Great video. I appreciate you putting it up. We will be doing our first cutout from a wood pallet they have colonized soon and this was very helpful. We will be putting them in a top bar hive though. Also, thanks for having the right priorities and finding the queen rather than worrying about videoing more. Protecting these awesome creatures is far more important in my opinion. Kudos to you!
Oh i know they wont because they would die i just imagined that i myself would twang the band and send them into a swarm lol, Ive never seen that technique
When the bees get upset/angry they release an alarm pheromone to alert the other bees of an intruder. The smoke covers up this pheromone and in turn helps stop the bees from attacking you. If you haven't handled bees before I would suggest you get some help from someone with experience.
Been watching a couple videos on bee removal for my mothers house and I notice the gas that everyone is using. Does that stop the bees from stinging and should I use it for removing a hive?
Why did you shake the bees off into the hive box when they were grouped together like that? If you see them do that the likelihood is really good that your queen is somewhere in the middle of that ball. Dropping her could hurt her, so next time... Use your hand and sift through the bees if you want to put her in a cage for transport.

how you didn't get stung is beyond me elastic band twang across a few bees and its GGWP
+Martin O'Malley Unless the bees are very angry or you're rough with them they wont sting. Just a matter of treating them right.
