Great interview, he is such a down to earth kind of guy. Been following Arjen since 1998 when The Electric Castle came out. I bought that album because of the booklet, it grabbed my attention, not knowing anything about the music I had just bought. Man what a pleasant surprise that was back in the day listening to it the first time! He is a gifted and talented musician and songwriter. Picking a favourite album is hard to do, I think I'll stick with you. 010111001 might be my favourite as well although Electric Castle comes very close.

The great thing with Arjens music is that there are an album for every mood I´m in, I can´t say which one is my favourite, I love them all, just different times.

People not considering Universal Migrator one of their favorite albums must not really be observing the, pardon the joke, ACU as a whole. It is a central part of the story. The meat of the entire lovely meal for the mind that is Ayreon. The bridge between Final Experiment, 01011001, and even THE and ItEC. It gave us the birth of the Ayreon universe and, together with the epilogue, a meaning to the existence of humans in that universe. It created the continuity of the story. Without it, there is no common universe. There are just separate stories with some loose references. UniMig is the glue that holds it all together. And for that reason, it is a great album. Not to mention, it has something for everyone. Dream Sequencer has the prog covered, FotM has the metal side, while still being two parts of a coherent and cohesive story. It is the third in my personal Top 10 Ayreon albums as well as the 5th in my personal Top 20 of all concept albums I've ever heard, albums by two guest stars of Arjen's (Dream Theater: Scenes from a Memory - James "Me" LaBrie and Pain of Salvation: Be - Daniel "®" Gildenlöw) being the only two to squeeze in in front of it, between the other Ayreon albums that dominate the front of the list.
I sure hope he knows how appreciated he is. He is, was(since the first song of the first album I've heard of his), and always will be my favorite modern composer. As, let's not fool ourselves, that is what he is. He isn't just a capital A Artist. Calling him that would be like calling the roof of the Sistine Chapel a bunch of ceiling scribbles.
