In a nutshell, before this role I was an entrepreneur for 3 years, based in Paris, and a management consultant at McKinsey, based in Moscow, for another 3 years before that

Salaries please!! If strategy manager is a very rare role that you only get after McKinsey, hopefully it pays well?

I can't complain :) As for these roles companies hire from McKinsey, BCG, Bain etc., they know how much their ideal candidates are getting paid today and so they have to offer more to compel them to move! Look at websites like glassdoor dot com to get a clearer idea.
