Being beaten by Harley (he was still ready to take her on had it not been for ivy) and captured by penguin is not a good look. For me he is a mixed bag on the other hand we see him casually handle croc with Batman, taking down the Penguin casually in lock up DLC and saving Batman early in the sidequest.
This dlc is the reason I liked this version of Tim Drake honestly. Not only did he free Batman but fighting his way through Harley's men and a *titan* and casually (after they were trash talking him) solidified as a confident and capable fighter.
I think Arkham City is where I realized I might like Robin more than Batman. It feels nice playing as a character who is badass but also capable of being genial.
Gotta be the Batman The Animated Series's Robin for me. He's still got the goofy Adam West-era charm, but starts getting a bit darker as Batman does. Quintessential Batman all the way round imho.
Agree in all seriousness, my favourite isn’t Lego Robin, it’s probably TASM Robin, the whole show is essential Batman viewing but Robin is actually really well done
Out of all the Arkham DLC across the series, this is my second favorite. Seeing Robin handle his own against Harley and her thugs was awesome. Additionally, fighting the maniacal Guardians was a nice way to show the player what to expect in New Game Plus if they chose to play the DLC before New Game Plus.
Robin is excellent in arkham and was set up to replace batman perfectly. And it's the last time tim drake was tim drake (no thanks to the comics little retcon) Harley reflects tim in arkham knight both are betrayed by mentors who died and never said goodbye and both were locked away in the movie studio. The arkham episode also shows tim being in the balance of good and bad. The statue behind two fave is a man being pulled by an angel and a bat like demon. The demon is batman's legacy, and the angel is Barbra. Tim is an excellent character in arkham, and I think I was robbed of his own game as red robin or even batman beyond in an arkham sequel.
We got Rob(in)bed I've honestly always adored Robin from childhood to now, but I think my favourite take is from Young Justice season 1. Cunning and experienced yet playful and jokey, the embodiment of Bruce's wish to protect any child from what he suffered and still suffers with. It perfectly sets the stage for him to become Nightwing later and leave a legacy of sidekicks without overshadowing the fun and brightness that makes me love both Dick Grayson and Robin Also I love the hood. Hoods are cool.
The weirdest part of Knight is that Penguin can kill Nightwing if Batman stands there and does nothing, but Nightwing initiates the takedown when you do the prompt.
Tim Drake is definetely my favorite character of all time, even though now DC made him....well...I'll not say shitty but he definetely isn't as good as he was. In the comics from the 90s to 2011 he was 10/10, from 2012 to 2015 a 4/10, from 2016 to 2018 a 7/10 and from 2019 until now he has been an 5,5/10. I wish DC brought up a history where they tell us that the current Tim Drake is a clone and the original is lost or just forget the current Tim Drake and begin to write him like he was originally. I don't care if the explanation will be good, I just want my boy back
I know people where disappointed in the progression of Robin's character, but all in all, this is still probably Tim Drake's best adaptation (and by comparison he was still treated much better than Red Hood or Nightwing).
There should of been a Robin free roam section post Harley Quinn’s Revenge. I know doing some Robin Side missions would be a stretch but there could at least been some collectibles
This is a bit off topic, but Kevin Conroy slipped into the role Batman so effortlessly no matter what tone it was. Rest in peace to the greatest to ever do it
I do wish the consensus on robin was less of him being a joke or liability and being someone who was actually trained by the best martial artist and best detective on earth
I’m genuinely not kidding, I absolutely love Batman Forever (and Batman and Robin but thats more in a “it’s so goofy I love it” way, Forever is a genuine love of mine) and O’Donnel’s Robin specifically in that movie was my favorite ever, his arc was amazing and fit the theme of Bruces arc. While Bruce wants to quit being batman because it’s only making his life so much worse and he wants to just be happy, Dick is immature and wants to become a hero but because of revenge not to become a beacon of hope or to make the city better. They’re polar opposites and it’s such an interesting dynamic. Also, you’re lying if you tell me that o’donnel robin suit (both of them but especially forever) wasn’t FIRE
Yeah, his suits were so cool, I remember using O’Donnels Robin to try and convince my dad Robin was cool- obviously he didn’t agree but I remember thinking he was so cool
These games took such a weird approach with Tim Drake. It really wasn't a great adaptation of the character and didn't even really feel like him. Aside from the fact that Tim is a teenager in the comics, he's also supposed to be the smartest person in the Bat-Family, even more so than Batman, to the point where Batman has said that one day Tim will be the world's greatest detective, and yet that is hardly utilised in this game. He really just stayed in a lab for most of the game and just moaned about Barbara. And that's another thing, they gave him many personality traits that are supposed to be synonymous with Dick Grayson and not Tim and the most evident example is being in a relationship with Barbara which was such a bizarre decision considering that Dick and Barbara are one of the most famous couples in comic books. Also I don't understand why they chose to make Tim Drake bald in the game
A great video, fun to watch and a splendid summing up of this story add-on, overall to me this is the kind of story DLC/add-on done right, with strong connection to the main game, without becoming something very different from it, while also having its distinctness in form and essence, telling something new, important, while being moderate in terms of its length - not too short nor unnecessarily long. When it comes to this series, story add-ons tend to be this way, which is awesome. Do you think this is the best story add-on out of all add-ons of Batman: Arkham series?
Let's be real Nightwing was treated worse than Robin in these games. He got beat up by Harley Quinn. That's elite disrespect right there.
That’s very true, cannot argue with that 😂
@@CharlesCardy Harley Quinn has too much plot armor these days. She's just a crazy girl with a bat how is she able to beat characters like Batman?
Yeah true, combine that with the girllbossification of her and she’s become a real weak character
@@CharlesCardy Yeah I hate girl boss Harley I prefer the original Harley from the amazing Batman animated series.

I really loved the more depressed and edgy voice of Batman starting in this DLC and continuing in Arkham knight. It's my favorite work of Kevin
I know what you mean, it sounds good when you consider he’s a much more experienced and worn out Batman, it sounds great

Agreed, robin was actually useful here and not put down, the Guardians fight was great, just something completely new
Robin is excellent in arkham and was set up to replace batman perfectly.

I think Nightwing was done even dirtier he has no voice lines in city and in knight he gets captured twice by penguin in a single mission
Tbf nightwing works alone so no help from batman or access to his gadgets
The weirdest part of Knight is that Penguin can kill Nightwing if Batman stands there and does nothing, but Nightwing initiates the takedown when you do the prompt.
This DLC and Cold, cold heart should be up there as the greatest DLCS of all time…
It genuinely should be/is, insane run of DLC
This was actually my fist ever DLC for any game and I find it so awesome I play this every time I open Arkham city

Spoken like a true father in mourning, im with you brother, we need peak Tim back, he hasn’t been the same, maybe it’s a phase 😅😭
I loved tim but DC did ruin him and spoiler to be honest.
It's not even tim anymore it's a different character now.
@@theangryimp1345 agreed

This is a really good analysis of the DLC and....
11:30 HOLY BBL
Haha thanks bro 😅💙🦇

That could have been really cool, like the Catwoman character swap sections

Not at all off topic brother, Kevin is the undisputed goat, there’s always time for that here 💙🦇
Boi he had been HIM ever since arkham city. That design is so heat 🔥🔥🔥
I do wish the consensus on robin was less of him being a joke or liability and being someone who was actually trained by the best martial artist and best detective on earth
Agreed, I feel like he always gets the short end of the bo staff so to speak, I know exactly what you mean
Shows like teen titans go's depiction certainly didn't help.
I think Robin is my favorite character to play in this whole franchise(city specifically)
He's tied with Nightwing for me in city.
@ that’s so valid I switch between the two constantly

He may be him…
But is she her?
But is they them?
Yeah something like that 😅
Just saw this in the sub box and got gassed
Hope you enjoy brother! 💙🦇
By Scarecrow? Damn, that sucks, maybe this vid will help
Arkham city was his peak for real. Arkham knight was a bit downhill for him ✨💕😭😂♥️♥️♥️
