Does the xr8 come factory supercharged because I cannot find any information on it?

If ya engine is caked dont put it in the oil filter has a bypass if it gets clogged . Plus if it has vvt phasers they rely on clean oil ,but in most cars have a little screen filter before the phasers. Pray to God literally . If its bad ya have to take the rocker covers of and look and check the pcv valve . And screen pick up in sump and if the filter gets bypassed it could wreck the crank to rod bearing clearances score the oil pump. when caked it s got a gritty type texture i have worked on Toyota's and they are the worsed for it One that bad it was a hard shell over the cams and i cracked it of in 5mm thick pieces. It was used for short trips that the oil never got hot. Plus i reakon there mechanic might of been doing a shifty with real low quality oil or not doing it . .

why not do a sump service.. guaranteed better results then

I used this very brand ages ago on my 1980 V8 Chrysler with 250,xxx kilometres on it! I can honestly say I didn’t notice any difference but surely it’s done something? The old girl still runs perfectly with an oil change once a year as it barely gets driven being just a club car.

That Morey’s should NOT be put in an engine, a diff maybe.

Liquimoly make some absolutely fantastic additives. I've always used the flush every 2nd service mated with diesil equivalent oil. I've also found there fuel system cleaner to be amazing as well especially when used 1 tank prior to changing the fuel filter. 👌

When i had my GT500 powered BF2 XR8, i wpuld do a oil flush every 3rd oil change (always changed oil at 5,000km, as it sat around when i was FIFO). Every 3rd flush was also a Diesel oil, as it has more detergents for sludge, carbon build up etc. Did 100,000km before we tore it down to go faster; bearings, heads- everything looked brand new, with just that gold stain from oil.

As an L98 LS owner, I fully respect the reliability of the Ford Modular V8, a great engine! I used to own a 220kw 3v Fairmont, and it was a great engine. Although I ended up killing the rings due to low oil (and stupidity on my part). That being said, it went 260,000km and probably would have gone a lot longer had I kept it. Anyway, it's a great video and a very nice example of an XR8, bringing me down memory lane 😁. Good luck with future mods, and how can I not sub to a fellow west aussie. Cheers.

my xr8s at 265k inside of the motor is probably just as bad as yours haha my car is real rough bit of body damage up the passo side but i only paid 7k for it so cant complain to much just gotta treat it well and see how long she goes edit: any plans for diff gears or a shift kit in this car? love the vids im in wa also

Impressive to even have results evident in the rocker cover considering it's relatively minimal for oil movement .. and I've always had a soft spot for Morey's since the retail store demo unit with the oil between the test gears and it sticking . If you know you know 😂

Do you happen to know what is in the engine flush? Just wondering it obviousy works well and has heavy detergents. Just wonder if it would also strip the zinc layer that you want on old v8s?

Engine Oil Flush from all brands work. But Sludge can be moved from one part of the engine to the other. That's why alot of garages don't do engine oil flush as sludge can be moved to another part of the engine that can cause engine failure. When doing engine oil flush drain out all the old oil and oil filter then put in new oil, new oil filter , start the car for 1 minute then pour in engine oil flush.

Liqui Moly have some good products especially the oil usually get what ya pay for!

Im thinming off putting the stock air box there and try and make a hole and run thr cold side piping though that and spray paint me intercooler haha aill be good bur hay ehsts with the option off getting that hole tigged up i got mine and its not tigged whats suppose to go in there ?

The 5.4 engine is junk to many camshafts, too many moving parts and they don’t even like boost.. The red top Barra is where it’s at for fords 😂
