My pins don’t fit my rod small end bore. Any advice?

If I change the rods (one had a spun bearing) on my 2.3L Mazda Turbo with these rods, would the crankshaft need re-balancing at a machine shop or are they OEM weighted?
How did they work for you?

so I have the manley platinum pistons 22.5 mm wrist pin on their way, but struggling to find manley h-beam rods everybody out of stock. Thinking of molnar h-beam rods. would we have any problem with these rods?

I'm currently building a spare engine for my ms3 I have manly h tuff beams and platinum pistons and a stage 3 rebuild kit from edge autosport I can decide what bearings to use. I'm just doing a mild build. I want a bullet proof bottom end and daily reliability. I'm not shooting for anything crazy just full bolt ons and a bnr s2/3 turbo . So what bearings would you recommend or have the best of luck with

Manley 87.5 pistons? Gapped at 0.020 top and 0.024 second ring?

Very helpful thank you, I was looking to replace some pistons in my Mazdaspeed3 (2007) and I was looking at the Manley Platinum Series, any opinions on that?

Jack Powell I loooooove Manley platinum series Pistons, on my engine that's what I used to make over 600hp

I am curious as to what rod bearings you’re using. I have the OEM press fit and they would spin freely if I tried to install them. The engine builder that’s helping me said that Manley rods use a tanged rod bearing instead of OEM.

Do Manley rods have markings to distinguish the thrust side when assembling them into to block?

MrStoneycool69 it depends engine to engine because not all rods are the same obviously but if we’re speaking purely mazdaspeed 4 cylinder there is not a mark on the rod. I always put the manly etching facing the front of the engine, if you have a V engine you’re going to want the big chamfers to face the cheek of the crankshaft, i hope that helps, if you’re still having trouble message me on our Facebook page and I’ll try to help you more!

Why do you hate Wiseco pistons? Are they not manufactured properly ??

    • @hockeynube11

mikef058 there is nothing wrong with them technically. I feel like they made a cookie cutter pistons. As in they took their original run of the mill piston and just made it to the size of the mazdaspeed bore. Also they have SUPER short skirts so that’s where the piston slap comes from when they are cold. And the other reasons I mention in the video

What’s the absolute MAX horsepower a stock MZR mazdaspeed engine can withstand before running into engine problems?

Why do pistons matter for a 4 cyl vs a v8? Lmao
