    Thanks for sharing this sassy version of Wardorf Salad!!! I had never thought of using Paprika in a salad...but I can live dangerously and try it!!! Best wishes in getting a segment on the Food Network Diva...you have all the excitement to get Humanity interested in makinG this tasty salad!!! Plz ignore any trolls to your channel as a lot of people are very miserable and will go out of their way to bring others down and since you are on the Internet you are an easy target for their unhappiness!!! Merci Beaucoup dear soul!!!

      Hello Sandra! Oh my! You gave me goose bumps with your very kind and caring comments! Thanks so much for your support of Clubfoody, I really appreciate it!. How did you know trolls have visited my channel? LOL...! I agree with you... It's easy to be critical especially when you don't put yourself out there. They don't bother me because as you mentioned, they are miserable and try to bring others down to their level. If I ever get on to be on the Food Network, you'll be one of the first person I'll be thinking of... Bienvenue ma belle dame! (you're welcome my dear lady!) Have a fabulous week... ☺

    Looks delishish! Can someone please tell me what apples are best to use in a Waldorf salad? Not really sure what to pick up.

    This is NOT the original Waldorf Salad...the ORIGINAL had only apples, grapes & celery and was dressed with mayonnaise with a touch of sugar mixed in. Walnuts were added by the the mid 1920's. The salad you present here is definitely not the same nor was the Waldorf's the last time I tasted it. Surprisingly the plain real mayo with sugar added does give the best flavor. I MUCH prefer the original with the walnuts than any other of the many, many versions I have tasted over the past 65 years.

      Oh my Judy! Let's starts from the beginning sweetheart! First the original, like you so like to mention, has apples, grapes and celery...in mine I DON'T add celery... big deal! As mentioned on my blog, this is my VERSION of it and NEVER said it was the original. If you watch carefully my video, I do make the dressing with mayo (real not fake... lol) as well as adding sugar which is HONEY! And surprisingly the 1st ingredient I showcase is "walnuts". mmmmm!Now in the culinary world, chefs and home cooks making their own version of classical recipes is totally acceptable and it makes things more interesting. For your information (I'm not a bragger but I will this time), I shared this particular recipe with a well known chef in San Diego area and this is now on his menu of his 5 star establishment... not too bad but a bad version of "Waldorf Salad". P.S. Wow that's a lot of capital words in these two messages... lol! oh well what can I say.... ☺

      What can I say but I am sorry...and I am. This remark was never intended for you...it was intended for a recipe that included horseradish and Miracle Whip and it was called The Original Waldorf Salad.... Now, I can't even find the site I seen it on...Please accept my sincere apology ...I feel stupid and ashamed....your recipe is just fine as you and everybody else knows. Judy

    • @clubfoodycom
      @clubfoodycom  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don't worry Judy! Everyone is entitled to their opinion! I believe Miracle Whip came around the early 30s' while the Waldorf Salad was created in the late 20s'... I totally agree with you that Miracle Whip (really horseradish....?) is not an ""original" ingredient nor is horseradish... (I still can't wrap my brain around that particular ingredient... lol). Please don't feel bad (now I'm the one who feel bad that I defended myself so strongly...)! and I hope you'll come and visit my Club Foody channel for more recipes. Have a fabulous day Judy!
