If that's rushing, I'd hate to know how long taking their time would be. 😁
The linked video was done for a movie, but it illustrates what Minimum Interval Take Off (MITO) meant during the Cold War. These B-52s took off from the same runway 15 seconds apart. They immediately peal off in different directions to evade incoming Russian nukes. The black exhaust is unburned fuel from the water injection use to get extra thrust for takeoff. th-cam.com/video/Cq6Hpxyrhyo/w-d-xo.html
I grew up as the son of a KC-135 pilot and heard my dad talk of Minimum interval take off. He said after the 3rd take off the remaining planes took off on instruments for lack of visibility.
They steer in different direction to avoid air turbulence from one's in front.
❤❤❤❤❤
I Love F16❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a friend
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
F22 better
I like how it shows south carolina f-16s, then alaska f-16s, then f-22s escorting the russian bombers, then south carolina f-16s landing
The video was disjointed. The South Carolina jets in the hangar had no wing-tip mounted missiles and the jets taking off were so equipped.
And the map on the screen was actually Iceland. Unfortunately there are no forests in Iceland, but there were next to the runway🤔
Russian Bears used to enter Alaskan airspace nightly. It was them seeing if we would get lazy after a while or still come up to escort them through. It worked.
And before you click into the video, it shows the South Dakota F-16’s
SC F16s in the hanger on startup, AK F16s taking off. this is just a hodge podge of footage.
For it to be an emergency, they sure are moving slow!
Intercepting Russian jets form the south of the US with no missiles on the plane , might eb a clue the title is clickbait.
Propaganda films for the united states
Yea, taking off from South Carolina and escorting TU-95s near Iceland (see how the background changes.) Also some of the aircraft tail numbers changed - so essentially a spliced together clips. But, does show what goes into launching an aircraft. A real scramble would be much shorter and a lot of these steps would have been done ahead of tim.@@IrLosin
Trust me, this was quick. I've been on the flight line for an SR-71 launch and it took 37 mins from pilot entry to brake release on the runway. About 15 minutes at Last Chance. The aircraft was clean and ready to go at pilot entry, no flags to pull. The best bit is when they pressurize the fuel tanks and the Blackbird starts pouring fuel and splashes down the taxiway.
First thing I noticed was the F-16s taking off, weren’t the ones that taxied out. I guess you use the footage you can get.😄
Having years of experience on the F-16, I can definitely appreciate the MITO takeoffs! We would do what we called a “surge”. 4 sorties with a “hot-pit” between them. Refuel & reload with engine running and pilot in the seat. Amazing aircraft!
First thing I noticed was the F-16s taking off, weren’t the ones that taxied out. you are so right. Those F16 were from Columbus guard unit, I did a weight and balance class there.
Yep and I was thinking how is that F-16 from South Carolina going to intercept anything without missiles? Lol

Very beautiful and Powerful Jet Fighter F16
Wow ..the pilots view was super !
God Bless America🙏🏾
Dang! Kicked butt and back home quick LOL
Every video you might view, doesn’t equate to reality. Alert and scramble aircraft have times that aren’t available to the public. Know that these alert crews will be airborne before you know that a threat has been identified. Anyone critiquing the video doesn’t really have a clue.
That’s slower then a school fire drill
WOW WHAT AN AWESOME AIRCRAFT! John P.
At that rate they wouldn't be able to intercept a message.
that and he had no weapons ?? lmao
No,because if you think a Russian won’t just go to US and back they would hang around to annoy the US . Well that’s how it happens in the UK
Got to love this amazing country 👏🏻
2:48 and 3:28. Must have stopped during taxi and had the tail painted. South Carolina became AK. And then back again at 8:01. Impressively quick.
😂😂😂😂
yeah and i immediately noticed he had no weapons!
When you’re piloting an F-16, it does the rushing for you 😂
Especially with such a long flight to British air space!
It's such a capable looking aircraft, on the ground, in the air, all the time.
I am no expert but that took an awfully long time to get their s**t together and airborne
Not a taxi - theres a SOP to start and operate a plane
Probably takes you longer to get out of bed
Those guys are up and away while you still are thinking about it.
Probably 5 minutes in total since receiving the call! ThTs fast
Well you’re exactly right about one thing: you’re no expert
Is that Swamp Fox pilots? Your the best!
Imagine getting up there and realizing they forgot to put any armaments on 😂
😂
Fascinating. Thumb up!
Love our guys keeping red white and blue safe🇺🇸
For a basic military technology, sure been around for a long time.
I LOVE YOU, GOD!❤❤
Very excellent hope you are enjoying your weekend
I’ve been to funerals that were quicker than this
Wonderful landing
They sure took their sweet time getting into the air to intercept anything.
Right I’ve seen fire trucks move faster awhell
can’t exactly launch a jet in a minute or two, they take around 10-15 min from start up to takeoff which is much quicker than normal sorties
Exactly what I was thinking.
You clearly don't understand aircraft and should not comment.
Along with all the pre flight checks as well.. got to make sure your aircraft is safe to fly
I thought that this was just a training exercise (maybe it is idk) because of no weapons on the hard points and Russian camouflaged F-16s, but then it switched to different fighter jets intercepting the Russian aircraft. Am I missing something?
Would be so cool to even ride in the F16
Badass F-16’s !!!
The REAL Top Guns! 💪💪💪💪💪💪
Dont get the title since its probably Air National Guard....in S. Carolina. Training possibly since those vipers have no weapons.
Watching this brought back some scary memory if you have ever been station overseas there were alert barns those doors only open for one reason other than maintenance there is no practice run
I was stationed at Wurthsmith AFB, MI. We had an active fighters and if they launch, you got your body out of the way from the doors as the afterburner would blow you far away.
@lewayneg9264 this was back in the eighties we were in a cold war
Wait for (co)pilot flight instruktor helicopters and wing aircrafts
Intercept of the Russian Bears in Alaska is frequently happening .and yes you can see Russia from a USA island
เยี่ยมชม
0:39 was definitely a scene from Top Gun 😂
😂
Interceptors without weapons? Yes, these are of course very credible facts. :-)
Love idle sound
Keine Chance hier.
Amazing that it "only" took 3.5 minutes to get on the runway when they're intercepting enemy aircraft. Not to mention, the planes in the hangar had no armament on them but they were loaded for bear when they got airborne. When did they have time to load the missiles between when they left the hangar and when the got on the runway for take-off? Oh yeah, the swept wing design of the aircraft flying with the bombers is indicative of the Tomcat, not the F16.
Just as well the RAF fighters in WW2 didn't take as long to get airborne. Americans don't half fanny about.
They didnt have the missiles on initially because they had to get the quick spray paint job for camouflage.
@@waynemcnabb979also to change the tail from South Carolina to Alaska.
Is that True!!! 3 minutes?
That looks really nonchalant. Not rushed at all on my opinion 🤷♂️
Would hope that the military aircraft be fully armed
They take off with no missiles and then BAM, they got missiles at altitude. Damnedest thing I’ve ever seen.
Grabbed the wrong A/C…missiles were on the other one parked to the left. Lol. Then it transformed from a C to a D on taxi. Was a LONG taxi too…apparently to another base
Drones cannot fly like these men and women can
This video reminded me of the movie Iron Eagle. Just so everyone understands, alert takeoffs are not like this video. Retired F-16 crew chief that did alert duty after 9-11. I only clicked on this to see if some dipstick actually did a video of what we did back then. Glad it's just a low quality video of F-16's doing F-16 shit.
Wenn das ein Start war zum Abfangen, wo war die Bewaffnung? Die F16 am Anfang hat keine Sidewinder oder ähnliches an den Flügellastträgern.
Prob training
Eher Propaganda Scheisse
Nice click bait, jets with no missiles taking off, then you show the F16 Agressors. Then you show jets with training missiles landing.
Most of these birds came from Hahn AB in Germany, Those were our 1st and 2nd generation 16s... I was around them more often than not
These are Block 52's in this video. Hahn had Block 25's IIRC when it closed in the early 90's.
Tq
so the planes in the beginning didn't have any missiles, the planes taking off do. did they leave the hanger to arm up ?
미국 퍼스 에어.
화이팅!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Is this Shaw fab?
한국공군은 항상 이륙때 에프터버너를 쓴다네요...
Our God bless America
China jets got away at this rate
I use to fly those
Só esqueceram os mísseis. Fala a verdade amigo: é um exercício.
The Tu-95 is accompanied by an F-15 from the left, see 4:58 or 5:20 in the case of the second plane (the distance between the rear horizontal control planes is much larger compared to one engine, double vertical control plane, etc.). The design of the wing is not F-16 either.
Impressive very good fotage
I luv the tube
It's wasn't so fast as I expected Americans to be
Girl was standing there like she was bored.
Nais 🙋👍👍
RAF pilots are already with flying gear and helmets on when they climb in the cockpit, this US base eould gave been attacked before they were airborne.
The jets are already prepped by the ground crew so the pilot following routine protocol before scrambled departure is smarter than jumping into a jet all geared up.
Israeli pilots are already in the sky. Been this way since 1973. Allies should learn from this.
😊😊@@trdshortbus8009
Wow they fly from South Carolina
IF THIS WAS A REAL ATTACK
JETS WOULD BE TAKING OFF
FROM ALL AVAILABLE RUNWAYS
I like how they got a new paintjob and armament load from the time they left the hanger to the time of takeoff. Additionally, a SSGT piloting? Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you must be a commissioned officer to pilot.
That SSGT is the crew chief. Pilot's name goes on the port side, crew chief on the starboard.
This is not alert status ACFT. I have been there and done that.
In the time this video showed the Air Force launching their aircraft, the Navy has already launched their alert aircraft and is already set to send an entire assortment of aircraft just after on top of that.
Good morning you are so very beautiful and special. Terry
Those SC 16's aren't going to be intercepting anything without anything on those hard points... lol
POV: when your propaganda department get's lazy 🤣🤣🤣
Diffiantly an unrestricted climb departure.
🇺🇸🦅😎⚓🍺
SWEET!
Without A2A missiles and armaments? Not likely!
nah... they just wanted a Chick-fil-A
oops.. they forgot their arms.. no missiles? then the ones in the air have them.. must have been magic? maybe just title the video correctly? still cool to watch them fly
At the time of the emergency, were there cameramen already in the region? We are indeed in modernity.
From Brazil
You can tell this is Air force. The Navy would have been off the deck and mission accomplished before they even left the ground.
cool forceplane
I think they were actually taking off to intercept a Chinese weather balloon lol!
lol
やはり凄いですね、上がるだけでドラム缶1本炊くのですから。
That's McEntire air guard base in Hopkins S.C. I really doubt there are any Russian jets in S.C.
What's with the fake thumbnail? Is it even necessary?
Nothing Americans love more than a fight. Armor up.
Unarmed F-16s. Very intimidating.
Best
Just in your dream !
ready.
Why are these aircraft just sitting there so long?
Hmmm if that was a rush I’ve seen quicker disabled buggies, and if they were going to intercept why was there nothing on the rails? What were they going to do deliver a strongly worded letter ?
Went from McEntire in SC to Elmendorf in AK and then back to McEntire?
They should’ve been in the fighters ready to scramble
Fake News! The F-16's in the hanger had no missiles and suddenly on take off they got repainted and had sidewinders. Who edited this,Mr.Maggo?
Navy Carrier Birds are off the deck in under one minute.
Typically, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more for a pilot to go from being on alert to being airborne. Factors that can impact this include the need to conduct pre-flight checks, the distance to the aircraft, and any necessary fueling or maintenance that needs to be done before takeoff.
then you have never been on the Flight deck of a US carrier in a war zone@@lamarw7757
Operacao de Interceptação !
The F-16C doesn't appear to be carrying live ammunition.
