    Just in disbelief on your ability to tackle these projects and get the deals you do on parts lol. Let's see this speed 3 come to life!

    thosse Denso spark plugs are cursed i tell you! They are shit plugs whomever started the rumor they was better over the stock plugs which were twin tipped irridiun $15 each plugs... is a nub. Seroously that line of densos is sketchy if u try to find them in a catalog, denso says only certain itv plugs actually are iridium and particularly those were not them lol $7 plugs with threaded on electrodes...
    nice job and very fortunate find. Looks like they intended on hacking off the whole exhaust at some point. kinda weird but ive seen a shop do this before. Lazy hack jobs

      Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind! Yeah some people I wonder what they think sometimes trying to cut a manifold!

    I'm changing my speed 3 timing chain in a couple weeks and I'm wondering if you have any heads up advice, or price saving techniques to throw my way. I'm in college, so i'm always down to save a buck when I can.

      I looked at a bunch of videos on the topic before attempting tis and the rest is just a matter of taking your time and going one step at a time. 👍

    How many coolant temperature sensors do these motors have is it one or two I'm having issues but I don't know if there's one or two

    • @DrivingProduction

      I'm not sure tbh I just connect the sensors back where they go 😅

    Deleting the balance shaft is a must. I’ve done it on a brand new disi from the factory in a wooden box.

      Yes for sure! It's soooo heavy! That's great you got to it right away!

    You really should change the rod bearing on these motors - they are famous for going first.

      Thanks!! I haven't installed this engine in the car yet, but I recently did this mod on my Mazda 5 and it makes the engine rev freer, there's a little bit more NVH from the engine but not that much.

    Great work, JP! Way to try something new- it's always intimidating especially with expensive car parts but that's how we learn!

      he said $200.

    • @chillywz3011

      @@OWNERAdminUser 200 was just for the car he took the motor from, obviously all the parts he put in cost hundreds more

    • @DrivingProduction

      The "used" but new timing was $450, engine was $200, Paint, gasket maker and other parts maybe another $75-100, the balance shaft delete came off the engine that came with the black MS3 so I already had it. That's all in CAD for pricing.

    • @OWNERAdminUser

      @@chillywz3011 still the costs were minimal for a video titled the way his is..

    Love you're style of content, showing us the little details in the building process is gold. Idk if this is in your plans but while the motor is out, believe me it's best to buy new OEM injectors. They tend to fail at medium to high mileage regardless of professional cleaning. Hope this helps can't wait to see more!

    I hope you didn’t tighten the crank bolt with the timing tools in place. That’s a really good way to snap off the end of the cams and break the timing pin off in the back of the engine. The tools tell you to remove them before doing final torque.

    • @DrivingProduction

      Yes you're right it does mention it on the tools and with the procedure. What i did is remove the crank bolt after I torque the initial 75lb/ft, having it off for the 90 degree final torque down. I've seen some people keep the tool in in the crank, but for the cams they can break if you keep them locked in like you mentioned. What you said it the right way to do it.

    • @OWNERAdminUser

      hahaha i seen someone do that! The one good cam left too.. Exhaust cam end broke off. long story but the intake cam was trashed already anyway.
