Love how both Saw and Mothma have genuine and solid reasons for their different beliefs
True. Mothma inspires hope while Saw shows radical willpower.
Both ate criminals indeed but on other side,mothma is a naive criminal while saw is cruel one.
And I‘be been thinking about what Ezra was saying about Saw that he fights for freedom of his own terms. Without any politics or something like that.

I like that he uses the official name of the Rebels, the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Most people believe the Rebels call themselves the Rebellion, but rarely mention their official name and what they want.
Yep and I believe the name was also in Legends as well.

"It's how we choose to fight that matters." It's so epic, can't wait to see this one, it's literally getting closer to Rogue One! And whoa!! That intense tension between her and saw is so 😱😱😱. Saw has dark tendency while Mon is the polar opposite. This is gonna be one hell of an episode. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Antonio Reyes you think season 4 is the end. I think ues and disney should risk an old republic tv show with a clone wars maturity and see how long they could make it last.
People don't mind that kind of maturity with the movies, so I don't see why they can't do it for the TV show.
I'm reminded of something Chuck Yeager said, after getting some mission orders; "Man , if we do this, we better WIN" Yes. You have to WIN first before you start wringing your hands over the morality of some things. Maybe not even after. And , let's be serious. The Empire we KNOW of , never mind this cartoon spin, is as evil as it gets. The Death Star wasn't built as a deterrent
The point is to Win the war First and Saw was right. That Naive thinking by Mon Mothma is what got her to make peace the Imperial Remnant instead of getting rid of them once and for all and even if needed go into wild space. Learn from history, the Empire always went into hiding when defeated and then rebuilt its troops and came back to wipe out the Republic. They did the same thing again when the First Order was created and wiped out the New Republic.
As the Great tactician Grand Admiral Thrawn said, "..all that matters is who has Power." Without power(the ability to do things) those ideals that Mon Mothma has means nothing.
@@uhfanzonlyI think the risk is if you become too much like the Empire you will risk fighting a Rebellion yourself. If you don't establish fair governance than you will always deal with rebellious factions.
this is actually a really great scene and moment. The scene gives a deeper understanding of Rogue One Saw, and explains why the Rebels have expelled him. it helps that Whitaker continues doing the voice and is putting spirit in his performance. Especially the "There she is!"
I think Saw Gerrara is one of the gear achievements of the Story Group and Lucasfilm in general. He was originally conceived by George himself for a live action show but they ended up putting him in The Clone Wars since that show never happened. Then, years later they bring him back in a live action film and then show him decent in Rebels. So amazing to see an expanded universe character end up in one of the movies.

Yeah, Mon Mothma is a pretty patient person. But I think me neither would allow someone like Saw Gerrera tell me that I'm like him, because Mon Mothma wasn't any like Saw. Yeah, maybe that also made her look weak sometimes, some of her decissions were wrong, but I would rather prefer to fight alongside a passive agressive politician like Mon Mothma than a renegade extremist like Saw Gerrera.

There's no honour in using a device to win the war for you. I'm assuming that's what was meant by "Not the Mandalorian way". Sabine was gonna use it, but Bo-Katan talked her out of it.
I think he will try to bring it back to life to use it against the Empire but he will lose it to the Imperials and it will be used to empower the Death Star
"How we chose to fight" line already in the 2nd episode of the season? Now I'm so exited for this episode. Also: Saw makes some good points. I would still be on Mon Mothma's side of the conflict, but Saw is right.
I don't agree with the targeting civilians and killing those who surrender though.
@@comicfan8350Me neither. As Mothma said, if they had been lowered to the Empire's level to get the victory, what would have been the point of winning? What would have made them being different from the Empire?
The fact that the closing line was cut out from this clip is terrible, because it really adds a level of gravitas: “I hope, Senator, after you've lost, and the Empire reigns over the galaxy unopposed, you will find some comfort in the knowledge that you fought according to the rules.”

I think this might be among Rebels best acted and scripted scenes ever. That was incredible.

I love the entire show of Rebels as it’s my favorite Star Wars show and Clone Wars being my second favorite.
Not gonna lie. They both make good point. Saw is too extreme while Mon is too passive.
Mothma needed to start acting more like M from 007 and actually start taking REAL ACTION as Saw was trying to tell her!

Saw is saying that at least when it comes to how the Galactic Civil War is playing out, he is able to dish out more punishment to the Empire than the Empire does to them. Mon Mothma is not a real military leader, she is just a politician who is inevitably fighting the sort of battle that has already been lost to her; she just doesn't understand how outclassed she is and how much she overestimates her own forces.
I mean the Alliance at this point is acting like the war hasn't started. I respect Mon Mothma but I'd definitely join Saw in this war

Both the exact opposite to the extreme. Mothma is expecting the best of her enemies - when we've seen time and time again that the Empire's leaders are more focused in making people to scared to stand up to them, rather than make them want to be governed by them. As Saw plays on the exact same terror tactics like the Empire does - he even murdered Rebel sympathizers in some of his attacks too.
I guess that stuff he gotten is making him TOTALLY INSANE!!!

I repeat what I posted on the Season 4 preview. Mon Mothma may want to seek a peaceful means of stopping the Empire and want to wait until they're ready to fight. Unfortunately, there's going to come a point where she and everyone else realizes they no longer have the luxury of waiting until they're ready to fight. That came in Rogue One when the Death Star made its grand debut. The Empire went past the point of no return at that moment. Any chance of winning the war peacefully in the Senate ended then. She may have realized it then, but most of the leadership weren't ready or willing to commit to the fight. Even if they voted not to go forth, Jyn and her group forced the issue and forced them to fight. I think Saw would have approved of what Jyn and the others had done. Ezra called it when he said in the preview that most of those in the Rebellion don't believe the war has begun when in fact the Empire's been winning all along. That's one thing he and Saw would agree on completely.
What bugged me about Bail Organa in Rogue One was that he's the one person there who knows about the Sith! The one person there who already knows there's no hope of peaceful coexistence with the Empire as long as the Sith control the Empire!
He knew, but he couldn't say anything to anyone about it. If he had, he would have revealed too many secrets - Obi-Wan and Yoda being alive and in hiding, Darth Vader having once been Anakin Skywalker, Luke and Leia being his children - which would have had a negative impact on their credibility. Look at what happened to Leia when her parentage was revealed in Bloodlines novel. Something like that could have happened.
I know he wasn't going to say anything about it, my point is that he says "I must return to Alderaan to inform my people there will be no peace," when in fact, HE privately already knew that.

Saw can fight on Empire's level because he bought a load of lootboxes and runs around with gold level skill cards

I love how saw uses the formal title of the Rebel Alliance: The Alliance to Restore the Republic
And here we learn how Saw Gerrera’s Partisans broke off with the Rebel Alliance as mentioned in Rogue One.
I don't know who's side should the Ghost Crew be on cause:
-Saw's Cell "The Partisans" are very brave and really hit the Empire but they make civilians die too
-Mon Mothma is more on the "peace side", she tryes to make things in a peacefull way but she doesn't really succed...I like that she still has hope and tries to restore the Republic but she is not into fighting the Empire Open-War...
A combination between those two characters would be perfect...
I also like that Disney has shown us (the viewers) more Rebel Squadrons and Cells, not just the main Ghost Crew-Phoenix Squadron...What I like even more is that even if they are all Rebels, they still aren't "friends"
Not sure if he counts now he is on the rebals but Kallus would be on Mon Mothma's side he has shown he doesn't like to take lives and as very haunted during the Lasat genocide plus I doubt he is willing to side with Saw considering he has a personal reason to hate him
If you've seen Rogue One, then you'll know that Saw's rebels are basically the Star Wars version of ISIS, brutal terrorists who use fear and violence to achieve their ends. The Ghost crew aren't terrorists, so they're going to side with Mon Mothma.
Furious Sherman I have more to add, Islam doesn't want war and has rules of being a peaceful religion and never kill people for no reason or else go to hell when you die, stuff like that, I'm not Muslim myself but I learnt those stuff, just like Saw, Isis ruins the reputation of the religion / affiliation
+Furious Sherman The city Saw Gerrera comes from on Onderon is called Iziz, I believe. I'm positive it means nothing whatsoever, but I've always thought that name felt off.
The city is called Jedha, but it, the environment, and the circumstances surrounding it can be found in several cities in the Middle East.
Just love scenes like this. It shows me how invested I am in these characters that I care so much about. Well done Star Wars Rebels, Clone Wars and Rogue One!

me, specially with every season an influence, the first season it's the Grand Inquisitor, second season it was Vader and his Inquisitor gang, season 3 it was Darth Maul and Thrawn threatening him, season 4 it's Saw Gerrera, the final once and for all fall of Ezra, Vader might have him captured, then Ezra becomes the new canon Starkiller and traps Kanan in the factory on Lothal and then Vader comes to fight Kanan who defeats Ezra, the factory is starting to explode by Zeb's implanted bombs, during the fight, Ezra's senses come back cuz he was brainwashed to serve Vader, not his own fall, Ezra and Kanan fight Vader, Imperial reinforcements arrive to remove the bombs, Ezra and Kanan give Zeb permission to plant the bombs as Ezra and Kanan try to trap Vader in and prevent him from tracking down the Rebels, Zeb continues to blow up the bombs and tells Hera to escape or the entire Rebellion is in danger, Zeb dies as well in the process, Sabine would be either dead sacrificing herself for Mandalore, or Bo Katan dies and Sabine takes the darksaber
Robo_Destroyer / Darth Troller I know Filoni said it’s not going to happen, but I just want ONE scene with Palpatine, Vader, Thrawn, Tarkin and Krennic ALL in the one room.
Coming back to this scene after Andor is really something. I hope we can see buildup to this confrontation there
Mon Mothma's appearance in Season 3 and 4 of Rebels take place in the later middle part of Andor Season 2... would be interesting to see how they portray her character in Andor. Apparently EVERYBODY knew Ezra's message in Season 1 where it almost became common knowledge, uniting the Rebel cells was actually depicted in Season 3, and the Battle of Atollon catastrophe with Mon Mothma denying aid, and of course her spending more time at Yavin... it would not be possible nor plausible to not reference any of these events in some way in Andor Season 2 while still portraying Mon Mothma's life.

Sure, but even once Mothma actually gets the resources and capability she and many others toiled so hard for, she demilitarizes down to 10% and created a system that enabled the FO to rise up. I wanna spit in her face, every time I see her on this show with that starry-eyed idealism.
Fun fact: Saw Gererra & Mon Mothma are both voiced by the same actors who portray them in Rogue One.
Ya know Mon Mothma STILL doesn't understand about what she's up against here! She is being WEAK right now, there IS no peaceful solution to the conflict with the Empire! I guess the time when she becomes STRONG & FINALLY learns that is after the events of A NEW HOPE! Also I've seen her being strong & willing to fight in the SW COMICS that take place after THAT!

When I saw this on youtube, I clicked so fast.
This question of how much violence is necessary to achieve freedom is a regular one, for as long as dictatorships exist, the call for freedom will ring true, and as with any faction, some elements will be more extreme than others.
If we degrade ourselves to the level of our foes, what will we become?
Arguably, monsters, but at least we will leave a better home for our children.
If this clip is any indication, this episode could be one of the best ever for Rebels. Fantastic. Love it!

Saw Gererra is right to fight the Empire at any cost! A true rebel leader!
I like how they explore the widening of the rift between the main rebellion and Saws partisans. I don't think we'll see the battle of Scarif in Rebels but a lot of pieces leading up to it will be all over the final season. It is going to be interesting on how they are going to show us the fate of Kannan and Ezra. This will tell me how strong of a story teller Filloni is.

Say what you want about rebels but when it gets good it’s easily up there with clone wars, andor and mandalorian. This scene itself like something straight out of andor or clone wars.

My theories on what happens to the Rebels characters:
Kanan dies.
Ezra loses connection to the force from some form of trauma (Like Meetra Surik when she activated the Mass Shadow Generator on Malachor V) and is DJ from The Last Jedi.
Hera becomes an Admiral in the NR/Resistance, Chopper is still with her.
Zeb dies.
Rex goes on to fight until shortly after Endor.
Sabine either dies and her art is used by the Rebellion/NR/Resistance as morale art, or she becomes an artist after the war.
Kallus becomes a spymaster for the New Republic.

In the second part of this episode, Hera and Kanan wonder whether the Empire can "weaponize" kyber crystals. They're familiar with lightsabers, aren't they? This is like asking whether gunpowder can be weaponized.

God this is just 100 steps ahead of the new films and it's animated. Everything is so well done, the voice acting is perfect and the story arcs are so incredibly well made.

Good dialog here. So what was up with the last 2 episodes where they we just going through the motions of dialog without actually saying anything.
The first 2 episodes of season 4 were actually terrible. I say this as a fan hoping for improvement. I want to see more of the rebels we love.
