    Yep I did the whole front end too . Even the radius arm ball joints ( took nearly 15 ton of pressure to push them out of the stub axle : tip ! Remove the rubber boot before pressing back in so u don’t destroy them !).
    Also had to do the rear end ( tow control mainly ) with the extra power after the turbo . Drives beautiful now !
    Don forgot wheel alignment too after the parts are all in . Cheers .

      Great advice!.😁for the radius arm I will probably go the drop in replacement arm pretty easy install from I hear 👌

    yea same in BA BF the lower ball joints are under tension not compression which wears them out. genuine is usually the way to go the cheapy ebay ones dont last too long

    The front spring set up is quite easy to pull out for future reference though for reference the 3rd strut top bolt under the computer is the hardest part if you can jack up high enough and unclip your brake line with a flat head ,so 4 nuts a flathead and low socket or ratchet 🔧 for the strut top

      I have done the whole front suspension and relatively everything bar the shock replacement is simple one way or another

    Half way through giving my cheap hand-me-down $4k '11 SY2 2WD Limited Edition a birthday. She's pretty clean but got some miles (330k) but otherwise a full service history. Done engine and trans lube last weekend, done rear shocks and one front shock done today (the other shock arrived damaged dammit).
    As I done the front shocks, removing upper control arms from the brace was easy. Bought a hydraulic press so I pressed new UBJ's myself.
    Rears were piece of piss!
    Once the other front shock arrives in the next day or two, will see what is still knocking. Shocks weren't leaking, but definitely done as they weren't rebounding after compressing them.

    If the Allen key strips just grab the sway from behind and pull toward front or rear bolt will snag on an angle and the nut will rattle gun of easy as wasn’t till I seen this video I realised they have a Allen key fitting hence my knowledge

    Be careful with the ebay upper control arm's. I had the ball joint completely pop out as I was driving. It wasn't pressed in properly. Was lucky enough to only be going slow but after that I wasn't willing to risk it. Paid the bit extra for Whiteline stuff.

    A lot of it is just fear spread online about the lower control arm ball joints failing. They fail about as much as any car. Jack the car check for play every 6 months. Dont ignore weird noises..

    Oh the other thing that ford did bad was the btr box . I just installed a built turbo box in mine 2200 stally . Think I’ve said it before. But needs to turn in the s5 solenoid in at least a turn so it shifts firm for them to survive anything 350 rwhp . Also helps pulling of the valve buddy and checking the shims adjustment for the 1-2 shift . I’m no auto mechanic but for me it was the band closest to the converter .

    • @RossHollandAU
      @RossHollandAU  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a low km btr with 2500 high stall, upgraded flex plate ,waiting to go in, possibly a shift kit but i have the ability to tune the box if so need :) also has the trans cooler 👌 but thanks dude I'm always open to learning from others 😎

    • @slikoh2305
      @slikoh2305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have an SY Territory , bought it brand new in 2006, problem after problem from the first day things have been going wrong, yes particularly suspension and bushings and also all the switches including headlight/wiber combination switch, power window switch ignition switch you name it, bloody bad engineering!!! I still have the car because it's very comfortable to drive and it has done 200000km.

  • @theranga3364

    Whats your opinion on driving a car with no proper tune yet? Im planning to turbo my na g6e, so ill be running a manual boost controller for the start to set the boost to low, then will be taking to dark horse probably about a week later. If i drive without building boost, putting in 4 bar fuel reg, but not planning to put map sensor in until tune day. Will be stock injectors.

    • @RossHollandAU
