2 bits of advise.
1. Don't need grease and oil when using assembly lube. The assembly lube will stick.
2. I've stopped putting lube into oil pumps, had one that wouldn't turn because the lube is thicker

Should new pistons make a slight scraping sound when installed new and crank turned over by hand? I took out a piston to check rings, and they were all good. Makes me think this is normal but need second opinion. Cyclinder walls are clean too... it's very confusing

Are these oversized pistons? Is it possible to use over size pistons in this block without new sleeves? My engine just broke down because of a broken sparkplug. One exhaust valve was damaged by the ceramic parts of this spark plug. And now I am trying to figure out what is possible to rebuild the engine. When I took the head of, I saw that the cylinder walls seem to be worn-out, because they are to blank and shiny.

😮 you didn’t install the oil pump gasket. Between the block and pump, maybe you realise after?

4G63T balance shafts don't look like that.
I know that's Mazda but I thought they were all similar..
