There are two distinct looks for each member, one is EXO and the other is X-EXO. EXO has a huge storyline starting from their pre-debut releases. EXO are supposed to be aliens from the EXOplanet, and yes they do have superpowers, but that isn't the theme for this video. It's just slightly referenced here.
Also I think its important to know the song's meaning is sort of a love/hate letter to their obsessive sasaeng fans. The X-EXO concept is based off of the idea that these types of fans can darken EXO

I really love this! I'm a multi stan but my main fandom is EXO. Just sharing this, but I'm an EXO stan since 2013, I'm one of those who knew them for a really long time. And they all really have amazing vocals. Even their rappers are really skilled. When you said that they have ripped bodies, I suddenly remember those times when they were still really skinny, like REALLY skinny. Some of them were not that good in dancing back then. Fun fact: when Changeol started on the ground (the drop) he’s the only member who was able to do it without pain. Everyone else said it hurt too much. He’ll even hold it for 30+ seconds for the stages and filming.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't say exo are really known for their dance skills. Maybe choreo yes, but they are mostly known for their insanely good vocals. Kai is of course incredible but as a whole group I would say they are good but not great. I think their performance, vocals, and dance all together make them one of the best (if not #1) out there though.
Pls be gentle, I'm not trying to hate lol I have stanned them for a very long time. Legends and innovators in the industry for sure.
I agree with your points! Kai is one of the best dancers in kpop but as a whole group, their dance don't seem as tight as other groups.
i think exo is unique in every aspect. vocals: all members voices are so unique and distinctive, rapping: Sehun & Chanyeol are so different from each other, dancing: literally every single member has their own really special dancing style (that‘s why it‘s not as in sync as with other groups) but that‘s what makes exo special. i rather watch their dance practices then from others where it‘s really sharp and clean, idk
I get it what you mean cause i have the same think with you. You can say im a hard exo fan but i gotta be honest that they are not the best in term of dancing but kai absolutely is one of the best in kpop. Also i personally think because of most of their song are r&b based so they mostly don't really go with the hard hard choreo like hiphop based group did, i've told jeff about this before. And that's all fine for me, i can understand and totally accept that, because it doesn't mean that they aren't great performers, off course they are, undeniable. Anyways their vocals are the main reason i'm fallin for them. It's just stupidly amazing that i can't find in any other groups. And I would be happier if there are non-fans who take the chance to get to know them because of their vocal skills, because it's worthed.
They still have iconic choreo tho, that deeply influenced kpop boy groups, so I wouldn’t say dance isn’t a big part of what they are as a group !

SM group always have strongest main vocal line and every member have their own vocal colour. From TVXQ ( Xiah Junsu & Jaejoong) , Super Junior ( KRY) , Shinee (Jonghyun, Onew, Taemin), SNSD (TTS), f(x) Luna, EXO (Chen, DO, Baekhyun, Suho) Red Velvet (Wendy) and NCT (JaeIlYong,Heechan, chenle, kun, xiojun, renjun)... and they have great kain dancer in every group U-Know Yunho, Eunhyuk, Taemin, Hyoyeon, Kai, Seulgi, Taeyong, Ten

I like how Jeff made the assumption Chen did his high note because he probably did. He has really good control of his voice and has been doing the high notes for the group for a while to the point he confessed his throat would hurt sometimes from doing them.

Maybe Chen really did the high notes while filming the MV I'm not sure here but he does it in his solo MVs he said that he likes to sing live to deliver his full emotions so maybe he was really singing here too
The guy that Kai was dancing with was Sehun, he really is a great dancer and Kai said he loves to dance with Sehun cause Sehun is a great dancer. Also Baekhyun the guy with white hair in the music video he is in Super M he is the leader and he is also a vocalist a very good one like Chen the one you said that change from falsetto to head voice they are both great vocalits. Even Suho the one with the ripped abs HAHAHA actually Suho has been maintaining those abs for years, he is the leader of EXO and has great voice as well. So lucky that SM handles then cause its been years as I have been an EXO-L and proud of my boys!!

11:30 the theme is actually more similar to super villain. they're fighting "themselves" (their dopplegangers) as a representation of saesangs (essentially crazy fans) throughout the video. it's meant to represent the saesangs obsession with them. at least that's how I understood the concept from what's been released about it

I literally became a EXO-L just two week ago and had knew nothing about Kpop. I wish I'd have known them earlier. Check out their live performances and I bet you would be obsessed and wonder if they are even human beings. EXO is just amazing and SM should keep the team running.
PLEASE REACT TO A.C.E. they’re a group under beat interactive. They are one of the most underrated talented groups that I know of. Watch their dance practices along with their mv’s. They also do dance covers of other groups and song covers of english songs. They did pre-debut busking and one of my favorite is their zombie choreography. They had choreographed it themselves. 💜

Oh my God!!! Thank you for this reaction! As a non-dancer, I really love learning one or two things about dancing by listening to people who are good at it. Your reaction is so much appreciated! I like the way that you are very respectful yet honest about your opinion. It's something I don't find often with a lot of other people doing reactions.
Honestly, EXO made a debut in an era where no groups had super hard choreo (exception being SHINee, imo) and the first time I watched their debut showcase back in 2012, I was instantly sold because they did everything super well. Their hard dance and very R&B approach to singing were also very new among K-Pop groups.
Now I'm not gonna say that they as a group are the best dancers in or outside the industry (with Kai and Lay as HUGE exceptions) especially with NCT or Seventeen around, but they still have some of the most satisfying and iconic choreos. Do check out their Monster and Blooming Day dance practice.
Also, Chen is my bias because.... vocals lol. I tend to only stan groups with very good vocals and more R&B and Funk music genre, so yes, EXO is my top group in K-Pop 😂 Do check out some of their vocal performances! They have a lot of iconic ones 😀

Welcome to EXO, well they are more on vocalist side than dance as a group tbh. Many are amazed by their vocals! Individually they are kinda have specialty and they are recognized for that, for example Kai for dance. But still they work really well together tho.

at 4:50 the other member is Oh Sehun, who is the maknae of the group (and their other rapper, along with Park Chanyeol who is the one who pulls himself up in the intro to the choreo), him and Kai are both '94, and Kai has said one of his favorite parts of this choreo is this part, because him and Sehun rarely get to do dance parts together, but he always enjoys it when they do!
also, when watching more exo videos in the future, the number of members changes a lot, for various reasons, and this is basically the smallest you will see the group in their mvs! just as a heads up so you won't be confused as I see in your doc for planned reactions that you will be watching more of their mvs, which will have more members!

When every member took their part, they don't dance. So when chanyeol do that rap part "jigowo ha!!...." He didn't do the dance like the others. It's not like they bad at dancing, it's just because they have to do the part with best result while the others can do the dancing part better than him (who take the voice/sing part). You can pay attention on every performance they had to acknowledge this. It's just how SMe way to represent the good quality of their artist.

exo are unrivalled vocalists in the industry, chen, baekhyun and kyungsoo are incredible
exo is actually good with synchronisation, but most of the time, they don't get the sharp dance routine, they prefer heavier slower tempo dance.
