    I am using the Cold and Flu version of Mucinex. My cold got to the point where I had a head ache, sore throat and lungs clogged with mucus. The combination of acetaminophen and guaifenesin is dulling the pain of the cold enough where I can drink more water and it’s helping to dislodge all the crud from my lungs which also makes me feel better so I can drink more water. The phenylephrine is making my nose runny. Not sure if that is assisting my sinus pressure that was causing me headaches along with dehydration. I think the main point being it’s relieving enough systems where I am able to drink more water which is helping to kick this cold in the crotch.

    I use the generic guiafesin for tightness in my chest and to cough up whatever is down there. I use the plain 400 mg and only as long as I can feel it is helping. I do not like taking an extended release because I want to be able to telll if I am getting relief from it. I also do not like the Combinations as they seem to mess up my cough and or sinuses. I am ready to use it preventively as soon as I have any mucous in the morning because I think it helps to prevent the implantation of the virus in my membranes, but I could be wrong about that. I do not like being sick and I don't like taking pills or taking too many of them or taking them without them being effective.

  • @mjallen1308
    @mjallen1308 ปีที่แล้ว

    $15? I’ve NEVER paid $15 for Mucinex. I get the generic brand UNLESS it’s on sale. They had a special at Dollar Tree where they had Brand name Mucinex liquid for $1. It wasn’t expired or going to expire. It also wasn’t a small bottle. It was just the normal bottle you see at the grocery store or CVS/Walgreens for $15-$20 OR Walmart for $10-15. And you better believe I snatched that shit all the way up. I don’t usually take it when I have just a cold. I more so take it when I have congestion in my chest or sinus. Like I can tell when I have congestion in my lungs or my sinuses and THEN I take mucinex and maybe an antibiotic (if I have them) plus acetaminophen (or aleve/ibuprofen but since I’m on blood thinners now, I can’t take those.)
