There was a huge colony living in the wall on the upper floor of my grandparents' house. After my grandfather died no one lived there, many years later the house was to be torn down, the bees were thankfully removed also. I am glad to see this done to keep great hives alive and continuing to thrive.
That is so heartwarming ❤ I don't know what happened in the next 2 years, but I really hope you allowed the colony to split and gave the split to those homeowners. Imagine them being able to continue having resident bee descents of the ones Grandpa allowed to live there!

It is incredible how a hive can thrive for twenty-five years without humans bothering them regularly. No disease. No mites. Just a healthy hive. One of the first issues that beekeepers are made aware of is the mite problem. Yet this hive didn't seem to have one. And it didn't do a colony collapse. Makes you wonder what humans did NOT introduce to the bees by ignoring them for so many years.

wonderful story. Question. How long was it before you replaced that old black comb? I have learned to replace comb after 5 years because the cells get small due to the cocoon left behind from bees hatching. Do you do the same?
I know it’s important to put comb in frames like it was hanging but it looked like u were putting it in wrong did it matter ? Did they hatch all right ?
I thing I notice about wild hives is that they don't have mites, moth or beetle problems compare to those hives that is kept be bee keepers. Wonder why is that so?
I mean... if they've loved there continuously for 25 years, and haven't died out... that's much better than managed colony statistics. So is removing them actually "for the bees"? I understand the house will likely be torn down. But it's sad when I see videos of cutouts and "abandoned hives" that are "saved". Because statistically, they'll be dead in less than 3 years after having survived for many without "help".

Wow that was the biggest bee hive i ever seen, at first i thaught it's gonna be very agressive colony, but that was very calm and smooth. AMAIZING!

were those natural bees not cultivated. they are on a small size like in the west they are smaller in size.
