    How well can these clear small brush, saplings? No rocks where I live, and what blade choice do you recommend ?

      If it's under 3/4" thickness the Flail Mower can do a very good job clearing saplings and shrubs. We have a few shorts we've posted showing it with those kinds of materials.
      For blades, you'd just use the standard/included Y-Blades for clearing shrubs and saplings.

    Is the container on the back for ballast to even out the load or another reason? Or did I miss it.

    • @MetsaMachines

      It’s for ballast, we usually recommend around 100 lbs to offset the weight of the Rammy mowing attachments.

      What about on a 1k xmr. Or do you thinking it's fine for flat over grown areas. Like a yard

    • @MetsaMachines

      @@ThePaperBoy187 The ballast weight is just for transport. If you're going over flat ground, it isn't as important because you don't need to worry as much about the front of your ATV/UTV being pulled down.

    Can you adjust height with a winch?

    • @MetsaMachines

      The winch is meant to raise and lower the unit for transportation. While it is possible to raise it higher with the winch, doing so on uneven terrain where the unit may bounce a lot can increase the risk of the strap/cable breaking. It's important to go slow when the unit is suspended.

    Does this use the hammer flail or the Y flail

    • @MetsaMachines

      The Y-Blades which come with the mower were used here.

    Is Rammy the only front mount for atvs ?

    • @MetsaMachines

      We aren't very familiar with any other brands that offer front mount mowing options. There are some, but we wouldn't be in a position to comment on them or their quality. Plus, we are a bit biased on which ones we like.

      What's the highest height that you can set the mower at? I'm curious if it can be set at 12 inches so as to help let the natives that don't like to be cut short down to 4-5 inches like non-native pasture grasses.@MetsaMachines

    • @MetsaMachines

      @Nightowl5454 the Flail Mower can be raised to about 4 inches high with the roller. You could raise it higher with the winch but clearance with your machine, your suspension, strap strength, etc all become factors that make it hard to recommend doing that for prolonged mowing.

    • @Nightowl5454

      @@MetsaMachines is there any manufacturer that makes a flail mower that would mow 12 inches high?

    • @MetsaMachines

      @@Nightowl5454 You would most likely need to use a tractor PTO mower at that height. We have a Kubota tractor that we use for moving longs and ground maintenance, and that unit is able to mow fairly high off the ground. The obvious downside is you'd need a tractor, along with the mower, if you don't have one already.

    I would think a slow steady speed would be better. ?

    • @MetsaMachines

      You get a better first pass but if you want a cleaner cut and plan on going back over it a second time, then the extra speed on the first pass doesn’t hurt as much.

    Hell, It won't much more than cut yard grass lol. Sad excuse for a mower. That should fly through those light weeds
