The order really doesn't matter, there's only three cylinders so there's only one possible order, plus its reverse. Reverse orders sound the same It's the firing _intervals_ that matter. Ordinary triples are 240-240-240, this T Plane is 270-270-180 degrees between ignitions. That's not unlike a 90 degree V twin, or a 270 parallel twin: 270-450. Could most likely be the addition of luggage weight making ground clearance less. I set my rear preload to rider and luggage even when I don't have any luggage, set the damping to full sport, and get more ground clearance to ride more sportier. Love that t-plane triple sound, reminds me of what yamaha did with the crossplane 4. Nice riding as always Schaaf.
A few years ago I pulled up next to one of these on my 1974 Kawasaki 400 triple 2-stroke. He gave me the thumb and revved the sewing machine. I blipped the throttle and zapped the tach up to 9k in about 0.5 seconds, which sounded about like a Daytona 675 at 18k. Dude's eyes got wide as dinner plates. Of course, the Tiger has an easy 3x the horsepower, but the sound is just not even close.
Didn't like as well as the old sweet triple power plant. So I went and bought a tiger 1050 AGAIN. Love it love it. Now I want a 900 too cause I can scratch both itches.
This bike is stupidly easy to ride. I thought, coming from a Street triple 765rs (you should get one of those btw. I know you love them and trust me, it's a treat to own one and even ride it on the daily 😁) that this would be a heavy, ungainly motorcycle that would be quite challenging to ride. Omg i could not have been more wrong. After spending some time adjusting the suspension (showroom setting was a water bed...) getting the levers in the right place etc, within 20s of me pulling out I was SO comfortable. Except, of course, for the more forward placed footpegs. My feet kept missing them as I pulled away from traffic lights. But man, I was doing things with this in heavy traffic I would never DARE on my baby, the 765rs. Rode it like quite a tool tbh haha but it was SO fun when I did. And the wind screen is excellent. Cruising at 150kmph with no hassles at all. Great great bike.
You had both bikes? I have a 765 rs too and I'm thinking of buying a tiger 900 for daily use and travel. Maintaining the RS for short routes and circuit.

In my case the base sound of the my new brand Tiger 900 GT Pro is very similar to this one, but when accelerating and reaching the 3000 rpm a background high pitched sound, similar to the crackling or pinging that the metallic objects do when cooling after heating them up can be perceived. Hi.
Yep, they use a crossplane crankshaft. Unfortunately, when it's used in a triple... It becomes boring to listen to. But they sound 10x better in real life, I promise you that!
I am getting an 850 fitted with the oem quickshifter, you should change your name to scraper. You got some stones doing that, I am always thinkin marrying hard parts like that gonna bike me if there is a sideways crack in the road.
So how about tighten it up, set the suspension to pillion and luggage? Just an idea. See if it can handle the mighty Schaaf!!!!!!! I think it will be fine for me, not quite as demanding but we shal see.
I’m in Taiwan. Looking for ADV bike recently. I got Africa Twin L DCT & Tiger900 Rally Pro test ride. I like Africa Twin engine style and clean monitor only. But DCT lost a lot of fun on clutching. In TW, dealer offers Rally Pro & GT Pro with Brembo brake, TPMS, quickshifter, fog light, rear rack. By contrast, Africa Twin is cheaper and without those stuff. I still thinking about decision. Would you give some suggestions?
Schaaf i seen youve riden both the gt and the rally, how do you find them both with taking corners fast with the rally having the taller suspension and bigger diameter spoked wheels, im wanting to buy one, but i look to give it some now and then. And never go off road, and like to take a pillion out with me often
the Rally has more ground clearance and the suspension feels a bit more premium. So as weird as it sounds I'd get the Rally Pro even if its for road riding

Man sollt dann wissen was man tut ;-)
@@ralfrichter971 Vielen Dank!
The new triumph triples sound like a parallel twin.
Just what I was thinking. It's a shame..
Yep, they use a crossplane crankshaft. Unfortunately, when it's used in a triple... It becomes boring to listen to.
But they sound 10x better in real life, I promise you that!
@@baar_nii This engine is the equivalent of a Yamaha R1 engine minus one cylinder. Triumph calls it the "T crank".
I also miss the old sound but still it is a much better ride
Great riding! Rakitna rules! I live very close and have Yamaha MT 07. Bike is just make for that road. Come again :)
Thanks man!
Is there any other twisty road to recommend nearby? I am from Cro and planning to visit Slo next May.
@@maxster10 Whole country is made of twisty roads :) Head to Karst and our coast...plenty there. Ride safe
Did you try another front suspension settings?
hey schaaf, nice video. do you think this bike can tackle off-road and do alright?
Light Offroad will be no issue for it
I am getting an 850 fitted with the oem quickshifter, you should change your name to scraper. You got some stones doing that, I am always thinkin marrying hard parts like that gonna bike me if there is a sideways crack in the road.
well I obviously wouldn't ride like that on a bad road lol
Sounds nice
Thanks Kevin
Nice bike!
Thanks Sam
Nice vid!! I think that u were faster with the 800xc, is that true? 🐯🚀
Maybe because I could ride that for hours before recording the video ;)
schaaf.. did you manage to scrape foot pegs in some corners?
Please read the inserts :)
So how about tighten it up, set the suspension to pillion and luggage? Just an idea. See if it can handle the mighty Schaaf!!!!!!! I think it will be fine for me, not quite as demanding but we shal see.
we did. Doesn't work
I’m in Taiwan.
Just pick the one you feel more confident with
Is the triumph as good as the suzuki 800 De?
Schaaf i seen youve riden both the gt and the rally, how do you find them both with taking corners fast with the rally having the taller suspension and bigger diameter spoked wheels, im wanting to buy one, but i look to give it some now and then. And never go off road, and like to take a pillion out with me often
the Rally has more ground clearance and the suspension feels a bit more premium. So as weird as it sounds I'd get the Rally Pro even if its for road riding
@@Schaaf thanks for the quick reply, really appreciate your input, rally it is! As it does make complete sense
@@SchaafThat’s what I thought when testing the 2 bikes.
OMG Hell of a riding
Thanks
