    I would like you to paint all the features of the face separately. Then paint the whole face afterwards. Many thanks, always enjoy you tutorials and find them so helpful.

    A bit tired of quiet landscape today and I seem to have found next passion; watercolor portraits!! Thank you, I love the way you teach!

    This is a fantastic tutorial - more like this please, and maybe some studies of teeth, eyes and ears?

    Lovely painting! Enjoy your approach to painting portraits. It helps to break it down in steps. I still struggle with mixing skin tones as watercolour dries so much lighter. But as you said you can just do extra layers and build up gradually. So much to think about before you even start painting. I learned the hard way to swatch your colours on the same paper you are going to do your painting. I like the suggestion of doing small studies of mouth, eyes, nose etc and work up to a portrait. Thank you once again ✨🎨

      Thank you! It definitely helps to have a plan and test out colours and techniques before you start on the main painting 😊

    I loved that you followed the same pattern and techniques from your first video of 5 portrait tips. It gives continuity for the beginner and solidifies the process even more. I have found these 2 videos combined more helpful than anything else for watercolour beginner portraiture out on YT yet. Very well put together instruction and teaching. I will be deleting a lot of other portrait videos I have saved on YT until I am confident with your process- It makes the most sense to me and will stop me second guessing myself and trying to follow poorly constructed tuition videos from others. Thank-you so much, I am ready to give a portrait another try.

    I love how you captured her hair , I will definitely be taking your advice on portraits, plus I could listen to your voice all day, so very calming to the soul. Thank you

    Wow! I love this portrait. Premixing the three values of skintones ahead of time was a valuable lesson and added to the perfection of the final outcome. I love the looseness of the hair with all its lovely curls. The addition of small touches of white really set it off. Thanks for a great lesson and video.

    Beautiful work - you make it looks so easy. I am a beginner and I do struggle with drawing the face. But as you suggested, it’s good to practise each particular facial feature as a learning curve, thank you.

    Such a wonderful tutorial. I was just wondering what neutral tint is used for and how it effects another color? Thank you.

    • @SarahNewburyArt
      @SarahNewburyArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Catherine! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I use neutral tint in my paintings either to mix with other colours to darken them or on its own in areas where you might ordinarily use black as black watercolour on it's own can appear quite flat. The neutral tint I have is by Winsor and Newton and has a violet pigment in it which I really like. Hope this helps 😊

      @@SarahNewburyArt Thank you for the quick response. This really helps since I apparently bought a tube of W&N neutral tint but had no idea what it was used for 😂.
