Especially when they give you super old blood smear from the archive where all cells overlap...Brrrrrruhh that becomes like Rorschach test at a times XD
How can you order a lab to do a search for hypersegmented neutrophils? On a CBC, is that a standard diagnostic check that is always done? Or would a search for that only be triggered by an MCV being above the high end of the normal range?
In the institution where I work, you usually first have to order a blood smear and then even call and specifically tell the doctor looking at the smear what your differential diagnosis is. In other words it's basically a kind of hematologic consult.
@@peev2 So basically you would be ordering a very generic consultation, such as Labcorp's Hematopathology Consultation, Peripheral Smear TEST: 005300. Then you specify what you want examined in that consult.
Another one! Thank you sir for blessing me with your videos. I appreciate you
Good Explanation, Dr. Eric 👍

Hi, if the paleness of RBCs would this be the result for any stain?
I'm very sorry, but I don't understand your question. Could you try rephrasing it?
Thanks for your video. I am eagerly waiting for next video.
Thank you sir

@@persistentone3448 Well, sounds like it, even though I've never heard of Labcorb's hemopathology test 005300, but sure yeah.
THANK YOU
Thank you. Very helpful
My blood test shows normocytic normochromic blood picture
Is that normal?
I can't give specific, individualized medical advice on here, but as the terms imply, normocytic and normochromic are both normal findings.
does hypersegmented eosinophils mean leukemia if b12 folate are normal?
Thank you for this!
