of the Premium AWD non-GT models and I really liked it but... no way I'd ever buy one lol. Very nice car though. Very comfortable and nicer than a Tesla imo.

The relationship of drag to airspeed is simple. It’s essentially the same as the “Square-Cube Law.”
Which states that if you double the speed, the drag will increase by a factor of four.

Once aitflow becomes “turbulent” meaning the air starts to tunble around itaelf, the drag goes way up., it happens around 60
mph in the average car.. thats why they say to get beat mileage drive under 60.. i learned this in college physics class.. the more aerodyamic a shape, the fastwr it can go without turbulent airflow

One interesting tidbit Consumer Reports magazine just came out that electric cars are actually worse for the environment in total than ice cars.
The initial environmental cost of an EV is higher than a comparable gas car, but it breaks even at around an average of 13,500 miles, after which the EV pulls ahead.
They are worse for the environment in total including the mining of the heavy metals.

I first saw power folding mirrors in Japan in the year 2000. I had a set installed in my 94 Civic sedan by the next summer. I found on ebay the switch, relay, and mirrors, with harness plugs that had enough wire to soldier to, building the wiring harness, and installing them, including swapping the lh side mirror base with the one my car came with, took about 12 hours total, and was approached from a pure enjoyment perspective. I had already sourced a 4 door SiR cluster, with white gauges that with orange needles, that were backlit, looking dark with white numbers at night, that was calibrated to 190 km/h, just above the fuel cut-off, which used most of the dial compared to the one calibrated to 240 km/h. Loved how the Eg Civic's speedo used a clip on circuit board to power that electronic00/*//// speedo

Getting an electric car was the best decision, I ever made.. and I bought the one with the lowest mileage.. mini cooper. Had it two years and didn’t need any maintenance.. no oil changes.. I never had to go to a charge station. Because I charge it at home.

The mirrors fold when the button is pushed regardless of speed. Every Ford I've ever driven is this way. Same with Nissan. While inconvenient for mirror usage, it has no effect on lane departure or blind spot monitoring systems. Lane departure is handled by a camera at the top of the windshield and blind spot is handled by radar sensors in the rear quarters of the vehicle, in this case, most likely behind the sides of the rear bumper cover.
It weighs as much as my 79 Lincoln MK V. And, yes, it is a lot more efficient than my 4,600 pound car. But, mine is more beautiful and more comfortable. And I also think that replacing my entire fuel system for less than $300 is a lot cheaper than paying $24,000 to replace the battery on that there Mach E.

The Mirror retraction while moving is an excellent Idea in rural driving so I hope they don't listen to you. I got very accustomed to that in England where you drive right up-against hedge rows a lot, but it happens in the US on country lanes.

I generally like Ford a lot better than GM and especially Dodge/Chrysler but no way I would pay $75,000 for that. No way.
I'll post this for the 1,003rd time but the best electrics run on third rail or overhead wire. These EVs in the long run cause more problems than they solve.

I really don’t see why someone would buy this over the Hyundai ionic 5. Even the low end of the ionic range a) has much better range, b) looks cooler, c)has charging abilities that allow charging in half the time, d) comes standard with the 2500$ warranty you mentioned, and d) costs HALF (!!!) as much. Maybe do a review of the ionic 5?
Toyota Venza lets you retract the mirrors while you're driving. I like that feature for in case you have a narrow passageway.

Zero emissions they say but they didn't tell you how much pollution making those machines. You'll need to drive those EVs a hundred thousand miles before it will equal the amount of pollution produced by internal combustion engine. That is if it even reaches a hundred thousand, then you got to replace the batteries for more pollution.

The camera for the lane departure system is generally attached to the windshield, in the same region as the rear-view mirror. With this car, you can see it from the outside as that trapezoidal region at the top-middle of the windshield. The side mirrors should have nothing to do with lane departure... unless I'm missing something. Even blind-spot detection is usually done via sensors mounted in the rear quarters of the vehicle. The mirrors just have the indicators.
My big concern is built-in obsolescence using software. I can see the future of these requiring a subscription just to have your car run.

I will relate this to my battery operated tools. One of my batteries carry about 15-18650 cells. It used to hold 4 bars of pwr, now it holds only 3 bars. I'm guessing one of the cells is out, so with constant charging of this EV...well... you know.
I do know. Your drill battery's life is less than 1000 discharge cycles, the car cells are multiples of 10,000. People don't normally wait until they run out of gas to refill an ICE, will act similarly if not more conservatively with EVs. Your electric drill doesn't use the same chemistry in its batteries, doesn't have software controlled power drain and doesn't have nearly the quality of under and overcharging protection that these cars do.
Very smart people already thought, considered and solved those problems

The only reason Ford put the Mustang name on this car is to sell it. To the best of my recollection, there was never a 4 door Mustang. You can call it a Mustang all you want, but it's no Mustang in my book. This is purely a marketing ploy to get their EV sales numbers up. And let's be clear, the big 3 are not making and selling EV's to compete with Tesla, it's to get their fleet milage numbers up to meet the EPA's fleet mileage requirements. IMHO.
All they need to do is just make a good car and they wouldn’t need to market the car as a “Mustang”

The biggest problem with EVs isn't the charging network, the price, the environmental cost of the battery, or any of that. It's that there is basically no Right to Repair on EVs. This is really why all the manufacturers are going to EVs. They see $$$$$ because only they can repair them.

My parents owns a 75 kwh mach e. They love it. The range also good enough. Only they don’t like the suspension. It’s very hard if you sit in the back seat. When they have passengers they are complaining

I rented a Porsche Boxster 6mt for a vacation in Miami. The drilled brake disk were noisy but not bad but the brake dust were just horrendous. I can't imagine if that Mach E had them.

@@metalmike570 You heard wrong! Go over to TH-cam's Rich Rebuilds and see videos about the "data logging" and fluid loss issues of the Tesla Mosel S center screens. At about model year 2016 Tesla solved most of their drivetrain and inverter issues. The drivetrain, batteries, inverters, BMS, and chargers are really first rate. It's STILL the REST of the car that has crappy Chrysler-grade issues of things breaking early.

My 2014 Ford Fusion does that crazy thing with the mirror. My mirror does not auto fold but, the angle self adjusts and, i have to push the seat memory button to reset it. Most of the times it works. When it doesn't i have to manually adjust the mirror and reset it. When i first got the car it caught me off guard several times when i had to merge into traffic.

70 mph isn’t all that fast (on the highway). If I need to accelerate to pass or for safety, the last thing I want is electronically limited acceleration after 70 mph. Sometimes it is necessary to get out of the way and quickly.

Gas is cheap compared to the price of electric cars. Don't forget to get the option of pedals. So when the electrical grid is overladed. You can still drive it.
