So cool to see these 2 Earthlings with Vedder!! Watt is a rippling🎸player & Chad is a F’in absolute Beast!! Watt produced the Eddie & The Earthlings album & I’m siked to hear he’s going to be producing the next PJ album..I think he’ll be the freshness they need 🤘
I love that: "it doesn't have to go back." I'm not a musical guru but I feel Stairway to Heaven rewrote so many music "rules" that a song like this doesn't adhere to the "going back" riff at the beginning.
A master guitarist? I think not. Master producer? When you have The Stones, Ozzy, Iggy Pop as the artists then anyone will sound like a master “producing” them. He’s a good guitarist but a master he is not.
Music production is like the kitchen in a restaurant at times, because often the product/idea has to get out as good, maybe fast and especially as easy as possible - so that you don‘t burn or ruin anything, because of big interferences. The workflow has to be consistent for the products to shine. If you work like that every day, you keep the communication to the absolute key elements, I believe. Therefore the tone might sound or may be rough, but in reality, there‘s no offense meant. I‘m sure that at the end of the day, everyone‘s fine and appreciates one another. Although a „thank you“ here and there won‘t hurt anyone. But - like you said - it‘s a promotional video and we don‘t know them personally.
I had the acoustasonic for a few weeks. Loved the idea of it. But ended up returning it. You need to charge it by USB to even play it through an amp. Very over hyped piece of gear. IMO

As a guitarist I would say this dude needs to learn alternate picking he is way to tense and watching him stresses me out..crank that chorusy shit down you can barley hear the chord changes ..it’s not bad it sounds a bit like stp but the amount of people that are blown away by this..blows me away they have seen nothing this is basic shit but he acts like he’s on a high horse ..oh well he’s happy 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve been searching for a comment like this. Absolutely nothing special transpired in this video and he does appear to be a pretty weak guitarist as far as technique and chord selection go.
Special thanks to Will Ferrell for his guest appearance. Always a lot of fun when will stops by the studio. Fucking terrible at playing the drums though......😜
I believe he's switching in between an emin power chord and dmin power chord on the 5 and 4 string and the other strings are just open, sounds really cool :)
Definitely, he keeps stacking parts and parts and at the end it just sounds like a random guitar solo with a bunch of fuzz on it. The first half of the video was cool though.
He’s moved on to making crazy money producing pop artists like Miley and Bieber, with the occasional rock act like Ozzy thrown in...he’s a true talent, rock guy who knows how to stay alive in modern music...would love to see another California Breed album though.
@@jeremydean6320 The music he makes now is far more sophisticated to make. I'd imagine it's more enjoyable to him than just playing the same old classic rock shit over and over.
@@jeremydean6320 First of all, I've been a guitarist/drummer since age 7, so hardly a 'non musician'. Not that being a 'musician' in a traditional sense is at all relevant in this argument anyway, since musical instruments are only tools and don't determine anything someone's musical background, especially now. Anyone can learn an instrument or music theory but the actual creation is a totally different thing. A totally different mindset. It just happens that over the past few 100 years musical instruments have been the only way in which to create. Note that the beatles were never the best musicians. Nor were the Rolling Stones. But they wrote/produced like most 'technically skilled' 'trained' musicians never could. Modern music production is significantly more sophisticated (and difficult) than recording a band. Writing the music Andrew watt writes is also incredibly difficult. But since you brought her up. Gaga just happens to be one of the best vocalists of our time. Also a phenomenal piano player. To use your logic she is infact an advanced musician and deserves every bit of her success. I don't know enough about Bieber to comment but his last album was good. Ignorant people like you need to break out of your bubbles and accept that fact that equally as ignorant older folk were around when you were younger, criticising the music and the popular techniques back then. Over the next few decades the majority of people are going to start to appreciate that playing an instrument doesn't make you a better creator of music. A computer is as much a tool as a guitar is a tool. It's the creative mind behind it, not 'how fast can you play?'. Come back when you have anywhere near as much success as any of these artists/producers. You have no clue what really goes into this at either end of the spectrum.
incredible musician, incredible producer, incredible artist, incredible person.

I like how Andrew look for Chad approval like the way he looks at him during the bass part. The level of respect.
Huge fan of Andrew Watt….Incredible and so much talent
This is pure magic. I love seeing and hearing this whole process.
Andrews workflow is really interesting to watch
hmmm
What a badass honest genuine unique musician Andrew watt is. Chad smith as always as well
Can't wait to hear what Watt does for The Stones on their new album!!!
Chad is THE BEST!
So far has done a great job on Eddie Vedder's 3 singles that have been released
I love that: "it doesn't have to go back."

C’est si beau . Si raffiné. Tellement humble. Et quelle créativité .subjuguée nous sommes !
Will Farrel is so legit on the drums.
You should hear him rock out with the cowbell bro…😂
I'm waiting for that song to come out. Damn
This Andrew guy is a magician
We are so fortunate to experience this mind blowing talent in our lifetime.
That engineer is working his butt off…
Started out Tom Petty vibes then STP - so much fun.
Damn Engineers really just get bitched at all day huh 😂
Finally a review for real songwriters.
I love watt he’s an amazing producer
This dude is a mad Genius!
Andrew Watt is F@#$ing awesome!!🤘
Seems like being his Engineer would be a stressful job...
Watt: "Play us out of that thing so I can feel it"
Engineer sweats*

Just needs Jack Black on vocals
Very cool look at the recording process.
been waiting for this my whole life
That freakin bass line ! Great song
Chad is amazing to work with!!!!
I'm blown away..
Lots of talent in that room!
Talent with all that fun hard work! He makes all the hard work look like nothing and created a work of art all in 1/2 hr..
I wish there were a companion video that showed what the engineer was doing as well.
This is soooo awesome... And Andrew i so awesome ❤️
This def sounds like something he would be making for posty!! And I’m digging it if it is!! 🔥
waiting for Zombie by The Cranberries to kick in.
When he first started, I thought for sure they were going to play "Zombie"

Song title: Napoleon Complex
Time is money, gotta have a point guard
It’s just a promotional video, but regardless I think how he speaks to the sound engineer is demeaning and priggish. It’s a jam hardly a magnum opus.

Should have brought Flea in for the bass. That opening fast riff sounds like him anyway lol

Indeed
this is so sick
Anyone know what that intro song is? Love it.
Might produce the next Pearl Jam album

Am I the only one who hears “Desecration Smile”?
P
No. Me too
I was convinced they were rehearsing it when the video started.
Such a great video, sounds like an old California Breed !
Its good to see how you do it. I enjoyed it.
lOVE the process, this is dope.
This was dope
Andrew is fookin cool!
My respects to Chad! Both great job!!! 👏🏽🔥

This dude crazy
I just can’t stop seeing Will Ferrell 🤣
Pazzi scatenati! Questo si che si chiama divertirsi, questo pezzo è infuocato come l'attacco del brano Around the world! Grandioso!
This will be nicer
I can't believe Andrew destroyed a beautiful acoustasonic jazzmaster by throwing it on the ground but I was surprised by the shredding at the end
destroyed? You'd have to do much worse than that to get to "destroyed" lol!
@@apstech4618 you're right
Hey Man, Does he have acoustic or electric stings on that acoustasonic???
I can do this shit...all I need is a sound engineer 😁

Hey, Does he have acoustic or electric stings on that acoustasonic???
I fucking love this!!!!
Hope that this song'll apear on the forthcoming Ozzy album! 🦇
This song sounds like Sonic Youth so much, especially towards the end.

Chad really does look like Will Ferrell lol

you simply don't need 10 layers of guitar
Special thanks to Will Ferrell for his guest appearance. Always a lot of fun when will stops by the studio. Fucking terrible at playing the drums though......😜
Damn!
I’d like to hear vocals for that
The guitar sounds like Pearl Jam. Especially the heavy riff.
That poor guitar took a beating 😂

a little bit too fast for the picking hand, isn't it.. xD

Just use your ears
Got thru the first 10 minutes and heard nothing but noise.
