Every single one of these folks are my heroes. Thank you for your service. This includes every person in the air and on the ground. I fly my flag for all of you every single day. PS... My Granddad was in the Army in WW1 in France and my Dad was in the Army in the Pacific in WW2. They would be so proud of all of you, but most of all they would be so impressed! Thanks again for keeping us safe. Everyone in the United States owes you a debt of gratitude.
That was a privilege to watch. Not only the jump…but carrying these mammoth loads onto the craft + having to sit far from being comfortable.
You are brave US men…thank you from a British lady! 😁🙋♀️

Paul Jones made my first jump yesterday, most unreal feeling in the world!
Paul Jones some don't have it. we call them LEGS! haha. but seriously you'll notice the ones that refuse, it'll be a big lapse between jumpers....
William Lochner welcome to the family.
The balls it takes to do this in the line of fire is crazy. It only makes me respect the Normandy paratroopers even more.
Have more IQ please, they won't be dropped under fire. They move to an enemy from a safe distance on foot. It's not an action movie or a game where a viewer or a player can't wait for action. In the best scenario an enemy won't even see the plane. To have no information where are they are coming from, how many of them are out there.
There hasn't been a combat jump since the 1991 Persian Gulf war I'm like 90% sure. And before that, not since WW2. Again only like 90% sure.
@@johnroscoe2406 Actually, there were combat jumps in both Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury) in 1983 and in Panama (Operation Just Cause) in December 1989. I believe both operations had jumps at minimum height (500ft), (at least by the Rangers, maybe not the 82nd, I dunno) which meant they left their reserve chutes at home (either the main opens fine, or you splat!!). I have heard some crazy stories of the Delta raid on Carcel Modelo prison in Panama, to free American Kurt Muse.
My Grandfather was in the NZ Army in Crete when the first large scale German Paratrooper attack was used in WW2. The Germans lost 150 planes and thousands of men yet still managed to win the battle. It must have been brutal.
Nothing but respect.
I've worked for the Dutch Royal Airforce but I have never seen anything like this. Very impressive.

"Stand up, Hook up, Shuffle to the door........" Still get butterflies just watchin em go through the ritual. In "Jump Week" my 1st Jump was outta a C130 then the third was outta a C131 and of course I was FIRST AT THE DOOR! I had a small "Cigarette Roll" on my last jump but pedaled my way to a full chute. Best three weeks in the Military and the chow at Benning was SUPER! Thank you, "RED CAPS"!!!
The first man or two shuffled to the door. The rest hit that door at a dead run. There wasn't time to slow down, much less stop.
C141.
Thank you for your service!
I remember my first jump, it sucked donkey dicks. When I arrived at Benning the day before Jump School was to start, I found they hadn’t sent my medical records, so I had to get an Airborne physical and wait two weeks for the next class to start. During tower week in that class, I hurt my leg and was profiled for two weeks. I was recycled back into Alpha company, same squad, same platoon, a “G” was put next to my roster number, and the cadre called me “Private Airborne.” Our jump week was nearly washed out, it rained the first 3 days, meaning we had to get in 5 jumps on Thursday and Friday. On my first jump, my platoon sergeant, Staff Sergeant Marshall (with whom I had shared Thanksgiving dinner 3 weeks before), saw me and yelled “Private Airborne, do you want to stand in the door?” I yelled back “Not clear Sergeant Airborne!” He gave me a toothy grin and said “Get yo ass up here!” The LT who was in line to stand in the door (Borjas was his name) stepped back, and I hooked up in his place. I kept my eyes open, and performed a more or less okay jump. But that first one was the only one I ever did without puking on the plane, or on the ground as soon as I got up from my PLF. We got our wings pinned on in the field on after our final jump, there was no graduation ceremony, no diplomas, just a quick bus ride back as people had flights to catch. The next morning I and a few others formed up on the cables to be picked up by RIP.
Brave men and women serving their country. RESPECT ✊. God bless and keep you all safe.

I joined the RAF Air Training Corp aged about 13 back in 1967 because I wanted to be a paratrooper. Living in Berkshire, if you put your ATC uniform on, walked down to the main road, put your thumb out would soon get a lift, especially to RAF Brize Norton and RAF Benson.
Once there, you could go to one of the Squadrons and get a flight to somewhere. I did it often and flew in quite a few RAF transport planes and on one flight, which was an Argosy, during the flight the back door was dropped and I was sat (strapped in) quite close to it. I literally peed my pants, as I was absolutely petrified at the noise, the wind, the coldness of the air and even though not being to see vertically down what I could see was mind-blowing.
Suffice to say, after that experience I realize I could never be a paratrooper and since that time, I have had such respect for anyone who choose to jump out of a plane with just a parachute to save their life. But four years later I did join the RAF but as an Aerial Photographic Operator where I spent most of my time, underground in highly secure intelligence centers processing and printing B&W photographs to be made into large maps of places in Russia.

Also if you are a Russian, later in life I went there three times to Yekaterinburg and Moscow, initially wary of me but once they knew I was treated very well, had a great time and found most Russians to be very clever people, unlike sadly some of the Brits we now have living here.

Wow, it's changed so much in some ways, and that's the number exiting at once on top of each other. The pay load each one carries is huge now, as well as the size and shape of the canopy is better today. What has NOT changed is the courage and heart to do this time after time for the little money you get added. We all did it because we loved being different and the best. PLUS, I hoped it would help to pick up girls.....which it didn't. No girls ever around. Never ever saw a girl in jump school or for the next couple of years really.
Not that my military service could be compared to jumping out of a C-17 Globemaster, but I love how you can see how they fight the nerves like we all would before the jump and they do their job. And after touching ground and your adrenaline is at 100%, it is all quiet and you still just got to do your job clipping off shute and getting gear ready. Nobody telling you you did a good job. It was only a way to get you down there to start actually doing what you were trained for. You feel lonely and so accomplished at the same time.

So amazing a plane that big can get in the air!!
There's really no limit as to how big a plane you can get in the air - the wings generate lift proportionate to their size. Also, this plane is rather modest by modern standards.
If you think that is big, then check out the photos of USS Akron (ZRS-4), the US Navy Flying Aircraft Carrier back in 1930s

To make it all come out that precise is just a testament to the discipline all the way thru: The discipline enacted by those that made the chutes, the cords, the material, etc; to the discipline needed in making sure each chute is packed correctly; in making aircraft; in training the pilots; and of course the discipline of the soldiers jumping out. They must have all gone thru training, on the ground, in the planes well before executing this maneuver. Well done.

@@sharonmontano4924 yes. The 172 is designed to have the windows opened in flight or even the doors removed. Particularly from the early roots in artillery spotting

THIS
McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle Operational History • PART 2
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright.
He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight.
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar.
You ain't gonna jump no more.
Chorus:
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
He ain't gonna jump no more.
"Is everybody happy?" cried the sergeant looking up.
Our hero feebly answered, "Yes", and then they stood him up.
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock.
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop.
The silk from his reserve spilled out and wrapped around his legs.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome.
Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones.
The canopy became his shroud, he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind.
He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind.
He thought about the medicos and wondered what they'd find.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild.
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled.
For it had been a week or more since last a 'chute had failed.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He hit the ground, the sound was "Splat," his blood went spurting high.
His comrades they were heard to say, "A helluva way to die."
He lay there rolling 'round in the welter of his gore.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the 'chute.
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratrooper suit.
He was a mess, they picked him up and poured him from his boots.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
did you just made that up ?
Nicolas Andersson I’m not a paratrooper...or any military for that matter. But I do believe that is a song called “Blood on the Risers”. I remember it from Band of Brothers.
We would sing it on our morning runs. But thats all.
How can you fear it if you embrace it.. Awesome.

God Bless ❤️🙏these soldiers 😇
Some people must really enjoy these kinds of things - proud of them! I’d be terrified with an instructor at peace time 😂.
See you in 3 billion years when this is getting recommended again.
We will all be dead by that time frame.
Global warming: m I a joke to u?
Isn’t the sun gonna blow up in a few million years lol
It is the year 3,000,002,019. The sun is on it’s last days and bigger. The earth is a hot flaming rock. Aliens land and find the internet. They go to TH-cam where they see a video made three billion years ago.
It is a bit uncivilized but what fun
