What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows and Suho controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. You see the planet on fire in the end of the MV because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc. X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story and why they are on Earth, etc. To truly understand EXO you need to understand that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and It is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So to really understand EXO you need to start from the very beginning and watch both of their "Mama" MVs. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one, if not all of them, using their powers. Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. EXO's concept is also connected to real life planetary and solar events, so several of EXO's comebacks and new song releases for the main group of EXO are timed to when eclipses and other planetary phenomenons take place. For example, their comeback for their War album and Power repackaged album coincided with when we had a solar eclipse, etc. SM Entertainment, and its founder, Lee SooMan, has all of EXO's release dates and concepts planned out for years in advance, and it often has something to do with real celestial events that are predicted to take place. Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO- M version focuses on the M members and their powers. However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 of the members. Kris and Luhan left in 2014 and Tao left in 2015.) However, now, because they no longer have enough Chinese members they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members. However, in the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group. So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. Since "Obsession" some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV. Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's "Jopping" storyline. If you remember what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in that MV, those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in "Obsession." Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. So because the members in black are supposed to be the EXO members who are the good guys, it seems to also indicate that the members who are in SuperM are the EXO members and not their X-EXO clones. So it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, EXO has gathered the best of the best of SM's groups to help them battle the Red Force and maybe eventually take down X-EXO. Just like how the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force. Unfortunately,, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is. I thought the same about Kai in SuperM until I saw individual fancams and compared them to group fancams. For example in Super Car you don’t see it in the official videos but if you watch the Kai fancam it’s mind blowing how exact and sharp he dances compared to the others. His body control is crazy and he is VERY concentrated.
I think it depends on the dance style. EXO's choreography is just kind of different from other kpop groups. And in all EXO choreography , Obsession is my favorite and Oh Lalala

EXO got 9 members. One active and do solo promotion in China. He was Lay (the only Chinese member). You can watch his music video "Lit". During this time (2019), 2 members enlistment which are Xiumin & D.O.. It's mandatory for Korean man to enlist for military service. And now both of them officially discharged in December 2020 and January 2021. In the dance practice video was: 1. Suho (leader/vocal) 2. Baekhyun (main vocal) 3. Chen (main vocal) 4. Chanyeol (main rapper/vocal) 5. Kai (main dancer) 6. Sehun (rapper/dancer) Hope in 2021, they will do comeback as 6 or 7 members (perhaps Lay joining too). But this time Suho and Chen was not there due to enlistment for military service.

They are by far the best and most recent, and a huge help. In my opinion Exo's dance style changes with every song, like how you noticed the difference in Monster and Obsession. Yeah, and even in superm, when Kai is in camera, he still catch me all the time because of his shape, his dynamic, his energy. Unfortunately, it always have camera moving even in dancing practice version in superm. But for sure, the dance level of superm is higher. And exo is the best vocal group of kpop. My favorite song in obsession album is Jekyll. The harmony is fascinated.
Hi Radostina.. Indian Exo theory guy here 👏 Basically in this mv EXO were fighting with Xexo(Clone vr. Of exo created by Red Force and Exo lose to Xexo in this mv). In tempo mv exo were shown infront of white walls filled with moving hands underneath. Some says that in tempo mv redforce was creating clones of exo and some says even exo members shown there, were xexo. And real exo was not there.

I think Kai stands out here in Exo because he is the center, where as in SuperM Taeyong or Lucas is their center. Maybe Kai just like to blend in and not over power the younger ones. Well, it's just my opinion, i can be wrong.
Yeah they keep being him in the back in SuperM..... it's super frustrating. Why even have him in the group if he's not able to show his dance/performance skills? Kai is made to be center imo. The way he took over Tiger Inside dance practice even with like two lines and 20 seconds in front just really proves that.

Kai said he doesn't have to dance hard in SuperM as the others are also good. That's why you think he doesn't stand out much. But if you look at individual fancams of SuperM, you can see he dance differently than the rest. He totally stands out. His movements are more precise than the rest. Even other idols commented on it when they saw him dance Tiger Inside. That's why he's idol of idols. He doesn't blend in as you said.

They had no choice on this comeback in terms of numbers because 2 of members at this time had gone for mandatory military service and one is in China at the moment. In Monster all 9 members were present. In Exo the main dancers are Kai, Lay and Sehun is the lead dancer. Although a members are great dancers these three do stand out, just as the main vocalists stand out when singing.
The formations might seem a bit off due to the fact that 2 members were in the military at the time, and the other-due to political conflict between China and South Korea, is unable to participate in the group.
@@RadostinaPetrova well military enlistments are normal-the situation with Lay on the other hand is complicated. Just keep in mind that for their choreo, EXO sometimes leaves the spots open for the members that are not present.

It’s interesting that you mention the 6 member thing because initially EXO was a 12 member group divided in two units so their very very early songs are 6 members songs.

They have adapted those choreographies multiple times after losing some of the members and sometimes schedules overlap won’t allow for everyone to participate in every performance. It’s impressive how adjustable they make their choreos and how they have grown to adapt to it.

EXO is literally the DOPEST grp I have discovered since being a Kpop fan I wish I would have been around since they debuted back in 2012 n 2013 but I came Around 2016 then again in 2018. I will never regret being an EXO-L. I put that in the same Category of regretting being a Beyhive member and I don’t regret neither of those things. EXO have do literally 40+ genres of music I didn’t even KNOW there were 40+ genres of music out there and they have touch just about everyone one of them. My Kpop days feel extremely boring bc EXO is not having a CB and although I love my other grps I just connect better to EXO. At one point I unintentionally unstan all my grps and was just an EXO-L for a good 6-7 months but I came back to my other grps slowly but surely. EXO is an ALL AROUND ACE GRP and nobody can change my opinion on that. Regardless of what ANY Fandom or Solo Stans say EXO have reached the legendary mark and have already left they mark on Kpop. They don’t have NOTHING to prove to ANY FANDOM or new Kpop Stans. Other grps can have the shine now EXO literally owned the Kpop industry from 2013-2018 and have been on Hiatus since after Obsession CB. The members have talked abt how they don’t feel the pressure to be the best any more and just want to focus on music that will make them and their fans happy.

So the guy with Kai that you were asking about is Sehun. He’s one of the main dancers along with Lay. Lay’s currently in China because of some political issues. He’s the only Chinese member left btw. They were 6 ( Kai, Baekhyun, Sehun, Chanyeol, Suho and Chen) in Obsession because Lay is still in China and Xiumin and D.O are serving in the military at that time but in their latest album called Don’t Fight The Feeling they were 7 (Kai, Baekhyun, Sehun, Lay, Chanyeol, D.O and Xiumin). Suho, the leader and Chen, the main vocalist are in the military. Baekhyun and Chanyeol, are the members who are recently enlisted. So they were serving when their most recent album was released. You should definitely check that out. And i’ll never get tired of suggesting “the eve” dance practice coz it’s definitely worth it.

It kind of uses a good guys vs bad guys concept where they sometimes performed as the good guys in the army/police ish clothing and sometimes as the bad guys/bad influences in really flashy outfits and make-up styles. FYI, superM is the place where the all center and main dancer of each group assemble. So I think the portion in superM is quiet ‘average’ for each of these grup, if the context about dance. Kai is center and main dancer of exo. Taeyong is also center and main dancer of nct 127. Taemin is center and main dancer of shinee. Lucas is center of wayV, and ten is main dancer of wayV. So, u can summarize that 😁

Just stumbled upon this video and channel today and am at the part where you talk about how Kai's dancing sticks out among the other members. Not sure if anybody mentioned this in the comments but predebut, he danced jazz and ballet, and I think that combination made for the amazing dancer he is today. Ever since their teaser debut era where they show their skills (there's over 20 teasers), I've always been so captivated by how fluid and precise his movements were/are. Kai and Taemin are definitely some of SM's most spectacular dancers!
I guess it is because he is the center of exo. In superm, most of the time you can’t see him very well since he got very limited lines and dance highlight. But if you watch some fancams, you can see Kai still shines even he is at the back. I personally think Jopping is a very good example. Kai is the senior so he got a very different style and aurora compare to other members. And since Superm is a very average group in dancing, Kai said he doesn’t need to hit very hard in performances. He is the center and the main dancer in exo so his duty is to be very eye-catching in exo performance. The same situation goes to Taemin too, he saves some energy when he is not the center.

Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story and why they are on Earth, etc.
To truly understand EXO you need to understand that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and It is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So to really understand EXO you need to start from the very beginning and watch both of their "Mama" MVs. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one, if not all of them, using their powers.
Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. EXO's concept is also connected to real life planetary and solar events, so several of EXO's comebacks and new song releases for the main group of EXO are timed to when eclipses and other planetary phenomenons take place. For example, their comeback for their War album and Power repackaged album coincided with when we had a solar eclipse, etc. SM Entertainment, and its founder, Lee SooMan, has all of EXO's release dates and concepts planned out for years in advance, and it often has something to do with real celestial events that are predicted to take place.
Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO- M version focuses on the M members and their powers.
However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 of the members. Kris and Luhan left in 2014 and Tao left in 2015.) However, now, because they no longer have enough Chinese members they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members. However, in the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group.
So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. Since "Obsession" some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovering that it hasn't necessarily been EXO the whole time.
With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside the window as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV.
Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's "Jopping" storyline. If you remember what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in that MV, those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in "Obsession." Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. So because the members in black are supposed to be the EXO members who are the good guys, it seems to also indicate that the members who are in SuperM are the EXO members and not their X-EXO clones. So it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, EXO has gathered the best of the best of SM's groups to help them battle the Red Force and maybe eventually take down X-EXO. Just like how the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force.
Unfortunately,, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all.
To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation. (Kai means door or gateway, so his stage name symbolizes his role within EXO's storyline.)
🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M
❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost)
🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything.
🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity
(As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese unit)

I thought the same about Kai in SuperM until I saw individual fancams and compared them to group fancams. For example in Super Car you don’t see it in the official videos but if you watch the Kai fancam it’s mind blowing how exact and sharp he dances compared to the others. His body control is crazy and he is VERY concentrated.

EXO got 9 members. One active and do solo promotion in China. He was Lay (the only Chinese member). You can watch his music video "Lit".
During this time (2019), 2 members enlistment which are Xiumin & D.O.. It's mandatory for Korean man to enlist for military service. And now both of them officially discharged in December 2020 and January 2021.
In the dance practice video was:
1. Suho (leader/vocal)
2. Baekhyun (main vocal)
3. Chen (main vocal)
4. Chanyeol (main rapper/vocal)
5. Kai (main dancer)
6. Sehun (rapper/dancer)
Hope in 2021, they will do comeback as 6 or 7 members (perhaps Lay joining too). But this time Suho and Chen was not there due to enlistment for military service.

Basically in this mv EXO were fighting with Xexo(Clone vr. Of exo created by Red Force and Exo lose to Xexo in this mv). In tempo mv exo were shown infront of white walls filled with moving hands underneath.
Some says that in tempo mv redforce was creating clones of exo and some says even exo members shown there, were xexo. And real exo was not there.

I think Kai stands out here in Exo because he is the center, where as in SuperM Taeyong or Lucas is their center. Maybe Kai just like to blend in and not over power the younger ones. Well, it's just my opinion, i can be wrong.
Yeah they keep being him in the back in SuperM..... it's super frustrating. Why even have him in the group if he's not able to show his dance/performance skills? Kai is made to be center imo. The way he took over Tiger Inside dance practice even with like two lines and 20 seconds in front just really proves that.

Kai said he doesn't have to dance hard in SuperM as the others are also good. That's why you think he doesn't stand out much. But if you look at individual fancams of SuperM, you can see he dance differently than the rest. He totally stands out. His movements are more precise than the rest. Even other idols commented on it when they saw him dance Tiger Inside. That's why he's idol of idols. He doesn't blend in as you said.

They had no choice on this comeback in terms of numbers because 2 of members at this time had gone for mandatory military service and one is in China at the moment. In Monster all 9 members were present.
In Exo the main dancers are Kai, Lay and Sehun is the lead dancer. Although a members are great dancers these three do stand out, just as the main vocalists stand out when singing.
The formations might seem a bit off due to the fact that 2 members were in the military at the time, and the other-due to political conflict between China and South Korea, is unable to participate in the group.

They have adapted those choreographies multiple times after losing some of the members and sometimes schedules overlap won’t allow for everyone to participate in every performance. EXO is literally the DOPEST grp I have discovered since being a Kpop fan I wish I would have been around since they debuted back in 2012 n 2013 but I came Around 2016 then again in 2018. I will never regret being an EXO-L. I put that in the same Category of regretting being a Beyhive member and I don’t regret neither of those things. EXO have do literally 40+ genres of music I didn’t even KNOW there were 40+ genres of music out there and they have touch just about everyone one of them. My Kpop days feel extremely boring bc EXO is not having a CB and although I love my other grps I just connect better to EXO. At one point I unintentionally unstan all my grps and was just an EXO-L for a good 6-7 months but I came back to my other grps slowly but surely. EXO is an ALL AROUND ACE GRP and nobody can change my opinion on that. Regardless of what ANY Fandom or Solo Stans say EXO have reached the legendary mark and have already left they mark on Kpop. They don’t have NOTHING to prove to ANY FANDOM or new Kpop Stans. Other grps can have the shine now EXO literally owned the Kpop industry from 2013-2018 and have been on Hiatus since after Obsession CB. The members have talked abt how they don’t feel the pressure to be the best any more and just want to focus on music that will make them and their fans happy.

They were 6 ( Kai, Baekhyun, Sehun, Chanyeol, Suho and Chen) in Obsession because Lay is still in China and Xiumin and D.O are serving in the military at that time but in their latest album called Don’t Fight The Feeling they were 7 (Kai, Baekhyun, Sehun, Lay, Chanyeol, D.O and Xiumin). Suho, the leader and Chen, the main vocalist are in the military. Baekhyun and Chanyeol, are the members who are recently enlisted. So they were serving when their most recent album was released. You should definitely check that out. And i’ll never get tired of suggesting “the eve” dance practice coz it’s definitely worth it.

I understand why you said Kai's dance moves stand out in EXO, that's why his position in group is Main Dancer (along with Lay). Just stumbled upon this video and channel today and am at the part where you talk about how Kai's dancing sticks out among the other members. Not sure if anybody mentioned this in the comments but predebut, he danced jazz and ballet, and I think that combination made for the amazing dancer he is today. Ever since their teaser debut era where they show their skills (there's over 20 teasers), I've always been so captivated by how fluid and precise his movements were/are. Kai and Taemin are definitely some of SM's most spectacular dancers!

I guess it is because he is the center of exo. In superm, most of the time you can’t see him very well since he got very limited lines and dance highlight. But if you watch some fancams, you can see Kai still shines even he is at the back. I personally think Jopping is a very good example. Kai is the senior so he got a very different style and aurora compare to other members.
And since Superm is a very average group in dancing, Kai said he doesn’t need to hit very hard in performances. He is the center and the main dancer in exo so his duty is to be very eye-catching in exo performance. The same situation goes to Taemin too, he saves some energy when he is not the center.

with exo the main thing w dancing is that they have very different styles, kai blending in superm its because their styles are very similar actually in my opinion. w exo every member has their own style tbh, kai pulls toward more ballet-like movements and sehun for example goes for clean hard moves idk its just very obvious how different they are if u pay close attention
