I rode a wide glide to Sturgis in 2005. Loved it! I learned a lot on that trip, 5000 miles in 9 days. When I got home I was in pain though. The arches of my feet hurt from the pegs and Lindy bar, my knees and hips hurt and my hands were numb. Took my wife to the Ozarks on an electra glide on year and it was a much better ride, no pain whatsoever. Planning to ride across country on my current wide glide. I'm installing floor boards for this trip, should help out a lot. May ride route 66 before coming back.
Yeah man, at the end of the day soreness is ok, but you shouldn't be in pain

@@EddiePassions That is amazing - If you made it to blue belt, your body will have no issues on high mile days - Just make sure you set your bike up to be comfortable in the long run

Honestly, go for something different if you already have one Dyna. It's hard to say, because my Dyna will do everything a Road King could do, for me at least.

I'm always torn, there is something to be said for doing high speed touring on light bikes, that raw acceleration that uses the classic high speed formula since Caveman Stay Low invented adrenaline and endorphins; light weight and high horsepower...or Brontosaurus power equals huge dopamine surges simulating pleasure or some prehistoric feeling of living on the edge of existence and time as we know it.
But time, being a social construct and old age being a reality, I seek refuge in weight and comfort, and remind myself that I've had those pleasures of light weight and low drag, and feel blessed to have experienced it.

Never understood why people trailered their bikes either. If its unreliable I understand, but if its a newish bike or well maintained, RIDE THAT BITCH. Had a few buddies trailer their bikes to east coastin last year from like 2 hrs away, while me and a few others rode ours down. Cant wait to put some miles on this year. Good vid bro keep it up!

I trailer to Sturgis to have my camper with me, and also because I can't afford a $350/night hotel room and at 64 I'm not sleeping under a picnic table anymore, hahaha
