Of course buggy will be king of the pirates. He's the main protagonist after all. Sure we don't see him much but we get to see the antagonist's story. All this build up so we can watch king buggy defeat this mighty foe in hand to hand combat.

Nearly everyone who's up to date thinks that Buggy will be the King of the pirates.😅😂 Luffy is the Sun god and Joyboy, so he'll acomplish his and everyone else's dream without the King title.
He will pursue the king title, but it is not his end goal as we all know now! So he cares about the title because it will help him achieve something. The title itself is don’t think Luffy cares about that much! Shanks already acknowledges Luffy as a great pirate, they have the same title so!!!
