My old man passed away riding out to Sturgis, alone for his 50th year on this planet. His buddies were all flying later and shipped their bikes. I envy his freedom and he died doing exactly what he wanted to be doing. Ride safe and be free

having been to the Sturgis Rally many times I can tell you that while you were there you were in one of the safest environments in America
Idk why I've always have some sort of anxiety going to Sturgis by myself. I'm Mexican and I always imagine I will get bad looks there. This video shows people just want to ride. Thank you!
It's about riding and being free on the open road, don't be nervous. Go enjoy being around biker brothers, meet and greet dude it's all good.
I'm from south dakota the people here are just people. We ain't on nothing. The rural white folk ain't on nothing either. Very friendly place
Sometimes people can be nice if you’re in or friends with families who are well known out there. But I grew up in Sturgis and hated it there’s still a lot of small like minded people who aren’t open to some diversity I feel. Our homecoming got canceled because of racist slurs towards the students that came from pine ridge to play. They gathered all of the native students (me included) there was literally about less then 30 native kids put us in a class room telling us we shouldn’t feel scared or worried to be at the school we just all agreed they were racist it was stupid let us go to class!
Bro go if you can go it's awesome their they have more diverse people going there every year it's awesome . You will love it I didn't even have a bike an enjoyed it hell I got to meet allot of famous people there as well . I call B's on anyone saying that theirs racism going on at Sturgis those people love the open road an love talking to others who enjoy the same thing
@@terrysmith9794 The people who come and travel to the rally awesome people. People travel from around the world and it’s great i’m talking about some of people who live there all year round not the 2 weeks of diversity Sturgis sees every summer.

I’m like lean, lean, lean okay we got this, then the next one comes up and here we go again! It’s accelerating and at times scary with other riders coming around the same corners! Almost reminds me of my grand parents and their Harley club from Dayton Ohio back in the late 1940s. It was an all black club just because at that time no other races would allow us to join. They covered the east coast on large trips for about 11 years.
Brings me joy so many of these men approached you in a non evil way. Gives me hope but i am not sure I could do it as a male and not get shot at.

You roll up around here, you’re more than invited to ride and I live in a “country” area in OK. Would love to see you! As long as you don’t make fun of some of us for riding smaller bikes 😂
I'm not a Harley rider. Just not my cup of tea. I will say I see a lot more black cruiser riders going down the road with white friends. I like seeing this kind of thing. At the end of the day we all just want to be out on the open roads. And come home safe.

No offence, I never understood Riding a Motor Cycle makes you a free spirit. I have lived in 18 states and 7 countries, that's what I call a free spirt, not a Motor Cycle, not putting you down but I have been on a few Motor Cycles and felt no free spirit stuff. Just my opinoin.

It's so nice to see another female biker that isn't intimidated to ride solo on long trips - AND on a glide. I've got a '19 and I love what you've done with yours. I've got the same heated grips that you do! You're bike sounds awesome - what have you done with it? You may want to consider installing the HD cool flow fan and mid frame heat deflectors - they really help to mitigate that engine heat and make riding in the hot summer month a lot more tolerable! Love the handle bars too!!!

I ran solo to Sturgis in the early 80' s and had an adventure I'll never forget! That 1948 Indian Chief served me very well that trip. Made lots of new friends along the way. Keep riding and doing your thang, baby girl! Be safe out there... Always. ✌🇺🇸

I love this video. It expresses everything I love about riding. I went to Sturgis by myself last year. Did the same thing. Took my time. Enjoyed the scenery, the culture, the wildlife. Met people along the way, and it’s those brief moments like meeting a guy at a gas station and the conversation that comes from it, it’s those moments that recharge my battery and inspire me. There are good people in this world. A lot of them ride in two wheels.

Queen, this is so good to see. So many times we question if we should follow our interests and wonder how we will be received in some subcultures as African Americans. I know at many overlanding events I’m the only black guy, but I’ve found that the bond of the interest outshines any differences and I’ve never felt unwelcome. Keep shining and representing.
