@@GothGoneWrong The rewritten line is "Infantile sermons, the multitude drools." Tim Rice said he changed it because the original one was a false rhyme (rhyming "fools" with "cool") but I still prefer the original line.
@@Blokewood3 interesting...to me the original line sounds a thousand times better than the new one false rhyme or not!
This is a perfect subversion of the expectations. Those staffs look like something you'd expect high priests to have, and to not only have become mics, but to have them be part of the choreography, is an inspired choice.

Saw this production of the show last night. Having seen it many times before with Ted Neeley my expectations were high. These guys did the show proud. Smaller production so it took a bit more to get the actual picture in my mind that they were trying to convey but the vocals by all the cast were outstanding. Worth seeing again and again.

I saw the version at the Barbican which was a few years earlier, the used the same choreography as here - with the mic staffs etc.
This was the US transfer!! The same team brought it over with an American cast. That’s the Barbican set up there, too. They shipped it over ;)

Hi! We were the original US cast through August 2022. The current tour is a scaled down non-union version of our show with younger performers!!
