Now I've got everything assembled and ready to be tightened down to reinstall the deck on my XT1. A PIECE of limb 2" long got up in the box that holds the 2 idler pulleys that contain the drive belt and scalloped it. Your other video on drivebelt replac't was extremely helpful. I took a break for the Sun to set behind the trees as It's 101°. Lol Our xt1 42" has 390 hrs. In 6 yrs, replaced. 1 broken deck belt last yr. 1 spindle/quill when I did the deck belt. So in all. The drive belt 6-25-24 1 pr blades 6-25-24 2 oil changes per yr. Non ethanol gas only. It's been a very good little tractor for $1439.00 in 2018. Kohler eng. No oil leaks, no burned oil, original battery still working fine. I blow out the air cleaner with the compressor 3 X's per yr And replace the filter every spring. Thank you again. Thank
I enjoyed reading your post. Thanks for the very kind words. All the Cub Cadet XT1 and XT2 machines I have worked on that plastic idler pully has failed between 300 and 400 hrs. I wish that one part was made of steel. Otherwise, they are great machines. My XT2 is a 2018 model year also and is still on the original battery as well.

As you may recall from the video, I temporarily inflated the tube to determine the upside. One of my viewers pointed out that was not necessary as there is a ring printed on one side of the tube indicating the top. Thanks for watching.

The problem with these lawn tires is because of the very low air pressure, if there is any corrosion it is very difficult to get the tire to seal. The tubes are very inexpensive and once installed you can forget about it. Thanks for watching

Helped tremendously. No fancy stuff, just the straight poop! Don't need the stem holder, just wrap some electrical tape around stem and worked for me. Stressing that you should start on opposite side of vice grips to start getting tire on important. Love it, now feel like a pro! My tractor is up and cutting

Yea, a tube is the way to go, At only 14 psi it is very difficult to keep air in the tire. A passenger car with 30 to 40 psi has no problem sealing the bead. Thanks for the kind words.
That tool you said to use to keep the stem from falling in will do that, but it's actually for installing and removing tubeless stems by screwing it on the stem and prying against the rim. You might not even have to cut the inside end of the tubeless stem off to pull it out.
Yes, you are exactly correct. I have a tire machine and I use it for that purpose. However, it does indeed come in handy for what you saw in the video. Wow, I am not sure how to respond to this. I don't stage the videos on my channel. The only reason I chose one of the front tires is because that was the one that was actually leaking. The tire was far from new as it had been on my tractor for several seasons. I am now in my 6th season with this tractor and to date neither rear tire has had a leak. I have only added air once this season and we are in late August at the time of this writing. Rest assured friend should the need actually arise I will indeed post a video. Notice the blue stripe around the inner tube? Most tubes these days have this blue stripe around one side, and that tells you the valve stem is on that side. Of course, partially inflating the tube works too! Thanks for the video, it was helpful.
i remembered had this problem on my John Deere X350 loosing air as i put in lots of rim sealer and it held air still does. as was close to putting in inner tubes in both front tires. most home improvement stores sell this Arnold 15 x6-6 universal lawn tractor front tire the plastic bushings suck in them. 15x6-6 is a common tire these consumer lawn tractors and dump cart has.
The problem with a lawn tractor is they only require very little tire pressure. My tractor takes 14 psi in the front and only 10 psi in the back. It makes it very difficult to maintain a seal. My tractor is only 3 seasons old going on 4. I have already had to install 2 inner tubes and I am sure the two remaining tires will be needing tubes soon.

I am very sorry I have taken so long to reply as I spent some time in the hospital this past week. The spoons are exactly 10 inches long and came in a set of four. However, I do not remember where I purchased them, but I do remember they were not very expensive.
LOL, I had to watch the video again to see what you were talking about. I wasn't putting a lot of force, and the knife was inside the rim so I don't believe the knife could have gotten to me anyway. However that is good advice.
The stem guide. Drill a hole in a screw on valve cap and you're good to go. Use a strong piece of cord, wire, etc... Whichever you have around. It's not as good but it works.
Just take the numbers off the tire itself. Last time I purchased a tube it was from Amazon; I simply entered the tire numbers in the search window and the correct tube popped up. Usually there will be a white or grey ring on one side of the tube. This will be the side that needs to be face up when inserting the tube so the stem will correctly line up with the hole in the rim. OR... I drill two 1/2” holes on the sidewall on the backside 180⁰ apart or just opposing. Then; put foam spray in one hole until it comes out the other; spin the crap out of it and keep getting as much in as you can. A rubber mallet and whopping the crap out of it helps or while it’s jacked up... let it down until it squeezes some out an it will create a vacuum when your jacking it back up and expose air pockets. Never change or repair a tire again. Thank you and I hope I passed the audition.

Yea, my local power equipment company had a 6-to-8-week back log last time I needed a warranty repair. I told them never mind I would take care of it myself and was then informed that that could void the remainder of the warrenty. I said screw you and the warranty.
At 11 minutes is where I somehow punctured the inner tube, and the whole process, and money wasted. I have the exact same tools for that he used. But it is also a waste if you don't inspect the inside of the tire for pointy objects that will puncture the new tube, before putting it all together.
The video was intended to cover tires that are leaking around the rim. If you are repairing a tire that had been punctured by a sharp object, common sense would dictate that you make certain the object was no longer protruding through the tire. duh!
I am beginning to figure that out, I paid a lot of money for my machine, I am contently repairing something. In almost every case a part that is made out of plastic that should have been metal has worn out. Just this week I had to order the throttle cable assembly. The steel cable wore thru the plastic connection point of the throttle lever. Previously a flat spot developed in one of the plastic drive pullys.that I had to replace.

Could use vise grips to hold the stem from falling back into the rim.
I think that might damage it. One of my viewers suggested putting the plastic cap back on to prevent it from falling thru.

Where did you get the tube from
As I recall I got it from the Tractor Supply Store. Make sure you get one with a strait stem.

Why take the chance on putting vice grip teeth marks on the inside of the rim? Please use a rag or some other way to cushion the pliers.

Cub Cadet is a horrible company. I'm done buying them. MTD takes shortcuts in building its machines. Terrible company MTD.
