I can’t get the vocals turned down on Apple Music. Also the lyrics button is greyed out for all the songs I tried this on…. This feature sounds great but I can’t seem to make it work on my phone… any thoughts? Thanks for your great videos!!

There is some disappointments though. apple have been very slow to include other languages to their advanced features like visual lookup translations app and such, I live in Sweden and is a native Swedish speaker, I’m fairly fluent in English but still prefer to keto my device in Swedish. Many features are supported in Swedish too, but the mentioned once’s are glaring omissions that would be really useful to have in my language too. I think there is a real concern that some of the features coming in iOS 18 might be hampered by this limitation for me… what do you think?
I think we need a little clarification on the instrumentals. I have the Music app, but I choose to not pay for the Apple Music streaming service. I downloaded loads of songs on iTunes back in the day and use those still on my device. Both lyrics and the karaoke feature appear to be unavailable to me. Is this because I don’t pay for the streaming?
My iPhone 11 pro, using IOS 17.4.1 doesn't have the personal voice simulator. (It does have the live voice, though) Is this (personal voice) something that only works on newer iPhones?
I also have an LG washer, but it's not clear how to play the finished tone outside of running a cycle 5 times.

My question is do you know if you can delete duplicate photos without losing the original? When I transferred them from my old phone, it duplicated them all! YIKES!!! I actually have 3 copies as they duplicated them when I made albums. Any help would be appreciated! iPhone rookie
Your iPhone scans for duplicate photos and creates a duplicate photos album. You can review and then merge duplicates in the album. Keeps links to any albums and keeps best resolution with caption, location and other data.
Many thanks indeed. Very useful. Personal voice... I am an aging author and I wonder, is it possible to use this to read my books or is it just limited to short passages?
it's better to read short passages because it will sometimes quickly go through commas. where someone would normally pause for half a second, the personal voice might skip the pause

Since you know so much about iPhones, do you know how to play local mp3 files via Apple Music app? Or is there an alternative music app that plays local mp3 files you would recommend? I'm new to Apple and getting frustrated. Thinking about switching back to Samsung. Device: iPhone 15 Pro Max. Thanks!

On the Mac or or the phone? You can load your mp3s by simply dragging them into Apple Music on your Mac then sync your iPhone. They will show up on your phone in the music app. You need to look for the downloaded option in the Apple Music app on your iPhone. If you’re also subscribed to Apple Music for streaming then sometimes you can accidentally have two copies of the same album. Which can get confusing, so try not to double up mp3 with downloaded streams of the same device. The other option is to use the app VLC. It’s open source and free. Install that. Then connect your phone to your Mac. Open a new window on the desktop and click on the iPhone icon in the side bar of that window. Choose the ‘files’ option from the top bar menu. The choose VLC. Drag and drop MP3s into VLC folder. When you launch VLC you may need to refresh your media library to see the music. You can choose and remove which files VLC “sees” in the setting option. VLC has been around for years, so there are loads of tutorials if you get stuck. VLC also plays videos if you have those. I’m sure the process is vey similar if you’re on a PC and not a Mac. 1) I’ve not been able to bring up that mic symbol in Apple Music. Tried a few really well known tracks. Nothing. Tried with downloaded and non-downloaded tracks. Is this feature new to the most recent iOS update? Is it only available to recent iPhones?

The iPhone has to be running a certain chip as it is using processing power to remove vocals in real time. iPhone 11 and newer are supported I believe. Also need to be running full subscription of Apple Music, not just their Voice tier.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro and can't find "Apple Watch Mirroring". The listing goes from "Side Button" straight to "Control Nearby Devices." Am I missing a step?
Apple Watch Mirroring is available on Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Series 9.
I have an SE, so it doesn’t work for me. This may be related to your question.

I have thyroid cancer and I am English. All the words, and the grammar used in the 150 person voive sound samples are american and - ungrammatical. Will it make me sound American ? Also, I replaced some American terms with ones I may actually use. Have you any idea what effect that could have ? Thanks !
Replacing the terms in the recording will most likely produce a less effective voice overall. You're not recording phrases that are ever going to be repeated. You're giving the software a broad enough dataset of you speaking words. You choose the actual words that you say when you use Personal Voice. For example, the AI might ask you to say the word 'garbage' in a phrase, but unless you ever type the word 'garbage' when using Personal Voice, your synthesised voice will never actually say that word. Same with accent, the AI captures your accent from you speaking the phrases. I would strongly suggest that you follow the instructions, and speak the requested words.

If you open your photos icon, then tap on the Albums tab at the bottom of the screen you can scroll down to the Utilities section and tap Duplicates. This is where you can view all the duplicate photos on your iPhone and delete them or merge them. Hope this helps.

I can see lots of problems with that, saving your voice. For example, having to use a voice for financial things that use a voice for password. I can see scammers taking advantage of this.
What financial services do you know of that use only a voice for the password? I’m not familiar with any. Also, the voice files are encrypted and locked to your Apple ID. A scammer could not ‘trick’ you into making a voice, as it requires 150 very secure phrases to be said out loud. As far as security goes, this is very, very strong.
Haven’t opened the AppStore for so long, as I have all the apps I’ll ever need, that I didn’t realise game emulators were available. Yeah not really a power user.
But frankly won’t play a good old NES or SuperNES game for nostalgia on a small screen made even smaller with the controller. And won’t purchase some compatible controller for that.
Controllers are worth it. As for the screen size, if you have an Apple TV you can run an emulator there on as big a screen as you want.

I do have an emulator on my laptop, but rarely finding the desire to game casually. Specially that the games don’t look as good as they did on old lower resolution TVs from the nineties. Pixels galore.
@@zahifar3936 LOL my issue is the old games don’t look as good as my childhood memory remembered them. Things don’t look as good when you are used to contemporary technology it would seem. Still…it has been an enjoyable walk down memory lane to emulate some games on the current hardware I use everyday, rather than dig up some dusty old cartridges and portables/consoles from my drawer or closet.

asking: does anyone still uses iphone messages? i’ve been an iphone user at least for ten years and im 100% whatsapp..i only use messages to receive otp s and bank’s notifications…do you prefer m ?
In the US, Messages is the number one messaging service by far. WhatsApp is very much a non-US thing (saying that as a Brit). I wish Messages was more popular here, I hate all of my messages going through WhatsApp, but it’s all anyone uses here.
Egypt here :) whatsapp pretty much took over all comm venues even business emails with attachments… btw now watching siri knowledge..love it but it doesn’t work on my iphone how to enable it?
I use iMessage all the time. Only use WhatsApp for family overseas

@@ProperHonestTech I don’t get the sense that any of the big tech companies need our exuberant cooperation as they disabuse the public trust. Just as those years ago had pause to consider Face ID technology, with AI now, a pause might be warranted before we participate in providing unique identifiers. Apple’s recent iPad launch marketing debacle “crushing” creators seemed to project a rather dismal view of individuals vs inevitable corporate influence.
I find your videos helpful and well done. A little circumspection is sometimes warranted in these rapidly evolving technology environments.
