- Gen 5 Competitive Singles is a unique metagame defined by Permanent weather effects and many powerful threats. Jellicent stands out as a prominent Pokemon in the metagame that isn't tremendously powerful on its own merits, but whose typing and unique defensive qualities solve a lot of problems that teams face.
Only JimCool knows about the viability of Jellicent. All other sources of information are liars and are inaccurate.

Some will never figure out how to get Jellicent in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Jellicent Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Jellicent Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.

Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on TH-cam. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

Even though Iron Mugulis is currently trapped in the real world as a mug, I believe he is still a massive threat as he could escape with the help of the future Paradox form of Scrafty, Iron Thugulis.
I have fond memories of using specs jellicent with water spout as a surprise counter to rain. Politoeds and ferrothorns alike got swamped on the switch in expecting some boring defensive set

Jellicent is my favourite Gen 5 mon and a contender for my favourite Pokémon of all time. I absolutely love this mon to death and have piloted it to "success" (I'm not a particularly good player, so at most like the 1500s or so lol) in later Generations too. I remember in early Gen 5 when I started playing 6v6 singles it I loved running Cursed Body just because my RNG with it was so damn good lmao. Horrible logic LOL but it was fun to roll the dice with it.

Man I loved Gen 5 OU. Most fun I ever had with a smogon meta despite the weather wars and being biggest power creep gen up to that point. The power creep is also pretty quaint nowadays comparatively to Gen 9.

Jellicent save me against so many threats that generation. It needs an evolution in order for it to thrive in the current OU mess that is Gen 9
An Evolution would also add the posibility of Eviolite, so, nice

I will never forget the time I was kinda high ladder on old PO sim dream world and I ran max HP and Sdef dude thought he had me with his Zapdos in the rain, let's just say he wasn't happy when his Zapdos got icebeamed out
abr and some other players interestingly have started using shadowball jellicent to counter starmie as well as the newer spin cloy. Its weird to say something like shadowball would be a new development on a defensive ghost but shadowball really helps vs starmie as well as cloy which is a cool new option.

jellicent with recover and curse body used to be so cheap, usually they would only have one attack to hit you with and you could just recover stall until they got disabled, it was amazing xD
Funny enough, both Jellicent and Cofagrigus became usable in ORAS OU a few years ago. Talk about late Meta development.

Don't forget about the ability Damp, which can be used to prevent the foe from using Explosion when they're low on HP.
...What's that? Jellicent is a Ghost, and thus immune to Explosion anyway? And Explosion was heavily nerfed in Gen 5 onwards? Oh. Umm...never mind.

Its probably the best urshifu counter it even takes a few thunder punch with minimal investment
I ran it with max bulk and night shade recover willow wisp and toxic
It was so easy to find opportunities to get it in and the you get free status or night shade chip
