@erniescabin4256 I just finished all my morning chores and finished up a chicken run door project, I automated water for the chickens and the other animals, it's the chore I hate the most.
You can work all day to pay for a roof over your head and a car to get you to place to pay all that and you might get ‘somewhere’… or you can wake up and plug in your solar generator and fill water bottles and spend the day clearing tumbleweeds and chinking your cabin on your land that you own free and clear.
These chores are so worth it! Bottle baby goats are what prepared me to raise a child. Waking up every 2 hours was already a normal thing.😂 i lost my goats when oak creek flooded outside sedona az. I miss them so much!
@@autismenlightenment so worth it! Yea bottle babies are just like human babies in so many ways 😂 condolences for your loss, I understand how hard that is ❤️🩹 maybe one day you will have goats again?
Must admit I do take running water for granted. It is satisfying though that all of your hard work is paying ur future generations. Every job is more meaningful in this respect ig. Great work guys
Very satisfying 😄 it is all work to create a space that is self sustaining and requires little “brought in”. It is meaningful in the present too, by taking responsibility for ourselves, doing our best to help the nature now (and for future), and simply meaningful in the way that we are doing what we love to do and living the way we feel is “right”. Thank you! More work ahead ✌🏾💜
@@a_fellow_homesteader How on earth do you keep those chicks in the bucket at night...I did something similar once and woke up to them having decided that my bed was a better nest 😂
@@gracegroh4711 lol! I kind of nest them in, and cover em up a bit, they get antsy in the mornings if I am not quick to get them to their pen, have ended up with them pecking my face one or twice telling me to get my butt in hear 😂😅✌🏾💜 🐥
I’m off grid now for the last several months… so far, the running water is what I miss the most. There’s a water fill station less than 10 mins away from me, but I don’t have the equip to haul it, so I’m dependent on others for that. My guy has gone absent. So I’m about to run out and need to find another company.
@@OfftoShambala running water is always the hardest to “go without” i miss it too 😅 we totally understand the struggle of hauling water (when our rain catchment is short) I hope you find a new guy to haul water for you! Tough spot to be in!
We have been off grid 9 years, this is our second “homestead build up” we like automation and tech for sure, but we prefer less automation and simplicity for most things. To us, chores are important projects, I enjoy the time (most) of them take. Makes us feel more connected to everything as a whole 🥰✌🏾💜
@@RDubdo It is obvious, as someone who lives off grid and is working to grow all our own food, I sure know it takes a LOT MORE Work, time, water, space, to successfully grow enough grains, fruits and veggies with proper preservation to fulfill all our needs, than it does to raise animals to supplement our needs. So being vegan would definitely amplify our work load.
Chores!!! I prefer to call them fun things to do while living in country to keep you young and healthy😊💕👍✌

When building up the homestead, look into automation, those chores add up and take time away from important projects.
