As mentioned in the video, Robben also only really had one foot, but thing is, Robben was so quick, even in his later years, and dribbled at defenders with so much pace that he could suck them and his feet were so quick he could shift on to his left and get a shot away. Antony doesn't have that blistering pace so it's easier to shut that down

They were rubbing their hands knowing they got 100 mil for him. He was inconsistent as fuck.
As a united fan The problem I have with Antony is that ok lets say you remove the price tag. According to Ajax they offered him originally around 30-35mil for Antony BUT even at that i still feel cheated. Ive seen players valued less at the club like Dan James contribute more and have more goals and assist than Antony. Hes simply not for us. Have to move him on
The manhester United scouts valued him at 25 million pounds. For 25 million, his numbers are poor, but we'll take a placeholder for 25 million. The fact that he was bought at 85 million shows a realistic multiplier of the transfer spend at uniter versus the actual value of those transfers across the last decade

What most non Man United fans and even some United fans don't know is that Antony was valued at around 40 million euros at the start of the window since Ajax as with all players wanted to cash out.
The incredibly incompetent John Murtough and Richard Arnold did not pay the price and instead focused all their efforts on Frankie De Jong (upon the insistence of ETH), a player that did not want to leave Barcelona.
After this snub, United had to save face and came back to get Antony at the end of the window at which point Ajax had raised enough money to not give in to United's demands and valued him at 100 million euros which United paid as they could not find any suitable options within the short time available.
That is the reason why he was this expensive.
When he played in the Eredivisie, he really wasn't bad. It's a pretty strong league and for him doing his little skills confidently made him at least made him look better than he maybe was. But even though I hated him with a passion, it obviously wasn't without reason. He was pretty strong. Even though his numbers don't reflect it, he was at the start of most attacks during those two years. Now when he left the league I was quite happy but devastated Ajax got so much money and could invest it in the future (which they didn't. Thanks Mislintat

The worst is Kevin Saint-Augstin 1st off Leeds united didn't want to sign him. It was a loan deal with RB Leipzig that was only going to be permeant if they got into the prem. during 19/20 and early on he got injuried then their legendary manger didn't like his work ethic so he only played like 24 minutes. Leeds wins the championship so RB says their deal is to be made permeant but Leeds says the deal expired before the end of the year cause COVID season. RB says that goes against the spirit of the the deal. They go to court, court agrees with RB so Leeds pays RB 40 million pounds. But they keep going paying various courts fees to try and get a legal win against RB they never get. So at this point considering legal fees he's likely cost them 80+ million pounds and his total playing time at the club is barely over one half of a game due to injury and them not wanting him on the fucking team.
100 fucking million of legal tender. I cannot stress to you how huge of a figure that actually is.
