Wakey has a wonderful History It's people were absolute lovely happy normal people. I don't wish to comment on the present but we do have a wonderful city no really.

I know we all call it Kirgut in Wakefield, but it is spelled Kirkgate...not being picky, but records like this are important and are best if they're accurate👍

It's Kirkgate not Kirgate. It's called Kirkgate because Kirk means Church, the church is Chantry Chapel.
