Just almost a year later after one of the most influential football icons had left the world (Pele), one of the most successful club in the country (Santos FC) were relegated from the Serie A for the first time in 111 years. The club lost dramatically 1-2 to Fortaleza while playing at home. The defeat sparks a night of heavy riots in the streets of Sao Paulo, mainly outside the stadium. The club had one of the worst domestic campaign ever, as they had 5 managers in just one season, as well as the worst ever defeat (a 1-7 thrashing to Internacional).
